Wife had her interview today in San Antonio.  Very easy... only asked for the items on the N400 appointment list.  Didn't need tax transcripts, photos, etc.  Only asked 6 Civic questions since she got the all right.
 
My conclusion.... I think they are trying to pass everyone.  The 6 questions were like the most basic, easiest questions.  My wife speaks very little English... wasn't a problem.  We applied for N400 on October 2, 2021 and it listed approximate time as 13 months.  Here we are today 74 days later and she has passed her N400 interview. They said she'll get a letter in the mail to come back for Oath Ceremony.  FWIW- There was an oath ceremony today that was lined up at the same time as the N400 interviews.  My wife said they entered and were done and out of the ceremony before the folks waiting for the N400 interviews were called in. I.e. The Oath Ceremony lasted 10 minutes max.
 
Perhaps it varies by Officer or location, but from my eyes, my conclusion is they simply want to collect the $800 (or whatever the cost was) have an interview to just say it was done, and then give everyone their citizenship as fast as possible. I.e. No need to sweat it. We waited 10 years. Part of that was because my wife really speaks zilch english.  I work from home, she's a housewife/1% owner of my company and does light clerical work, and we're together 24 hours/day and usually just speak in Spanish so we were kind of sweating whether she would pass the English part or not or flop in explaining stuff on the application in English.  It was a breeze.  No need for anyone to worry IMO. 
 
Forgot to mention... my wife said the officer told everyone to have their letter and ID out to speed things up. My wife said there were people who did not understand those instructions. Ie. People who clearly spoke less English than my wife, so that clearly says something about the need, or non-need, to really be able to speak or understand English. 

We were only able to get 4 years of tax transcripts off IRS website. That's all they said were available. Should I print out our 2016 tax return and have her take that with her to make it 5 years?

I didn’t either.  Yet at my N-400 interview I was told I made a mistake by not bringing them.   Even though the letter didn’t say to bring t photos.  So I had to get photos taken and had to bring them back the next day. 
 
At oath my naturalization certificate didn’t have my photo from the pics I brought in the next day.  It appears they used photos taken at biometrics 11 months prior.  
 
I later asked an immigration lawyer what they was all about. She said that something’s there are problems printing naturalization certificates (paper jams, ink issues, mis aligned, etc). For security reasons, the system used to print naturalization certificates allows just two attempts to print a certificate with the same photo.  So USCIS likes having a second unique photo so that it can make 4 attempts.  
 
 Possibly your FO will take an extra set of biometrics before your N-400 interview.  When I did my N-400 interview the IO said his digital camera wasn’t working. 
 
It’s up to you: bring photos that probably won’t be used.  or don’t bring photos and possibly delay your oath by moths or years.

I'm actually pretty pleased with most of this. Agreed.  Technically, it should be if you receive subsidies or cost sharing.  However, I would look into it because I have heard many pharmacies say, "Oh, that's medicaid," to folks who bought insurance policies on the healthcare.gov website even though they have 0 subsidies and there is no cost sharing on their plan. I forsee a pretty big mess in the future.  But you are correct, technically that should not be considered a public charge, in my opinion at least, if you simly purchased your insurance plan on the healthcare.gov website and receive 0 subsidies and 0 cost sharing.

It applies for applying for Citizenship.  It was very clear about that.  That's why I wrote my whole post that I wrote because I've seen pamphlets posted here saying it doesne't apply.  The doc on USCIS clearly states that it does apply to LPR's applying for US Citizenship (Naturalization)

I have to assume that since the OP is talking about assets that means perhaps the petitioner does not have income. If that is the case then the question has not been answered. If the petitioner has no income than I beleive the amount needed in the bank is 3 times 125% of poverty level for the household size. So if it is just the petitioner and the beneficiary that would mean roughly $58,000-$60,000 would be needed in the bank. If the petitioner has income but it is not enough to meet the 125% poverty level for the petitioner's household size then I beleive it is 3 times the difference between the petitioners income and 125% of the poverty level for the household size. Assume that the household size is 2 (the petitioner and the beneficiary), and the petitioner makes $15k per year. That would mean the petitioner would need 3 X the difference between roughly $18500 and $15000. So $3,500 times 3= about $10,500.
More info is needed to answer this question. The fact the OP is talking about using assets leads one to believe the petitioner is short on income.

I agree with you that we should withdraw all troops, aid etc from the entire Middle east. It's a little far-fetched though to be unhappy with others burning our flag. At the end of the day, it's just a piece of cloth to them. If burning a piece of cloth disturbs you, I imagine all the deaths to innocent civilians, women, children, and troops on both sides of the fight should be completely tearing you apart. Keep things in perspective. We are killing thousands of their people, and you are worried about a flag (a flag that means nothing to them) being burned?
Flip it around, if it was them destroying our cities, towns and communities non-stop on a daily basis you wouldn't care if people over there were offended if you were burning a piece of cloth (their flag).

While I am no fan of Obama I do believe he is the lesser of two evils come elections this fall. I will of course be writing in Ron Paul.
Regardless, in 2008 Obama campaigned promising to fix the immigration situation. While this isn't an amnesty, and it's not even a path to permanent residency or citizenship... it is a step in the right direction. I for one, praise Obama for getting this done. Like I said, I will be voting for Ron Paul, but I do admire Obama for at least moving immigration in the right direction and sticking to his word. Now it's time to get out of the middle-East... another promise he campaigned on. If he pulls out every troop we have in the middle-East by Nov 1, then I will consider voting for him. Ron Paul was the future America needed and needs, but I would much prefer to see Obama stay in office if Romney is the alternative.

I love how a lot of people on this forum think they know about illegals. They really think that this $10 an hour manager is in a dark room on a red telephone making secret deals and hiring illegals and paying them cash at the end of the day.
Reality is they get a SS number or ITIN for $20 and it is LEGITIMATE.
My wife worked in two well established and well known restaurants. First one, famous burger sit-down restaurant, every single person in the kitchen was illegal besides my wife. They get paid with a check, and taxes come out. And at the end of the year they do get a tax refund.
Second restaurant was the same thing. A ton of illegals. However, they just so happened to get audited and literally the restaurant had to close down for a week or so to fire all the kitchen staff and replace them.
The manager was illegal and he was making good money. Worked for the company for years. Not sure what happened to him but I know it must have sucked to lose that decent job he had. He packed up his things, and his family moved from Michigan to NYC.
Another guy I know has been here for years. He is planning to move back to Mexico soon. I asked him how he is going to go back and he said he can legally get on a plane and fly back!
It is an epidemic but unless we are talking self-employed illegals (construction, landscapers, or housekeepers) they are getting paid by check at their job with their legitimate paperwork and SS/ITIN numbers and paying taxes.
For those that are "angry" that some illegals don't pay taxes. Remember, most of the skilled laborers that are actual US citizens are not properly filing taxes. I know if I have a plumbing issue I am not about to call a "big name" company and get charged $500. I am going on Craigslist and gonna pay $100, and the guy will probably do a much better job! If said guy (US citizen) makes $60,000 a year cash I highly doubt he is gonna voluntarily declare all that income and get the ####### taxed out of him.

Wow!! I have read your 5 posts, and I'm kind of puzzled. I am not going to judge the fact that you have not yet met your fiance in person, yet you wanted to send your I129 without meeting. I do question why in the world you are stressing yourself out with all of this when you are finally going to be meeting in the next few weeks to month. Think about it. You are marrying someone from the middle-east, so I assume the scrutiny will be fierce. You are a woman marrying a middle-eastern man, scrutiny times two, as unfair as that my sound, the CO's of these middle eastern countries look for any reason to deny. You state you met online 4 years ago while you were separated from your husband, so I assume you were not yet divorced; that could raise some eyebrows.
Next and most importantly, you have waited 4 years to meet the supposed love of your life. You should be giggles, butterflies in tummy, and smiles from ear to ear with anxiousness and joy... especially considering you are a female. Yet, you are stressing yourself out trying to get all this paperwork in as fast as possible? It makes no sense. Relax, go spend a month or so with your potential future husband and then come back and do it right. In the long run you will be much happier that you did. There are soooooo many things that can go wrong. In fact, I've seen you type things already with confusion... I-134, sending an itinerary, etc. It's not the itinerary that you need. It's the boarding pass that shows that you were on the flight, and his boarding pass that shows he was on the flight as well to Tunisia. So what's the plan? Arrive in the airport in Tunisia, scan the boarding passes of both of you and the passports of both of you email them to a family member with a couple of quick snaps of a camera and have your packet sent to the lockbox the day you meet? That in itself is going to cause more red flags. My advice, go there, spend time with him, take some good quality, natural, happy photos, create yall's story, enjoy the time together, make a decision AFTER you have spent good quality time together to move forward with the relationship or not, come back and then send in the packet.
The fact you are worrying about all of this as opposed to preparing to spend an extended period of time with your future husband is a HUGE red flag in my opinion. To make matters worse, what if you get there and he's not all that you thought he would be? Because you have jumped through all these hoops before going there you probably would follow through with the visa even if you thought in the back of your mind that there are some things you aren't comfortable with after spending time with him. Simply because you had spent all this time preparing the packet, etc my sense is you would follow through with it, when what you really should be doing is preparing yourself mentally to make sure you are 100% relaxed when you get there. You only really get one shot at this. Make the wrong decision and it can destroy you financially for 10+ years. Further, what if you do go through with the petition and then cancel it eventually? Do you think round 2, with another man is as simple as just starting over? You get thrown into a database after you have petitioned once. Round 2 with another man "should" go through without any hiccups, but because you would probably choose another middle-eastern man(that's an assumption) you've just made everything a lot more difficult for round 2.
Again, I'm not going to question the fact that you wanted to send everything in before actually meeting. I'm questioning how in the world someone who is supposedly about to meet the love of their life, who they have been waiting to meet for 4 years is even concerned about petitions and paperwork right now. You should be flying on top of the world right now with butterflies... not stressed out over paperwork. Think about it. You are stressing yourself out to save a few weeks on a 9-12 month process? Probably even longer in your case because it's a middle-eastern country and the beneficiary is a male. Prepare for 12 months; it could be longer. But for godsakes, go enjoy your time together and forget about all this paperwork and the stress that it can cause. Assume you eventually get put in AP and it takes 2+ years. Aren't you going to wish you would have simply waited that every few weeks to stress yourself out over paperwork and thoroughly enjoyed your time while you are there? Just some things to think about, and if I already question why you want to send in all this paperwork so quickly, guess who else is going to think that as well? You guessed it. I would quit making things so hard on yourself and go enjoy your time.

I disagree because RP has been largely ignored and shunned as "crazy" in the past. Now that he is the number two candidate and will only make up ground as we go, the media will be forced to air his ideas and they'll reach a larger portion of the country. Once that happens, his support will continue to rise and he'll steal votes from Romney and Obama and before you know it, they'll be saying stuff like, "he really could beat Obama."
Once that happens, it's over. Those 3/4 who are going to jump ship will be firmly in the camp of "RP, FTW!"

You can't compare one instance of poor supervision to an entire industry.
If the illegals aren't doing the work, and we were to double the wages of unskilled wages the prices will quadruple. Why? Double the wages and employ workers that are half as efficient. Can you imagine what paying $12 for a pound of strawberries at the supermarket will do to the middle class versus paying $3/pound. I know you are against illegals, but what you fail to realize is that the entire argument to get rid of illegals WILL absolutely wipe out the middle class. We can either let the poor 10% suffer (by keeping illegals) or we can fall into a society where the entire middle class becomes the poor. I personally prefer letting the bottom 10% suffer, so the 70% middle class does not.
Your one example was an isolated incident. You call it stealing. Is it any different than the millions of unskilled workers who refuse to pick berries for minimum wage and collect unemployment month after month? I call that stealing... and that is stealing from everyone who pays taxes... not just your grandparents.

I'm sure it didn't cost you near as much money and heartache that it costs most illegals to get here, and then once they get here, many treat them like absolute sh*t. You have no reason to be bitter against them. I know this K1 process is costly. Heck, the flights and hotels of going back and forth a few times just for the medical, interview, and then to get my fiance is going to cost $7-8k. But, that is probably still not close to what folks in South America pay to get here illegally, only to be treated like scum once they get here. It's wrong, the only way to stop it is open the gates or quit letting anyone in.
It's similar to the fight against drugs. Quit trying to eradicate the drug crops (spending billions), and quit going after the narcotrafficers, gangs, etc. What a complete waste of taxpayer money and lives on both sides. Simply legalize the damn sh*t or make the penalty for using drugs life in prison. Problem solved. I mean, many that do hard core drugs want to die anyways. Why are we trying so hard to stop all the drug traffickers from getting the drugs here? Let them get the drugs here so those that want to take the damn drugs to kill themselves get on with it. I certainly don't want to keep funding their welfare benefits so they can continue to be an unproductive member of society.
