Hi guys,
I'm currently waiting for the second NOA, It has been 2months since I submitted my application
and I know that the 2 months is still within the average time in getting the 2nd NOA. I was
just curious to know if there was any other way to check status updates on the application?
I have been checking it using the USCIS website and using the application # provided.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
I will be moving soon so I will have a change of address. My K-1 visa application has already been sent. I would like to
know who do I contact or notify of the change of address? I'm guessing the sooner I notify them the better?
Thanks for replying

So just to recap, she doesn't need to get vaccinations before hand because it will be provided with the medical exam and it's included in the fee?
We're not at that part yet, but we're just trying to be a step ahead. Thanks guys

Hey Guys,
Well, my fiance was looking for her vaccination records and she can't find all of them. She only has some of the records. I read that she needs to have her vaccinations done for the medical exam. Will she be given the vaccinations at St. Luke's (Philippines) and if so, how much would that cost? Or is that included in the Medical Exam fee?
Or can she get vaccinations before she goes to Manila? Which would you recommend?
Thanks for the help.

from what country are you from?
in my case the Physician just asked me to open my mouth and asked me if i have dentures or something..but other than..she didn't say anything..
i don't think that dental records are needed for US visa application..
She's in the Philippines
Thanks guys for the quick response.

My fiancee read on another forum that Dental records and other dental information are necessary for the medical examination. I was wondering if there is any truth to that?
For example, she says that if there was a cavity or a hole in your tooth that it would have to be filled up before going to the medical exam? Is that true?
Any dental information regarding medical exam before interview would be appreciated because I don't know what she's talking about.
Thanks

My Fiancee and I are engaged in the sense that we have decided to get married, but I have not proposed to her officially. The last time I met her, I was unable to propose because I didn't have the ring and I was planning on going back to the Philippines before filing for the visa. But we decided to file ahead anyways. Just a little background, we've been together for almost 6years. We met in college and we've been together since 1st year.
My question is how important is actually being engaged? I mean, is the proposal really important during the interview process? Do they want to see an engagement ring on her finger or would it be okay to say that I didn't propose officially, but we have decided to get married. I just submitted my K1 application and my fiancee voiced her opinion that she is afraid that the CO will ask her about the engagement ring/proposal and she doesn't want to say I didn't propose.
What do you guys think? Thanks

Hey guys,
I'm filling out my G-325A and I'm not too sure about the A# and the Naturalization #.
Yes, I am a naturalized Citizen and from what I gather, the A# is also on the Certificate of Naturalization and above it is the Certificate Number of Naturalization.
My question is do I put both numbers on the form?
(Probably a dumb question, but I just want to make sure it's right)
Thanks

1. Which ever method you prefer...USCIS won't care either way.
2. Send the copies, not the originals (keep the originals for your records)
3. No, this is not necessary.
So it's not necessary to send in 4 copies, just 1? thank for the quick reply

My fiancee wrote the address of VT when she mailed me her letter of intent. Do I have to get her to make a new one and send it back with Dallas address? Or can I just keep it as is, but send the whole packet to Dallas and not VT?
-
Alright, so another topic by me..YAY!
Anyways, I am still compiling all my papers and my goal is to send the application by Friday before I go to work.
1. So, I'm getting the pictures ready and I'm not sure how to send it. Do I send in printed copies of the pictures of us during our last meeting and older pictures from our college days. Or would it be alright to compile the pictures in a word document and print them out on a normal paper?
2. Also about my boarding passes/itineraries/receipts and that sort to prove we met within the last 2 years, do I send a copy or the original?
3. Lastly, my fiancee just brought this up, she said that we need to submit 4 copies of the G-325A form, is this true? I thought I read somewhere that it used to be 4 copies with the old form, but not the new one?
Sorry for all these questions, I really just want to be ready and not have to redo anything.
Thanks for all the help, it is greatly appreciated.
(I probably will have more questions the next couple days.
thnx)

Hey Guys, I am compiling all the papers and getting ready to send my application. I just want to make sure I have everything and I understand everything.
Any advice/help/ideas/criticisms or anything at all regarding my papers, please let me know. Thanks (Using the guide as a checklist)
I will be sending in a personal check for the $455 fee (is that still preferable, so I can see that it has been cashed?)
I have the cover letter ready, but I was told that I can include a brief timeline of my relationship with my girlfriend, is that recommended to add?
I-129F filled out by hand due to insufficient space for answers when using the computer w/ attached copy of description on how we last met within 2yrs
I have plenty of pictures included from our trip when I last visited her, I also included boarding passes and itineraries of our vacation. I don't have my boarding pass to the Philippines, but I have both our boarding passes when we went to different cities in the philippines for vacation. We have been together for almost 6yrs starting from when we met in college in the Philippines. So should I include letters, pictures and other proof of our ongoing relationship now or is that something she needs to bring when she goes for interview?
Original statements of intent to marry from both myself and my fiance (On the statement itself, I followed the example here in VJ, but the address my fiance put down was Vermont, before we knew that we should send to Texas, should I get a new letter from her or can I just leave it as Vermont, but send to Texas when I file?)
G-325A filled out both by myself and my fiance, handwritten again due to insufficient space.
Passport type photo of myself and fiance done and placed in bag with proper labels.
I have a copy of my Naturalization form, but the back is empty, so I only need to send the front copy right? and should I send a copy of my passport just in case?
CLARIFICATION
Do I need to send in a copy of my most recent (2009) tax return?
Is the affidavit of support sent in during this time? (I probably will use a co-sign because my tax return from last year is below poverty line, but this year it should be above the line since I just recently been promoted to full-time. But I have been working the same job for over 2 years already.
Along with these papers, do I send in a letter from my manager that I am now full-time and how long I have worked there?
Please let me know if I am missing anything and/or need to change anything.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this lengthy post. I really appreciate it.
(just want to make sure everything is sent in correctly the 1st time)

Hi Guys,
Me again, I tried searching for the answer, but I just couldn't find what I was looking for.
I read the guide for what is needed for when I submit my application to start the Fiance Visa K1 Process.
But, I was told that I would need to send an Affidavit of Support with along with my application. So basically
I'm trying to ask is when exactly do I send in my Affidavit of Support? I had previously thought it was sent
with my fiance when she goes in the interview.
Thanks again

Hello again!
Since you guys were quick to reply to my previous post, I figured I'd ask some more questions.
Regarding the biographical data. My fiance tried to fill in the blanks provided in the form, but some of her answers are incomplete.
Such as when she writes her name, it is missing 2-3 letters and also other answers are affected. I was thinking in adding an addendum
on a separate sheet of paper stapled to the back of the form. Is that the correct way or is there a more official way in correcting this problem.
Thank you in advance

I'd start thinking about and saving money for Adjustment of Status - $1010. It is after the visa issuance and marriage but some people get surprised with the price due to insufficient research and preparation.
I actually already know about the adjustment of status fee, but that I can handle since she would already be here and I can just pay for it with her. I am more worried about if she goes to the Embassy in Manila because she will be by herself and I don't want her to be lacking financially.
So you say that there will be other fees such as the fee for sending the visa through DHL (or any courier equivalent) and maybe other smaller fees?
Is there anyone here that would know approximately how much that would be in pesos? Or a recommendation as to how much she should bring with her?
Thanks guys for the replies
-
yes everything you have is right.the 455 is the petition fee,the 350 is the visa fee,the 213.35 is the medical fee.all cover everything.good luck.
Is there any other fees required once my fiance is in the US Embassy? Other than the $350?
I'd rather be prepared when she goes in knowing what to expect rather than going in blind and not having enough money for fees.
Thanks for your quick reply

Greetings!
This is my first time posting here and I think this is the right place to ask. I have searched all around the internet and this forum site is by far the best and most comprehensive.
I am trying to find the actual payment fees for each step of the K-1 visa application process. Let me write down what I know and please feel free to add-on/correct/advice or whatever that needs to be done. Thank you for the help, I am sure this is only the beginning, as I know I will need further help. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. FYI, I am applying for a K-1 Visa in the Philippines.
These are the processes and fees that I have researched:
K-1 application: $455
the next step I am unsure about, there is a $350 charge for my fiance when she goes for interview. Can someone please break this down as to what this fee includes? Does this include the fee for the visa, interview, processing, etc...
Medical Examination: $213.35 (does this cover all costs for the medical exam? excluding repeat tests?)
I guess this is all the fees I have found. This doesn't include the change of status/adjustment of status after marriage.
PLS FEEL FREE TO ADD ON WHAT I AM MISSING AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION.
thank you so much
Has anyone tried transfering to a different Service Center
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I called USCIS today on my 5 month mark and asked about the status of my case. They gave me the same answer again that they are still doing cases for July 24th. The lady actually said that I could try to file for expedition and she read me all available options. Of course, none of those options would work or might be hard to prove in my case. So I asked about transfering my petition to CSC. She told me it was possible, I would just need to call CSC and asked them to request a transfer of my file, but CSC would need to approve my request 1st. If that is approved, does my petition start all the way at the bottom or is it still gonna be processed by the dates the NOA1 was received? Thanks
