I’m Very Happy for You. This page has a very positive look at this subject. I have a good feeling when I read this post, but if you will go to the Egypt Portal Page you will find in Egypt Hot Topics ( on the right side of the page) A Topic entitled "Family Acceptance" Where you will see how a woman can be bashed and condemned by many for loving a younger man. It isn’t seen as love in so many ppl’s eyes only seen as the man being too young. He’s 22 she’s 38. I found myself writing on this post as I am older than my fiancé. On that post ppl had become so cruel that additional posting was stopped. To me it was the saddest display I had ever seen. Giving advice was one thing but being cruel was just not what that lady deserved. Where I come from at age 18 you’re old enough to make your own decisions. I realize not everyone will agree with age difference, but please don’t place judgement on others. Many Thanks to everyone posting here who knows what the meaning of LOVE is

Not all Berbers speak Arabic. And you're saying that speaking Arabic makes you Arab? That's silly.

No, they aren't. And neither is it naive or uneducated of them to say they are in fact Berber.

this thread consistently appears to be nothing more than a venue to post negativity towards islam and as such it closed.
a reminder to all of the following:
Post Content intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a broad demographic or group of people identified by a unifying trait or characteristic (discrimination). For instance, racist or sexist content may be considered hate speech.
Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users.
hanging in there - do not restart this thread or anything similar to it in the future. it is obvious from your post history that you have an axe to grind with this religion. do not do it on vj and especially within this forum.

Any of us could easily find quotes and examples from religions which would seem extreme or "radical". For example, I could post about the Westboro Baptist/Christian Church, which congregates and protests in vile ways against anyone/anything they deem liberal or not in line with their conserative beliefs. For example, they protested Elizabeth Edwards' funeral with signs that said "Thank God for Cancer". They also protest at fallen US soldiers' funerals, trying to disrupt the final goodbye for soldiers' family & loved ones.
I could look at that and say, "Is it me or are Christians in the US getting more radical?" AND, I could legitimately gripe that I didn't want my tax dollars paying for their right to protest and their need fo police protection where they protest. BUT, I don't & I wouldn't because I know that sweeping generalizations like that are ignorant, reactionary, and not very deep thinking.
Just a mere one example of how the thoughts and actions of a few in a religion other than Islam can be generalized, inflamed, and used for fear baiting. There are many other not related to Islam that easily pop into mind. (Pedophile priests = hmmm, aren't Catholics in the US getting more radically perverted?) I'm sure you won't get it because you're so blinded by your need to malign Muslims.
    No response needed or wanted.

sounds kinda cold and heartless to take someone away from their family and life just to see if she works for you...plus saying send her back sounds like a package you're returning because it didn't fit. this is a person, no matter what her intentions are in the matter she's human and deserves to be treated so.

The thing that bugs me about some members here is that they act like the US government is some kind of customer-service oriented business. The last time I checked, the processing times website doesn't say, "Get your approval in 5 months or it's free!" USCIS is NOT Pizza Hut, and we are not ordering pizzas here. We are paying for the cost to move to a different country and they are not obligated to process it quickly. It takes as long as it takes and if people can't handle that, they need to go elsewhere. They don't owe us speedy service, they are not a business.

I debated replying to this because I don't want to cause trouble but the bolded sentence annoyed me too much to ignore.
I kinda had to figure you would bring up the fact that I received my NOA2. That is besides the point, because I waited almost 5 months, just as the people in this thread have done. Some are over 5 months, some are close to 5 months. It's not like I magically got my NOA2 in 2 months. And, if you actually go back and read the threads, when people were b!tching and moaning about CSC being out of the processing times of 5 months, I actually piped up and said no they were not. Does it suck to wait? Yeah, it sucks.
You keep moaning about the service you are or aren't receiving. Venting is one thing, and we all do it, but complaining that we aren't getting the service we "paid for" is not going to help anything. You pay for what you get. Your fiance actually paid to petition you to apply for a visa, NOT for it to DEFINITELY BE DONE WITHIN 5 months. CSC will not issue any refunds or anything of the sorts if someone is not approved after 5 months. It's just never going to happen.
And, I'm quite familiar that the "process" does not end with USCIS's service centres. I'm familiar with NVC, and the consulates, the POE, then EAD/AP/Green card, then 10 year green card, then Naturalization, if a person so chooses and qualifies. I, too, have researched my consulate. And happen to know it is one of the slowest in the world. Is it fair? NOPE. Am I grateful to have the opportunity to present my case to a CO and pray he finds the validity in my relationship and grant me a visa? YUP.
Your comment to J was uncalled for. Yes, she gets to see her fiance more often than a lot of couples, but she also gave up her entire life to do that. She gave up her 6 figure job and her own place and everything she had created for herself in adulthood to be close to A. We all make sacrifices in this process, so do not discredit someone just because they get to see their fiance fairly often.
Your sense of entitlement in this process will not get your far. If you go into your interview with guns a'blazing and ready to tell a CO how grossly unfair this process is, be prepared to be disappointed.
    Count your blessings.

Unfortunately a lot of men of Arab descent make a bad name for THEMSELVES with their behavior as we've seen in this forum time and again. No one has to do it to them, they do it to themselves.

And also you know what folks?........There isn't anything you can do about it and there is no sense in trying to make any sense about it. You just have to wait it out. Take up a new hobbie. Talk to your fiance(e) on Skype. Go paint the bathroom. That was the deal last year when I was in your shoes. It will be what it will be and when it will be. If you ahve submitted all the proper documents and you have a real relationship, everything will go well.

There isn't a separate box for "clear as snow" petitions. USCIS is receiving close to 500,000 petitions a month so which one of the "clear as snow" petitioners gets to go first? If you want to find a more accurate target for your frustration, it would be all of the rest of us petitioning for visa benefits. Personally, I think a 5 month wait when there are 1.5 million pending petitions is acceptable. Good luck with your NOA2. Maybe it will be in one of the more productive adjudicator's queue.

I read it as two seperate issues - one that they get into arguments and sometimes he's wrong but he doesn't apologize for being wrong AND that he's having adjustment issues. They may be having arguments due to the adjustment but they may be having other arguments not related to adjustment that he also doesn't apologize for. I've been through the adjustment phase (lasted over a year) and it sucked so bad for both my husband and I but I never felt it was a good excuse for either of us to behave badly. And we did behave badly at times. Adjustment does not give this guy the right to be mean to his wife. Now we don't know what the OP's idea of harsh is, like you said. But he should be in tune with what his wife's idea of harsh is and act accordingly and vice versa. It's very easy to run out of patience with someone who refuses to do anything but sit around and mope and act like a jackass especially when you've bent over backwards to get him here.
