Guys, I agree that sometimes the future predictions are not quite a research and might be annoying..but the immigration system is broken and what could have been done easier is being done at a snail's pace..So take everything in the stride..

August 1st of 2001 was when the USCIS finished counting the LIFE Act petitions (there was just too many of them), but it is still the rule for USCIS to process (or begin to process) the LIFE Act petitions by May 1st of 2001 when LIFE Act program formally ended. Thus, about six months after the PD of May 1st, 2001 have passed we can say that most, if not all, of the LIFE Act beneficiaries have adjusted their statuses with a degree of certainty.
Like I have said previously, it's been cumulatively over 9 months since the Retrogression of 2011 when PD of May 1st, 2001 came up. I do think that it's likely for all of the LIFE Act beneficiaries to have finished their AOS by now. But we need to wait till October to have a clearer idea about the future progression of the PD movement when new quota will be available, though that still doesn't negate the possibility that the PD can again slow down, let alone that of another retrogression.

So I heard about this new law that's only lasting from aug 1 to aug 15. That a US citizen can petition for his/her silbling and the whole process will be completed within one year. I have done research about this and haven't found much on it, so I will like to know if this is true???

Sears.. I love Kenmore appliances. They're consistently rated very high in consumer reports. In my old appt, in Canada, the stove and the fridge were both Kenmore and both worked pretty well, but I'm sure they were also both from the 60s. I had the minor problem of water in the bottom of the fridge that was fixed by cleaning out the drain valve, and the stove had rusty connectors for the burners so occasionally they needed to be poked at to work, but the oven was fantastic. Overall pretty good for old appliances.
Debbie... some people are just stupid, they don't want to learn. Others think they have it all figured out. Let them be. You can only help someone so much, and if it's not the answer they want to hear, they're being closed minded so no answer will work for them except the one they want to hear.
People say that it's the people that don't take no for an answer that get what they want. But it's a misunderstood concept. When you hear no, that doesn't mean keep smashing your head into the wall until that person says yes. That's insanity (doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.) It means to take a new route, find a new way, to get what you want. Just because you can't jump from A to Z doesn't mean that you can't go from A to C to Z or A to C to J to T to Z. There generally is a route, but people are inherently lazy. Progress is made because people are lazy but the person who makes whatever it is easier, that has found an interest that keeps their brain moving and are NOT being lazy. Not everything should be made easier though. The harder it is, the better you feel about obtaining the goal! Someone who loses 5lbs probably doesn't feel the same joy in their accomplishment as someone who loses 50, or 150!
Basically you can only help someone who is actually willing to help themselves.

Yes she has to go back to India to appear at the interview. Those on student visa cannot apply for adjustment of status.

Studen Visa is not dual intent, so, she has to prefer either Student Visa or F4 Visa..
....If she gets F4 visa, she can go to US and apply for admission for dental..why need a visa for that..

PD April 30, 2001. Received email today that card was mailed out today July 3rd 2013. Checked status online on USCIS website says Card Production. Doing my happy dance now guys!!!

What if

The Senate Bill is not pased - In other words, there's a good chance that nothing is going to change....the F4 category will not be eliminated...

The House Republicans does not take up this Bill or for that matter any immigration bill - Irrespective of increasing the fences across the miles to strengthen the Border Security, they might avoid the bill but they cannot ignore the fact that there are 11 million undocumented inside US.

A developed nation like US, across the political lines, being a nation of immigrants, cannot live without "Common Sense" approach.

In a way i appreciate the effort by the bipartisan group to bring back the Innovation to the Land of Opportunity to grow and move the Nation forward...

They might look at petitions pending at USCIS only and not at NVC..

Ok let's do some math..
40%(As per 2013 CIR) of 480000 = 192000
192000 - 65000(existing F4 Category Visas) = 127000
127000 * 18months(for CIR enactment) = 2286000
Current Backlog (till November 2012) = 2,473,114
2473114 - 2286000 = 187114
If the unused/recaptured FB4 visas = 290000
Then the backlog for F4 Visas can be eliminated..it works...
