To start no the fee is now $1070 cheque made out to Dept of Homeland Security send it to Chicago k.
It says and there has been conflicting advice on the passport pics as it says only 2 but then on the Ead and AP they also want 2/ It has been said over and over here that they only use the 2 and photocopy them for the AP and EAD. To be honest we sent 6 photos to be on the safe side but on my EAD card the photo is the one I had taken at bio appointment. SO up to you send 6 or send 2.
If you read the instructions on the guide on here it tells you exactly what copies each form requires. http://www.visajourn...om/content/k1k3
Check this link out of a fellow Aussie I followed it and never had a problem http://www.visajourn...-list-included
    This should help you
We only did 1 cover letter for the whole AOS

What name do you go by now your previous married name? or your maiden name? I used my ex married name as I have been that for 25 years. Where it lists previous names you would put your maiden name.

I hate to say it but if you are thinking pre nuptials now or he was and has changed his mind then you are seriously having doubts about this marriage and relationship. If you are concerned about him passing before you then I strongly suggest you write a will ASAP after your marriage and stipulate exactly what you want done with your assets. After you marry you need to contact a lawyer and get a will written up and make sure all your wishes are met in that will.
When you marry and you sell both properties and buy a new one just make sure everything is in both names so you have some claim over things.
I wish you luck and hopefully you will get more ideas from the people on VJ here.

Everything YouAndDan said you will be right.
You can apply for SSN 2-3 weeks after marriage. We waited and I went in I was in the system and applied for it in my married name as well. If you have issues you can always go to another SS office. Had no problems at all as like you I needed it for our bank accounts and medical. Can't get my drivers license till I have GC in my state of Georgia.

Barbara J got a reaction from katgrl in How can I let the USCIS know what I think of them
We know it takes a long time for all this to process but it's not like going to the local shop for a loaf of bread is it? We pay lots of money and damm I know that for sure but you just can't expect to fill in a form and be allowed to enter a country without some restrictions and formality and regulations. Goodness we started in February and I did not get here till September so I know the pain of waiting and being apart. But this country has to have rules and regulations, and there has to be questions answered as to who the intending immigrant is. They just can't allow any Tom , ####### or Harry in. Imagine what it would be like if it was easy as that, heavens there would be all sorts of people living here and in other countries, criminal, con artists, murderers and so on. Someone told me while I was waiting to come here that there is no victory without the fight.
I know it is a long process but so worth it in the end, all the tears have dried now and am happy as pigs in mud. Be patient and all will happen and remember also you are dealing with a government department and nothing happens quickly and that applies to most countries trust me.

Barbara J got a reaction from VanessaTony in How long does it take to get Green Card
After you marry you will apply for AOS and receive a conditional green card for 2 years.Within 90 days of your 2 year anniversary of receiving GC you will apply for removal of conditions and receive a GC valid for 10 years. I thik this is what she meant. No you can't travel until you receive AP or GC whichever comes first.

No she can't work till she receives EAD and you will apply for that when you adjust status AOS along with AP after your marriage in January.
She can apply for an SSN before her I-94 expires and as seeing she arrived here 6th November she can apply for that now as it has been a few weeks and she will be on the system.

Barbara J got a reaction from Harpa Timsah in Please advise me on AOS and i-693!
You don't have to have a new medical done but his vaccinations need to be transcribed over on to the I-693. Get in touch with a civil surgeon in your area which you will find on USCIS site and make an appointment to JUST have the vaccinations transcribed over, you will need part 1.2 and 5 and that's it , they will then give that back to you in a sealed envelope and you send that in with I-485. You will need to take his vaccination record so doc can do this . Hope this helps. Oh make sure they give you a copy of I-693.
If you chose not to send in I-693 your choice as some just send in vaccination report and have no RFE's I just didn't risk it is all.

Ahh you don't need an SSN to get married but can apply for one 3 weeks after as you will be in the system of H Security by then and as far as the AOS it is $1010 now and the EAD and AP are waived and included along with the biometrics..

Please and I stress please download the instructions for 129F from USCIS and read them thoroughly. It is so important not to miss anything. Just make sure this is what you really want as there have been a lot of sad cases on here lately with certain country fiance petitions.

Thanks Ang but you can only track express post once it arrives as I checked with Aussie post. The thing is this divorce decree was sent to USCIS in america from my fiance and we got approved there but for some reason it has gone missing and they only have the 2 of them not 3. But they did not let me know this before my interview. So we expressed posted a notarised copy of divorce decree and they got it last Monday but when I emailed them wed they said they had not received it so i checked and tracked it and it had arrived , I emailed them back and they have not returned my email at all. I sent another this morning but nothing. they can't ask for originals as they don't give them when you divorce all you get is a print out lol but they accept certified copies and if USCIS did then why can't US consulate here. In my interview letter they said the decree I sent in from me was not an original OMG so i got family law court to send me another one with a red stamp on it,(as they changed the colouring to black) when I handed it over she gave it back to me and said thats ok the one we have is fine. geese.
I don't now whether to book my flight for the weekend or not as I need to get home we leave Wed 8th for Florida as thats where we are getting married. I have changed 2 flights already
