  1. Mary,

In my opinion it will not going to hurt Ishteaq if he visits embassy without letter. I think Ishteaq lives in Lahore or Fasialabad in either way a trip to Islamabad from Faisalabad or Lahore is not a big issue. Wait until Monday morning if he didn’t get anything on Monday visit embassy early Tuesday morning. I think it is not a good idea to visit embassy on Monday because it is first day of the week they got tons of things to handle.

  2. Imran I cannot say the exact date it went to Ishteaq but they had his address incorrect. If she does not get it by tomorrow or Monday I would call TSC and see if they have the packet or even on the weekend if they work. We just picked it up at the courrier when he showed his ID to them. Good luck.

    Mary

Thanks, I am trying to locate our package via tcs website....:)

  4. Very interesting findings of Dr. Tariq Al Swaidan might grasp your attention:

Dr.Tariq Al Swaidan discovered some verses in the

    Holy Qur'an

That mention one thing is equal to another,

i.e. men are equal to women.

    Although this makes sense grammatically,

the astonishing fact is that the number of

times the word man appears in

    the Holy Qur'an

is 24 and number of times the word

    woman appears is also 24,

therefore not only is this phrase correct in

the grammatical sense but also true mathematically,

    i.e. 24 = 24.

Upon further analysis of various verses,

he discovered that this is consistent throughout the whole

    Holy Qur'an

where it says one thing is like another.

See below for astonishing result of

the words mentioned number of times in Arabic

    Holy Qur'an

Dunia (one name for life) 115.

Aakhirat (one name for the life after this world) 115

    Malaika (Angels) 88 . Shayteen (Satan) 88

    Life 145 ..... Death 145

    Benefit 50 Corrupt 50

    People 50 . Messengers 50

Eblees (king of devils) 11 . Seek refuge from Eblees 11

    Museebah (calamity) 75 Thanks ! 75

    Spending (Sadaqah) 73 Satisfaction 73

People who are mislead 17 D Dead people 17

    Muslimeen 41 J Jihad 41

    Gold 8 E Easy life 8

    Magic 60 F Fitnah (dissuasion, misleading) ! 60

Zakat (Taxes Muslims pay to the poor) 32 ...

Barakah (Increasing or blessings of wealth) 32

    Mind 49 N Noor 49

    Tongue 25 S Sermon 25

    Desite 8 F Fear 8

    Speaking publicly 18 P Publicising 18

    Hardship 114 .... Patience 114

    Muhammed 4 S Sharee'ah ( Muhammed's teachings) 4

    Man 24. Woman 24

And amazingly enough have a look how many times

    the following words appear:

    Salat 5, Month 12 , Day 365,

    Sea 32, Land 13

    Sea + land = 32+ 13= 45

    Sea = 32/45100q.=71.11111111%

    Land = 13/45100 = 28.88888889%

    Sea + land 100.00%

Modern science has only recently proven that the water covers

    71.111% of the

earth, while the land covers 28.889%.

Is this a coincidence? Question is that

Who taught Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) all this?

Reply automatically comes in mind that

    ALMIGHTY ALLAH

    taught him.

    This as the

    Holy Qur'an

    also tells us this.

please pass this on to all your friends

    Aayah 87 of Suraa (Chapter) Al-Anbia ! < /P>

    para 17:

    LA ILAHA ILA ANTA

    SUBHANAKA INI KUNTU MINA ZALIMEEN.

    During the next 60 seconds,

    stop whatever you are doing,

    and take this opportunity.

(Literally, it is only 1 minute).

All you have to do is

    The following:

PLEASE SEND THIS TO ALL PEOPLE THE YOU KNOW

  5. Below is the extract from the post I found some where on VJ may be any of you already read it anyway as most of our brothers and sisters are on AR in this thread so in my opinion this article will works for all as a moral support!! Cheers

We WON!! After more than 1 year of struggling with the "Administrative Procedure / Review", starting with an K3 Visa application / interviewin April 2005, then the CR1 Visa interview in October 2005, eventually the Mumbai Consulate HAD to issue an IR1 Visa. First a CR1 Visa was issued. But I returned it asking for the IR1 visa since we had completed 2 years of marriage while waiting for the AR to be completed. The IR1 was then issued immediately.

Our case moved swiftly only after we were able to get the DOS to inquire and intervene in our case. Everything got wrapped up in less than 10 days. No Senator or Congress Rep. were of any help. It was just my wife, a common American who made DOS sit up and take notice.

Some people over here are aware of our case but many might not since all my messages are erased after the site crashed some few weeks back. I will try to put up the entire saga as soon as possible in one post for those looking for information / guidance.

  7. Need some words of wisdom from U guys once my wife will get package 3.5. Anythings specials we have to take care or just sign papers and send them back to embassy in order for them to schedule our interview.

Here is list of the documents I will send to my wife for our interview.

    1) DS-230 (completed and filled out with Adobe Acrobat Pro, since I've heard they prefer and may require typewritten or computer filled application rather than hand-written application forms)

    2) I-864 Affidavit of support (it is for CR1/IR1 only completed and filled out with Acrobat, and notarized -- this form must be notarized)

    3) My last year's 1040, last year's W-2, tax transcripts from tax years 2003-2005 3 years)

    4) A dated letter on company letterhead from my employer stating how long I have been working for them, position and job title, annual salary, and detailed employment history 5) Copies of our last journey itineraries during my last trip to Pakistan (Visa stamped, Passport copies, hotel receipts)

    6) Copies of phone bills with my calls to her highlighted

    8) Receipts of money I transferred to her

    7) Her birthday cards, wishing cards to me and mine to her.

    8) Wedding photographs. (Three albums, which include wedding reception, valima)

    9) Photocopies of wedding certificates and other papers related to marriage.

    Thanks,

  9. Mary,

Inshallah she will be all right but I would to correct few things here about 'MAKKAH'.

The holiest city for the Muslims is Makkah-tul-Mukarramah. It is not "Mecca". Saudi Arabia had officially changed the spelling of the name of this city to "Makkah" a few years ago after realizing the derogatory usage of the word by the Western media and Western authors. And that is the way it should be. We do not like it if our own name is misspelled or mispronounced. How can we then allow it when the same is done to any of our most important icons?

Unfortunately many people, even some Muslims are still careless about it. It is increasingly being observed with a degree of concern that all kinds of businesses are (mis-)using the name "Mecca". "Motor-Mecca", "The Mecca Group", etc. It should be respectfully pointed out to such persons that the usage of the word "Mecca" to name their businesses is offensive. A billion and a half Muslims the world over, hold this holy city in the highest regard and veneration. To desecrate the name of this holy city by abusing it in this fashion is not acceptable.

Recently, The British Rank Corporation, which owns a chain of gambling and entertainment shops under the name of "Mecca", removed the name from its shop fronts as a result of protests from British Muslims. Muslims of Luton in the UK had protested against the defamatory use of the name of this holy city.

In most cases it is done out of ignorance, not deliberately. If pointed out politely but firmly, most companies respond favorably by changing the name.

Muslims should also be encouraged to adopt the proper spelling of Makkah, rather than the old, incorrect "mecca" version. Madinah should rather be spelled as Madinah than being spelled as "medina". Principals and educators of educational institutions such as Madrasahs, Islamic Schools, academies, Muslim writers, authors, researchers, scholars are to be encouraged to use the correct spelling.

Muslims have a duty to be vigilant and decisive in acting against anything that may be deemed sacrilegious, blasphemous or disrespectful to Islam or Muslims, all over the world. Every town, city, province, country should have a dedicated and committed group of people to fulfil this important "watch-dog" role for the sake of the Ummah and Islam.
