I know the feeling. My husband and I were a couple for 10 years before immigration stuff and getting married, yet always still had those nerves when dealing with one person having our lives in their sole hands.

Yes, you will be fine. It's relaxing that's the hardest part. 🤪

AOS interview in five days... I know what to expect, since I went through it before with Husband #1 (aka Voldemort aka Voldy), but the reality of it happening is starting to sink in with Alex. I reminded him that we have gone over and above what is needed to meet all the requirements; we were in that unlucky cohort of people who had to submit an I-944 before they stopped that, and USCIS no longer even looks at it. And they have mountains of financial information from us showing how we've entwined our lives. Adjusting from a work visa, where we were able to live together well before we got married, certainly made it easier to show this. I keep reminding him of this but he's getting nervous.

I see this as just another hurdle to climb over. We've known each other for nearly half our lives, been a couple for four years, lived together for two and married for one. I know we're going to be fine.

Just making this clear, the K-1 medical is form DS-3025, so what they handed over when arriving was not an I-693.

Someone adjusting from a K-1 does not require an I-693 as long as the DS-3025 was marked off as complete and you filed for AOS within a year of the K-1 medical. See the pinned topic in this forum>

Sometimes they lose your medical forms, and send an RFE for another one. A K-1 doesn't require a new medical if the DS-3025 was marked complete and you file for AOS within a year of your medical. However, you can receive an RFE before, during or after the interview, and will need to get what they are asking of you. Not unheard of at all. Unfortunately, sometimes paperwork goes missing between your port of entry and the USCIS.

Yes, you need to keep chasing for answers. If you get married without finding out the reasons why the fiance visa was denied, you could just be putting yourself in an even bigger mess and setting yourself up for more stress, heartache, and expense.

As others have repeatedly pointed out, having no status on CEAC is NOT normal, even for cases that are actually denied.  Please find out all the details about the visa interview from your fiance before you proceed with any marriage plans.

KayDeeCee got a reaction from ponyboy69 in K1 Visa COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements
The vaccinations for a K-1 are not technically required(but many panel physicians still require them for the K-1 exam), but they are required for AOS. So whatever you did not have done that is a requirement for the I-693 for AOS will be required when you apply to adjust status. I assume they will still have the ability to apply for a religious waiver, but that will be up to the USCIS to decide.

No. Not required to send the copy, and your medical does not age out. A K-1 only needs to file for AOS within a year of the K-1 medical. You stated yours was marked complete. Don't get a new medical unless you get an RFE stating you have to, or the IO says you have to at your interview. Bring your DS-3025 copy with you to your interview. The policy is so new, no one really knows yet. They have not changed/updated anything yet for K-1 AOS medicals. As it stands, if it is not flu season when you get the K-1 exam, then you still don't have to get it if you apply for AOS during flu season. Occasionally people get an IO that doesn't know their own policies and insists they get the flu shot or unnecessary new medical, but policy states it is not required. I have no idea if it will be the same policy for the covid vaccine, as that one is not seasonal. We shall all wait and see what happens in Oct./Nov.

There is no such thing as a medical aging out for a K1 if AOS was applied for within one year after the medical was done. Doesn't matter when the interview happens. Yes there are IO that still try to enforce that you have to get a new one because they don't know their job but that is not the norm.
OP please don't loose sleep over it. You did everything right and there's no need to get a new medical unless the IO at your interview tells you it got lost or is just dumb.

Paid leave is still employed, so have him get a letter from employer saying he works there, and current salary. Provide most recent pay stubs and tax transcript. All of those should be enough to show he meets the income requirements to sponsor you.
