JRTLFlores got a reaction from R and F in URGENT
Guys, I was just reading the RFE and it says that "the translator must certify...that he is competent to translate." The professor doesn't actually say that he is, but underneath his name he has listed that he is a professor of Spanish at this particular university. Is that enough to certify his capabilities? Would that be enough for the govt?

Of course she needs a separate medical report - it has be signed by USCIS Civil Surgeon on the form I-693. Here you can find a CS located near you....
    https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV
No police report needed in her case.

Getting married is no problem but her immigration will be the problem because she will have to PROVE that she did not come on a tourist visa just to circumvent the K1 or K3 system. That same applies if she was here on a work or education type of visa.
What is the rush??????????? if she can come and go for 10 years he could petition her and she can go through the K3 procedure in Mexico and travel here as many times as she wished on her tourist visa.

Contact CDJ in writing and let them know your name, case number, interview date, etc., and tell them your relationship is over and you no longer wish to apply for a fiancee visa. If you don't live near Juarez, then traveling there just to attend and say you don't want the visa seems like added expense and stress that is not needed.
You can call them as well, but you should send them letter and keep a copy of it.

Please tell me how can she go to the interview if she doesn't pay for the visa fee up front, aswell as not having the required documents in hand i.e 134 form.
Again, don't go to the interview, you are not obligated to attend.

JRTLFlores reacted to Casprd in Surprise you have a 4 year old daughter!!!
You're early in the process so I would get the DNA test and go from there. Just because someone says he has a daughter doesn't mean it is so.
How long does it take to get the results? If it is a matter of a few weeks then you can wait for these before withdrawing the petition. If it turns out not to be true you have saved some time and money. If it is his child then you will need to either withdraw the petition or get it corrected somehow. Something like that can sink a petition. Given that you learned early in the process if it isn't corrected, Immigrations could probably make a strong case for material misrepresentation if you don't correct this.
What about giving USCIS a call and explain to them what is going on and see if you can amend the petition when you get the results of the DNA test? Not sure if this is an option and you'll probably have to talk to a level 2 person or supervisor. If they let you do this then you won't loose too much time or the filing fees.

I agree on the DNA test- both for his sake (there is a chance the mom is naming him now just because she thinks it is a way for the child into the USA), and as an explanation why you didn't list the child on the forms.

I wouldn't recommend calling Southerners Yanks. Also, the appopriate term for ill-mannered Southerners is redneck. Hillbillies are really, in my opinion, people who live in the Appalachians. Now, just to be clear, don't call anyone a redneck to their face because they probably have a gun and don't mind using it. Sometimes it's better just to talk about people behind their backs.
P.S. Polite Southerners never refer to Notherners as Yankees anyway, because it's a derogatory term in the South.

Don't mention Yanks or Yankees in the Boston area. They have t-shirts that say "Yankees Suck".

I'm sorry for you. I'd definitely advise you to wait a little while. If you do nothing it doesn't hurt anything and if in a while you still aren't going through with it then you can catch it at the consulate. It would be terrible if you were to reconcile things and had already cancelled.
    Good luck

JRTLFlores reacted to Shenzhen in K1-Have you ever violated the terms of a U.S. visa, or been unlawfully present in, or deported from, the United States?
    (iii) Exceptions.-
    (I) Minors.-No period of time in which an alien is under 18 years of age shall be taken into account in determining the period of unlawful presence in the United States under clause (I). The law that provides the 3 year, 10 year and lifetime bans, INA 212(a)(9)(B) and INA 212(a)(9)©, took effect in April 1997. In effect, entries or time spent illegally in the US before April 1997 do not “count” against the alien in terms of making him/her ineligible an I-601 waiver.
I would say no per the US governments own rules and regulations. Do not ask for trouble where there is not any.

No, you're not wrong Nikolacolada. For instance, I brought a document that was written neither in English nor Spanish and attached its English translation.

The pastor letter will not have any barring on the process. So set a date far enough in advance to do the religious ceremony, and just get married at the justice of peace for the 90 requirement period.

The time to submit such a letter is when you initially file the I-129F. If you were to receive an RFE (something you DON'T want to happen), you could sneak it it with the response.
Your fiancee could bring the letter to the interview at the Embassy, however, it may not be looked at by a CO.

The letter will not be enough for an expedite, if that is your intention.
I agree with the others; do not send it by itself, it is unlikely to "meet up" with your petition. But if you get an RFE or whenever you send in the next round of paperwork, send it with, if nothing else, it'll go towards bonafides.

The letter will not help in anything, USCIS only cares about rather you and your fiance are free to marry and have a valid ongoing relationship, your pastor has nothing to do with this and wont help you get approved faster.

If you are just trying to get the date when your Visa would be approved – based on the letter from pastor then that is simply not going to work.
USCIS or NVC would not put your case on top based on letter from your pastor and coz he needs the date…… sorry dude that’s not happening.

JRTLFlores got a reaction from AlienAmerican in Does anyone have experience with VisaJourney Timelines??
I find this is way more helpful than the Timeline estimate: http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/default.aspx
Careful, you will likely get addicted to tracking what number you are!
I see that right now you are #179.
The closer it gets to 0, the closer you are to getting your NOA2.
BTW, I was #126 when one day I opened the mail and there was the NOA2. So sometimes it can jump down really fast. This is quite accurate. Even though, yes, this is only a sampling of all the petitions out there, there is still a pretty good number registered on VJ to get a fairly accurate estimate.
