little immigrant got a reaction from Argenta2623 in Filing a divorce after 6 years being married, while my I-751 still on going( stuck with the interview schedule)
He can't withdraw the I-751 because it's your application. He also cannot withdraw his sponsorship for the green card FYI (my ex tried unsuccessfully). As others have said, get a divorce and switch it to a divorce waiver on the day of your interview.
-
little immigrant reacted to belinda63 in Is my situation worth trying to withdraw sponsorship?
You cannot remove sponsorship once the green card has been issued.

Anyone mention the I 864

little immigrant reacted to smilingstone in Relationship is very strained, don't know what to do
What standards? Wouldn't a studio apartment for the two of you alone be better than sharing with your parents?
My perspective is that reasonable people should accept the fact that sacrifices need to be made if it's in the pursuit of something bigger. If that means living in a shoe box for a while, then so be it. I'd rather that then not have privacy.

little immigrant reacted to mindthegap in I751 Denied but valid infostamp stamping
The stamp will still be valid until expiry.
Regardless of the scary denial letter, in law you remain a LPR until an immigration judge says otherwise (with a final order of removal) and you are entitled to a hearing with an immigration judge before that happens.
If you were denied last week it is highly unlikely an NTA has been issued already, and zero chance a hearing has been held in abstentia on that timescale. So you can relax..a bit.
So, you are good to board and travel, and with a stamp you will have the customary slightly annoying but polite visit to secondary to verify your status once you land.
I've done it myself many, many times with a stamp after denial... with the slight caveat that I've only travelled after refiling and having a new receipt number in the system.
I've never travelled after denial but before refiling.
Now, in your situation, they should stamp you in as as normal (which would be stamped ARC or LPR), but what should happen, and what does happen may be different. Whether they do that or parole you in I'm honestly not sure.
Please update us as as to what happens, as info for an entry under these circumstances is seriously lacking, and I can add it to my bible which will help many, many, others (including myself).
You also need to go to the EOIR site HERE and stick your A# in and see if anything shows up. Please post back the results of this asap.
Also, an I-751 denial has little to do with excess periods out of the US, and that is very odd if it was denied on that basis alone. That would be dealt with very differently. Can you post the exact wording of the denial letter (or a photo, redacted of course)?

little immigrant reacted to Dashinka in Robbery, fatal shooting revealed as elaborate visa fraud scheme
If the moderators wish to move this to CEHST, I am fine with that.
Robbery, fatal shooting revealed as elaborate visa fraud scheme
Police believe the motive was to leverage their status as crime victims to apply for a U nonimmigrant visa, known as a “U visa.”
Investigations revealed that the robbery was part of a larger scheme involving insurance and immigration fraud. The charging documents indicate that not only was the robbery staged, but several other similar incidents occurred across the area, implicating multiple individuals, including store clerks.

little immigrant reacted to Redro in If my wife reapplies for an ESTA and is approved, will she have a chance of passing through immigration after it was refused by CBP 2 years ago?
it’s been 2 years since the ESTA denial but 1 year since the B1/B2 refusal. you’re lucky your wife was able to withdraw her entry and return to Japan. I’d be surprised if your wife receives the ESTA with the most recent B1/B2 revocation. I would plan on continuing to visit her in Japan until she is finally able to come over on her immigrant visa.

I think you will be waisting your money. A little patience is called for now. Let the process roll and you keep visiting her.

You need to call and update it

little immigrant reacted to cicgio in Is it possible to get a credit card while doing an AOS?
I've had an Amex in Germany for a few years and was able to open an US Amex card under my name without a SSN just last month using the Global Card Relationship link that was mentioned in a previous post (https://www.americanexpress.com/us/customer-service/global-card-relationship/). There was an option for people who don't have a SSN to put in their passport number instead.

little immigrant reacted to Redro in Question on K1 Visa (My Story)
7 weeks is a lot of time.
If you have the chance to see her again before her interview, I would visit her and have her take that evidence to her interview.
Good luck with your journey.

little immigrant reacted to Crazy Cat in Question on K1 Visa (My Story)
The requirement to file a K-1 is having met once in the past 2 years. I think seeing each other every day for 7 weeks is sufficient for a K-1's meeting requirement. Good luck on the journey.

little immigrant reacted to fritz222 in Question on K1 Visa (My Story)
My story began in November 2023 while I was traveling around Bangkok. I found a hotel on Booking. com and out of the blue I booked it for a couple days to try. It was very close to the train station. That was one of the reasons why I booked it. The day before I was due to check in I thought I would go and find the hotel. When I walked in, there was a lovely lady working. I remember I could barely talk to her. And she had the most beautiful smile that made my heart just melt. She seemed very busy but I asked I could see the room and she took time out to show me the room. I thought that was very nice of her. After we got back to the desk I introduced myself and she gave me her name too. I told her see you tomorrow and again I was pleased to see that big smile.
The rest of that day I just could not stop thinking about her. The next day I was very happy to see her again. At this point I wanted to know more about her but didn’t know what to say. The first thing that popped in my mind was to say your husband is a lucky guy. And she said I’m not married, so then I said well your boyfriend, and she said I have no boyfriend. I have to say I was very happy to hear that. Later that day I was looking at booking a dinner cruise on the river but I did not want to go alone. I was very nervous because I wanted to ask her to join me. So the next day I got up the nerve and asked her if she would like to join me for the dinner cruise. She asked if she could think about it and I said of course. The next day she agreed and we both seemed very happy about our date. Our first date was spectacular for me, it was on November 26th. We were on a beautiful boat cruising the river and a great dinner and she looks so beautiful. It was a night I will never forget.
Now when I think about it, I have never went to a hotel and asked to see the room. Something brought me into that hotel on that date at that time. I feel very blessed to have met her. The next night on the 27th she asked me if I would like to go to the Loy Krathong festival after her work and of course I said yes. It was a lovely evening she showed me about the Thai cultures. On the 28th I asked her to join me for dinner at Iconsiam and she agreed. We had a very nice dinner on the 6th floor overlooking the river. We spent the next 7 weeks seeing each other almost everyday. And I proposed to her on Janurary 9th and she said yes. I had to leave Thailand on the 15th of Jan. We filed our K1 visa on Valentines day of 24. My question is, does Immigration look at the length of time we have spent together? I really did fall in love with this girl. I miss her terribly now

Jim says a lot of weird things but this case to be fair is unusual.
-
little immigrant reacted to OldUser in Address change while I-751 is pending?
Based on OP's history, the I-751 is unlikely going to be approved... I think it's been heading to for denial a long time now. Maybe USCIS is waiting for the marriage to fall apart.

Your daughter sponsoring you would have been a lot simpler

little immigrant reacted to Loren Y in Does visiting count as residing?
Once you get a license in that state, you are now considered a resident of that state. It is illegal to hold a license in 2 states at the same time, you should have turned in your license from your previous state to get your new one issued. They usually void it by stamping it, or punching it with a VOID stamp punch. If you are currently holding valid licenses in more than 1 state, I would fix that problem first.

She needs to have a talk with her parents. How do you register a birth a year earlier? Was this a late registration?
Are you sure who the call came from? We have seen some scams calls before. Never like this one but I would make sure to talk to the parents.

little immigrant reacted to Loren Y in Pa. to register voters automatically, Gov. Shapiro announces
Was at the DMV today with my stepson ( Greencard Holder) he passed his driving test to get his license, and when I was reviewing the license information I noticed she had automatically selected US Citizen for status, and for voter registration had marked Clark ( as in Clark county). Had to make sure she changed his Citizenship, and print out the ineligible to register to vote. They just click and clack away on their keyboard with no regard for screwing someones life up drastically. Definitely good advice to watch everything they do, and make sure you review everything.

little immigrant reacted to Boiler in Pa. to register voters automatically, Gov. Shapiro announces
https://www.pennlive.com/news/2023/09/gov-shapiro-announces-pa-to-begin-automatic-voter-registration.html
Gov. Josh Shapiro on Tuesday announced that Pennsylvania will become the 24th state to implement automatic voter registration.
In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Shapiro said everyone who goes to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get a new or renewed driver’s license will be automatically registered to vote, unless the individual chooses to opt out.
Non Citizens look out, the consequences are very bad.

little immigrant reacted to Pinkrlion in I will not be filing AOS
Immediately file for divorce. Have him legally evicted from your residence. You do not have to get him an apartment that is extortion. Do not worry about him filing VAWA. They know false claims when they see them.

little immigrant reacted to EmilyW in Apply for Adjustment of Status while in U.S. on B-2 Visa?
If she is in the country right now, yes she can adjust.
If she is outside of the country and entering the country using her tourist visa, with the intent to adjust, that's fraud.
