Though I'll bet that within the year, we see this one go to court and there be long, drawn out lawsuits about 'parental choice.'

Personally, I don't think that it's 'parental choice' to make your child a public health risk. I think that's negligence. Yes, there are children for whom vaccines are contraindicated and those children should absolutely not receive them, but parents who make the 'choice' not to vaccinate are making the choice to play russian roulette with the children who can't be vaccinated. That shouldn't be allowed.

If the situations were reversed and a black kid with drug and trespassing charges shot a white person, but said something like "you rape our women, you have to go" beforehand ... LIB would be the first to judge the shooter for his hate-crime.

I'm not saying that he acted as a normal person would. I'm saying you cannot blame his actions on mental illness. Racism isn't a mental illness and every murderer is not mentally ill. Some people are filled with hate and some people act on that hate.

Why isn't anyone saying he's mentally ill? 11 shot? Clearly he's not in his right mind. I wonder if when they catch him will the judge say his family are also the victims...

i'm going to guess that what's wrong with him is he is a murderer. i'm sure there are more layers to him than that, but i can't really wrap my head around the fact that he sat with the people he killed for an hour and still decided to go through with it.

Outside of the US, you can count these kind of crazy things on one hand in all of the rest of the developed world. The fatalities are few. Nobody kills their own like Americans do.

It may not be rational but that does not make it a mental illness. Every time one of these white people gun down a bunch of other people and everyone starts screaming MENTAL ILLNESS, it delegitimizes actual mental illnesses and creates such an unnecessary stigma on people who are genuinely sick.
Racism is taught and learned and irrational, but it is not an illness.

Of course it's sick. But using the word sick to describe it does not make it an actual illness. Calling it mental illness makes it sound like the person isn't responsible for their actions because they're ill. And in this case, that's definitely not what happened. So stop calling him mentally ill because he wasn't. He may not have been acting rationally and he may have done something most people would never do, but he is not suffering from any kind of illness. He's a racist with a gun.
