Agree with Mithra on Fuul.. but Ahmed taught me to add a bit of Tahini right before serving... it is fantastic ! I also like to slice thinly fresh garlic and allow the garlic to cook in tje olive oil a bit. Also I add crushed red pepper becaise we prefer spicy food. Before we moved to Florida we did use pinto beans but now we have access to a fabulous Arabian market and use Fava beans. We just made Tameia with the Fava beans and it was delicious. I now can also make Mashee and Basboosa on my own... I have been having a good time learning Egyptian recipes and making Egyptian/American dinners every night. Since starting his new position Ahmed has met another Egyptian man that told him about a middle eastern restaraunt called Petra so when I cant make something specific we can go there and have it.
As far as being a happy couple... we have been married 2 1/2 years now and overall we are happy. We do have our disagreements but we find a way to get thru it. He has been here since January. We moved to Florida in March. He had looked for a job since day one. He started studying for the CPA exam. While waiting for work he started doing a mobile mechanic business. He HATED IT! But he stuck it out and we supported one another and kept our sense of humor. One month ago now he was hired as a financial analyst. He is happy to be back in the corporate world but still hoping for an accounting position.
We are just really enjoying living a normal life together. We eat together. Go shopping a few times a week. We jump in our pool together. We sleep every night together. We sit and talk... discuss,.. debate together. We are making our dreams come true together. The main thing is TOGETHER! And that right there is the most important to us both. We started this journey because we knew we had to have a life together. We both had great lives seperate of each other but once our lives became one our life is now beyond our wildest dream!
Now I am not saying everything is perfect all the time... I am simply stating we are PERFECTLY HAPPY TOGETHER!!!!

    Hi--
As an update to our pending AOS, I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from one of my congressman's aides. She forwarded her entire USCIS correspondence to us, and they're saying that we should have an answer/request for more information/interview date within 45 days; that would put it at just about a year from when we filed for the AOS. It was interesting that USCIS email reveals that the case is still at the California center, even though the person at the call center told me it is being transferred to our local office. (The call center guy also told us that we should expect an answer in 15 days.)
I hope that those of you who have also been waiting for 10 months have better luck than we do!

Sunny123 reacted to Shoot Em Straight in What was it like to see him for the first time?
Tired my best to not be stinky & fatigued looking...from the travel, and laboriously pushed my 3 large bags out to the main area of the airport and did not see him.
Tried not to look too lost because there was plenty of "help" just waiting. Walked up and down the airport pushing my cart...wondering why I did not have his cell phone at hand and for a moment realizing I was in a new country, no dirhams and what the heck did I get into. It passed.
Was eyeing a person at the cafe using a laptop (Oh, how fast I could call him through yahoo phone out!) when I turned and spotted an official at the airport.
Flagged him down and asked if there was another arrival area?
He was so so so helpful Welcoming me to Morocco, almost father like letting me know he is there to help and we will find my party.
He sat me down and went to ????
Few minutes later, on my left I seen my future husband quickly walking past my area searching the crowds. He had run from another area to here. I watched him a little more, noted he is tall and loved the way he was looking for something important to him.
    Then called his name.
Later he said he will always remember the feeling hearing me say his name at this moment.
It was not the dreamy way one would want to finally meet, hahaha but it is OUR memory.
I am glad you asked and hope you will have a wonderful time in your meeting.

I can't believe I'm still waiting for my green card!!!! if you look at my timeline, it's been over 7 months now (almost 8). I called USCIS but as always, they give me the same "your case is still on the normal processing time" answer! This is really frustrating.

Tried to put in another service request. its been 30 days since we put in our last one. I guess waiting two weeks to send a copy and paste form letter sets the 30 days until you can file a new one from that date. Good way to get you to go away for 45 days. The clueless level 2 CS woman tried to tell me the local office processing at 4 months is after the all AOS's are sent to California. Are they really so poorly informed or do they just like lying? I'm so starting to hate the USCIS. It gets hard not to just call the CS complete idiots or blatant liars when I'm talking with them. But I just remember to stay polite, even if I'd love to rant at them. Going to get our Senator involved today. The paperwork is already to fax in today. I was going to send to our congresswoman, but the link to her form was broken, so I guess I need to call her office today to get one.

Yah even with me being 5'6 I have to get petite in jeans/pants bcz im shorter from waist down. I don't mind bringing up the weight convo bcz I'm confident per se about it just need to loose weight for health sake & it was said to me by the doc that it would possibly be easier to get pregnant if I could loose weight.

When we eat fruit, my husband is always taking the first bite and then insisting I eat the remaining fruit. Pushing it my hand and saying, "this one is really delicious!" He always wants to give me his sweetest fruit.
Brings me a glass of water when I go to bed (doesn't sound romantic, but it shows he cares).
Adjusting my clothing to make sure nothing risque (by his standards) was showing. Although I found this habit annoying at times, I knew it was because he cared about me.
When I was very sick a few times, he would bring me food and sit by my side. Sometimes doing Charlie Chaplin-like pantomime things to make me laugh.
How about your spouses???? What do they do???

It is my impression that consulates in most northern European (perhaps also most VWP) countries generally tend to be on the very lenient side compared to various consulates around the world. They still have to follow US immigration law of course, but the "presumed immigrant" intent is usually a non-issue in most cases. If you've overstayed of course it adds to the "immigrant intent" presumption, but given your situation I'd have a pretty good feeling.
I'm basing this on personal experience and stories from friends so don't take it as any sort of well documented fact or advice.
I've been to three student visa interviews here in Norway, and have never once been asked to show any ties.
