It is an I-797 stating your approval and welcome to the U.S. It is not special. Don't worry too much. Meanwhile, you can get an I551 stamp by scheduling an info pass. Good luck.

Visa Grant reacted to umiikichhi in Visa interview scheduled in Doha and I'm in New Delhi since 18 months.
OK friends..Finally..I received an email from the Immigration Unit -US Embassy, New Delhi mentioning my File has been requested to be sent from Doha to Delhi..My interview was originally scheduled for 3rd May 2015. While my passport would still have had 6 months and 8 days validity (to be precise) which is still more than the required 6 months to travel as its due to expire on November 10th.
They have mentioned it's gonna take upto 15 days to send my file from Doha to Delhi. But, isn't it harsh on me to suffer when I had clearly notified the NVC for the change of location? I anyways requested for ateast the same interview date (if not earlier). Considering my case was already processed for an interview..is it too much to ask..to have the interview on the date originally scheduled?
Need your feedback guys? Appreciate your input.
    Cheers

    1) Who has to submit DS-260 (I think it is applicant). Can it be filled by petitioner and saved to make sure it is correct and applicant can submit it. If not Can I get PDF of DS-260 from the site so that I can fill it out, scan and send it to my daughter so she can fill it out correctly and submit it
An Applicant has to fill DS-260 form. Yes, it can be filled by petitioner if petitioner has all the necessary information asked in the form to fill. You can make endless changes to the form once you get started and save it "n" number of times but only on the their website: ceac.state.gov. Every time you need to log in with ur case number and invoice ID whether u are a petitioner or an applicant it doesnt matter. You can fill out the form and save it for future changes, then ur daughter log in from Pakistan and make changes accordingly and save it then and there.
TIP to fill out easily: Call ur daughter on skype, and log in to the website and ask all the information ur daughter has like Passport number, issuing authority, her schooling, college details, employment details, and their addresses etc. because these are some detailed info which an applicant can tell about himself not a petitioner. Once you done with the form, tell your daughter to log in to the website: ceac.state.gov and go through it and if any changes required then she could do that and save it. For your satisfaction, log in again and check it again.
DS-260 is very typical and detailed form and requires time because it asks many questions therefore its not a task to finish it in just one day, you need to get handy with many information. You can't download the form DS-260 in pdf format or in any format, all you need to log in and save it until you don't submit it. Once you submit the form YOU CAN'T MAKE ANY CHANGES, you can print the form for future reference because they might ask some questions from your DS-260 during the interview. Mine has been submitted and I can see my DS-260 and take print out anytime I want but can't make any changes now.
By d way, I took only an hour to fill out and submit it on just same day.
    2) What is included in IV Package i.e. what forms and documents. It is for unmarried daughter. I am aware of following documents 1) Police certificate for my daughter 2) Passport photocopy 3) 2 passport pictures 4) Birth certificate. Your daughter MUST put the documents in following order ONLY: First Page: The Bar-Code Sheet which states the Case Number of your case and applicant's name and a Bar-code of your case. Second Page: Document Cover Sheet, where an applicant (ur daughter) need to check "Enclosed" boxes of those items which she's sending in IV package, other than required needs to get check on "Not Applicable" boxes. Third Page: Photocopy of Birth Certificate. Fourth Page: Photocopy of Valid Passport. Fifth Page: 2 Photographs (2x2 inches). Sixth Page & the Last Page: Photocopy of Police Certificate. NOTE: Document Cover Sheet remains the same for both AOS and IV packages but Bar-Code Sheets will be different for both packages or both IV and AOS has their own Bar-Code Sheets you will be access those sheets once paid the fees for both AOS and IV fee. One more tip: Tell your daughter to write the case number on right hand side top corner of every document including Birth Certificate, Passport copies, Police certificates and write it on the back of the photographs with the name of applicant as well. And you should do the same on financial documents as well while sending the AOS package to NVC. I hope my reply will help you a bit. Best of luck for your case!!

    Hi Puru,
I finally heard from the NVC yesterday, they sent a letter titled NVC Welcome Letter (ACL), the letter contains my NVC Case Number and Invoice ID Number and I was directed to nvc.state.gov to begin NVC processing.
They also sent another letter to my petitioner quoting all my particulars and including Affidavit of Support Fee Invoice of $120 to be paid by my petitioner.
Now my mind is at rest, I can go on with the filing of the forms and start getting all the required document.
Puru, I still want to thank you and others who have helped so far and I will still need your help when necessary.
    Thanks

Do you see that? They have sent you the welcome letter and must activated the form DS-261 as well, whereas you were not aware of it. Keep in touch with NVC and update them with applicant's and petitioner's e-mail addresses.
Meanwhile, start collecting the civil documents and tell your mother to fill out affidavit of support form and gather all necessary financial documents which are applicable to your case.

    Thanks Visa Grant!!
I have been waiting for this activity since I had been left out alone here in India and didn't succeed to get the greencard back in year 2007. Its been almost 8 years without parents with no marriage and with strong mental attitude towards life in a hope of better tomorrow. It took years in studying this immigration rule book of america and to deal with during different occasions and events with different expertise and with the helpful advises from the specialists like you. No matter what this Visa Journey really helped many lives in this world right now.
Superb work done by admin and its team!! And special thanks to the people like you who are still contributing after completion of your immigration journey.

NVC starts consular processing when the PD is going to be current within upcoming 6 months. Consular processing takes time that's why NVC approach applicant and petitioner in this regard to deal with the complex paperwork which actually requires some time in this activity.
If ur PD is 7th Dec 2008 then you should try calling NVC non stop. If I were in ur shoes then I couldn't sleep until I made them convince to open my case for consular processing.
GOLDEN RULE: WHEN PD BECOMES CURRENT THEN YOUR CASE BECOMES ELIGIBLE TO GET THE VISA NUMBER (Which means case got an interview letter when pd becomes current in bulletin) You are equally responsible to clear out ur case asap otherwise you have already waited for ages and in this way you will keep on wait and leave this system on its own .... Its ur necessity not theirs.
SO, don't waste ur time and start calling NVC and won't hung up unless you got the assurance.

    Following-to-Join Benefits
This section is for beneficiaries who became permanent residents through a preference classification. If you were married and/or had children who did not obtain permanent residence at the same time you did, they may be eligible for follow-to-join benefits. This means that you do not have to submit a separate Form I-130 for your spouse and/or children. In addition, your spouse and/or children will not have to wait any extra time for a visa number to become available. In this case, you may simply notify a U.S. consulate that you are a permanent resident so that your spouse and/or children can apply for an immigrant visa.
Your spouse and/or children may be eligible for following-to-join benefits if:
The relationship existed at the time you became a permanent resident and still exists, AND You received an immigrant visa or adjusted status in a preference category. If your family member falls into this category and you adjusted to permanent residency in the United States, you may submit the following:
Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition A copy of the original application or petition that you used to apply for immigrant status A copy of Form I-797, Notice of Action, for the original application or petition A copy of your Form I-551 (green card) If you are in the United States and have not yet filed to adjust your status to permanent resident, you can file Form I-824 with your Form I-485, in which case no supporting documents are needed other than those submitted with Form I-485.
If you received the immigrant visa overseas, you may contact the National Visa Center (NVC) for follow-to-join information. Send your inquiry by e-mail to NVCInquiry@state.gov or by writing to the National Visa Center, ATTN: WC, 32 Rochester Ave., Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909.
To download the forms and instructions mentioned above, see the corresponding link in the “Forms” section to the right.

I understood your thought, but what CO responds to your question will be only this option, if you r ok with this, then you can go ahead with this option at the time of the Interview....Good Luck..
You have to call NVC and ask them to add your spouse and kid's information to your case file..
    Good Luck
So we have a CSPA expert in this forum...

As you're new to the forum, we suggest waiting out the 24-48 hours response time lag. Don't need to stress if you've already contacted the Consulate; it's been only 2 days. I speak from experience, they're timely about responding to inquiries.

    Hi,
It's 12-14 years for a USC to petition a brother.
There is no way to make it faster. There is no other visa. His situation does not matter.
The suicide may be a factor about his mental health when the petition matures in 12-14 years.

I think DS 260 won't be activated until you've submitted your COA and it gets processed.

I have been hoping for the same for several years... Mine PD is June 2003 and I am gonna age out in July,2016...
