You can try calling/emailing London asking if it's possible for an earlier date. I've seen people have success at getting an earlier date without an expedite.
And your medical is fine. I got mine done like a month before my interview. I wanted to have it as early as possible in case there were problems.

Thanks for clearing the co-sponser part up.
I really do want to reiterate though, you CAN enter the US, on a visa waiver (ie, without a visa), with intent to marryPROVIDED you leave after and dont try to adjust status.
If you enter the US, without a visa (or even on a different visa) with INTENT to marry AND adjust status, that is when you have problems.
Intending to enter and marry is FINE!
Intending to enter, marry and immediately stay is NOT!

amazngrace, most of this information is incorrect.
    1) You need a fiance (K1) visa to marry and then immediately reside in the US. If you want to marry and then leave, that is not a problem (I married in the US and am currently awaiting CR-1 completion in England)
    2) You do not have to meet the requirements for the last 3 years, I believe it is better if its for the last year, but so long as you have proof of ongoing employment meeting the poverty guideline you should be okay (I know this doesnt apply to you, Liz, but just thought i'd clarify!)

    Hi Liz!
In answer to question 1, it is fine to get married in the USA. The problem is when you have intend to marry and then STAY in the USA. Make sure Andrew has a return ticket booked in case of a fussy CBP Officer!
Qu 2: K3 is basically redundant. It ends up turning into a CR-1/IR-1 most of the time, and if it doesnt, ends up taking longer, so your option will be CR-1!
Qu 3: Im a bit iffy in this part, I know that your partners income wont count as that is not going to continue in the US. Assets and Savings do count, but they have to be prety significant to make a difference. Not sure of the exact figures but I believe the Poverty Guideline sheet will help!
You can have a joint sponser, so if you have a family member that may be able to help, it may be worth starting to check out now!
Finally, are you plannign to do DCF? I believe you have to be domiciled in the UK for a certain period of time, so may be worth looking more into that too!
    Hope some of this helps!

My fellow past VJ'ers, present, and future VJ'ers,
I joined Visa Journey because I was very scared when I started reading bad stories about the immigration process. I wanted my fellow VJ'ers to offer me support. I wanted them to help me get through this process. But when everyone did not give me positive feedback, I honestly got hurt.
But I am hear to tell anyone going through this process that we have to listen to the good, the bad, and the ugly because this process is very difficult. We can learn from everyone here.
I was open and honest and so were my fellow VJ'ers. Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. We have to embrace everything we are told no matter how hurtful it is. Remember that we are already in pain because we are away from our loved ones so when we hear something we do not like, it is like someone has poured salt on our wound. But that is ok. We have to listen because this process is not a cake walk. We have to prove our intentions. We have to be forthcoming. We must celebrate those who do get approved in less than four months because it means our time is coming too.
The experienced VJ'ers are just giving us a preview of what we will probably be facing. LISTEN and LISTEN well because they know their stuff.
I have learned that I was naive in thinking that I would be one of the lucky ones who would be approved in less than 4 months. I have learned that because of the details of my relationship that it is likely that the CO will not believe my husband truly loves me because I am so much older than he is. I have learned that this process can take years. No I did not want to hear that, and I am sure you do not either. But the reason they told me these things was to help me, not to hurt me.
I have learned to produce as much proof as possible. MORE is better than less. I have learned that losing my patience means wasting precious energy and time.
I would like to thank everyone who has tried to help me. Thank God for the kind and compassionate. And thank God for the straight talkers who provide the tough love I need to get through this process.
    I am listening now.

The I-130 is a petition for alien relative, not a visa. Yes, you'll start any spouse visa process by filing an I-130. Start with the guide and be certain to also carefully study and follow the I-130 instructions.
In short, except for the first sentence, the above post is simply inaccurate. I advise you do disregard it in its entirety.

If you have kept track on this website enough you should know that there is no rhyme or reason to why some people get approved before the other. You would also have seen that someone was JUST approved yesterday who received their NOA1 a year ago. This process is taxing but you better get used to it because you aren't even half way through it yet. Stop obsessing over something can't do anything about....at least not until at least 30 days past your 5 month mark and even then your actions don't guarantee anything is going to move any faster!

The trip isn't fun for the cat (or your husband if he flies coach), so I would suggest a tranquilizer for the cat, and perhaps the husband. Since it's funny now, I have to tell you a true story.
Back in 1991 to 1994, I flew a lot from Los Angeles to Europe. I am 6'6" tall, so sitting for 15 hours in-midst a bunch of obese dudes has never been fun for me. The other day I had a visit from a friend of mine, who was a pretty successful dentist. We talked about my constant reluctance to fly coach, and he told me that he just pops in a pill and sleeps the entire flight. I asked him if he could give me a few of those pills and he did, but warned me not to take more than a half pill initially and only the other half if I didn't feel super sleepy half an hour later.
On the next flight, I popped half a pill in, started watching TV, and didn't feel sleepy at all. Half an hour later I popped in the other half. Another half later I still didn't feel sleepy and took another one. Then the curtain fell.
I remember London, where I must have changed airplanes, like a Zombie in the fog, and I remember my suitcase on this transportation thingi. I woke up 2 days later in my bed, no idea how I got there.
I told my Dentist friend about this and he said "are you insane? I told you not to take more than 1 pill under any circumstances."
Years later, I learned what kind of pills I had taken: Rohypnol, later abused as the infamous date rape drug. It sure works!

Amy and Nick reacted to TBoneTX in Hot Dog!
Two immigrants have just arrived in the United States by boat. As they discuss their expectations of American culture, one says to the other, "I hear that the people of this country actually eat dogs."
"Odd," his companion replies, "but if we shall live in America, we should do as the Americans do, si man."
Nodding emphatically, the first immigrant points to a hot-dog vendor, and they both walk toward the cart. "Two dogs, please," he says. The vendor, only too pleased to oblige, wraps both hot dogs in foil and hands them over the counter. Excited, the companions hurry to a bench and begin to unwrap their "dogs."
One of them opens the foil and begins to blush. Staring at it for a moment, he turns to his friend and whispers cautiously, "What part did you get?"

I love that someone is finally telling you to shut your gob! It's true when people say you are a debbie downer. You can't be proactive during the first 5 months because you can't do ANYTHING besides wait your turn! This is the last time I will be responding to any of your rediculous posts. You are now the boy who cried wolf...when you actually need help people here aren't going to be bothered....you only have yourself to blame for that.

it does make it quite a bit faster in some cases. They might want a letter from your commander, but that should be easy to get. I know at the USCIS stage, they didnt ask for any proof of my deployment, but I did call from the deployed location. All you can do is call them, request it...worst case, they tell you no. Good luck!

Raj, until you get to the 5 months mark, there is no reason to worry about anything.
You can do all you want to try and be "proactive" at this point, but even your senators are not going to be able to do anything until you get at least close to the 5 months mark.
The majority of people get approved around the 5 month mark, if not before, so you dont have any cause for concern. Yes, there was a massive nightmare for the CSC-TSC folk on here, but that was a horrific incident that only affected them. Do you see anyone else being transferred to TSC now?
If I recall correctly, you were moaning after less than a month that you hadnt got your NOA2, and back then people told you to calm down and relax.
Magical isnt the only one who has problems with your posts, but the responses he gives sum it up so well that others dont post.
VJ is an information forum - you are just posting random facts and whining.
