  1. Being a Muslim I have some reservation about “Mothers day”

What is reason of been celebrating mother’s day? For us as a Muslim every single day of our life is mother’s day.

Imam Ali bin Hussain (a.s), the great-grandson of the Prophet, said: "Coming to the rights of relatives, it is the right of your mother that you should appreciate that she carried you [in her womb] as nobody carries anybody, and fed you the fruits of her heart which nobody feeds anybody, and protected you [during pregnancy] with her ears, hands, legs, hair, limbs, [in short] with her whole being, gladly, cheerfully and carefully; suffering patiently all the worries, pains, difficulties and sorrows [of pregnancy], till the hand of God removed you from her and brought you into this world."

Then she was most happy feeding you, even if she herself had no clothes; giving you milk and water; not caring for her own thirst; keeping you in the shade, even if she had to suffer from the heat of the sun; giving you every comfort with her own hardship; lulling you to sleep while keeping herself awake."

"And [remember that] her womb was your abode, and her lap your refuge, and her breast your feeder, and her whole existence your protection; it was she, not you, who was braving the heat and cold of this world for your safety."

"Therefore, you must remain thankful to her accordingly, and you cannot do so except by the help and assistance from Allah.

  2. hello!! hope everyone is doing well!!

i haven't been around for a while so i figured i'd give an update.

it's been 34 days since my husband was put on AR/AP... don't know how much longer it's going to be.

however, the nvc sent our other case (CR1 visa) to the embassy a couple of weeks ago.

-is my husband going to have to go for another interview?

-will the CR1 visa superceed the K3 visa?

-will the embassy give him the K3 visa even though he has another case pending at the embassy (CR1 visa case)?

-will he have the option of coming to the US on a K3 visa and applying for greencard when he gets here?

maybe some of you who have been in this situation can comment on what the embassy does when this occurs.

also, the embassy told my husband that they need the co-sponsors (my brother) 2005 tax transcripts??? what are these tax transcripts? i thought all they needed were the federal 1040 tax forms and W2??? that's what my husband gave them at the interview. has anyone else been asked for tax transcrits by the the embassy before???

    thank you

    molly

    Salam,

I do not have answers of your all questions however few important things about tax returns you will find in my post.

    * A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and for applying for student loans.

*The phone number to request tax return information is (800) 829-1040.

  3. We got our visa!!!!! Just as well we got to London early because the map for the embassy is not to scale and there are numerous roads missing!!!! It tooks us over an hour to find the it and this after asking at least 4 people for directions. We got there late at 11.15 went through security all the way round the building, up the stairs to reception and took a number. We were number 18 and when we looked at the board there was only one other number in front of us. We had about a 15 minuted wait and we were called to counter 16. A very pleasant gentleman with a strange accent asked to see the appointment letter he went and got our file, when he came back he gave us our xrays and asked for our documentation. I signed the forms, handed him the visa pics, he gave me the courier form to completed and told me the CO would call me as soon as he had sorted all the documents. 10 mins later we were called to counter 15 and a very pleasant lady swore me in. I noticed that our file had the red approved stamp on it. She took our fingerprints, then said well now I have to ask you some nozey questions LOL She asked how we met, when we met in person. told me i was very brave for going to mee him LOL then asked if if met Mike's kids. She also said that my son's special needs were not cause for concern as they had noted them on the medical and they could be taken care of in America. She explained about the big brown envelope and said not to open it as the POE guys have no sense of humour LOL She chatted about her daughter and her dislike for the tube abd how she goes everywhere by bus. She aske the kids how they felt about going. Wish us good luck and told me to go pay the courier.

It was so easy nothing to stress about at all.!

Nothing new with me to share about interview.

But during first interview by desi man (after paying the fees), he has asked a question:

have you worked for terrorist organization?

    wasnt that funny to reply?

well, in final intervew, the female CO asked many common questions.

Checked my business card and lecturer card.

    She was impressed.

and asked me later why your english is good?

In reply, i showed her my school certificate where LA SALLE HIGH SCHOOL was written and i told her that i was thought by many "brothers" under Catholic Church System.

Finally, she said: Your case is OKAY but we cannot issue the visa to you as u r on AR.

  8. Omid he will tell me tomorrow of the details on his embassy visit and I will post. I do know that he was not allowed in until 10 am like the letter said. He sat until 1:30 pm when they called him and asked when he could travel he said Friday she said if not medical expires in August. She then tells him to sit and wait and 35 mins later he is called and a few persons ask him the same questions. Then they took his passport and said we have to send it via courrier so they gave him a token. Says it will be 3 -5 days for delivery. He is traveling back to his city and we will talk tomorrow. Plans are for him to be here around the 25th and JPs surgery is June 1st.

Hang in there and hope you have good news soon.

    Mary

Did you guys already decided about airline & ticketing stuff? As you are in Alabama then Atlanta will be nearest POE for Ishtaq. Anyways again loads of congratulations. I read some where in your previous posts that you got a new name ‘FATIMA’?

  11. okay so what happened to the people at DOS who sometime throw people a bone?!? I called again this morning just to see if the fingerprint results are in yet and the girl tells me that the case is still pending and the embassy just responded to your email - yeah some response! From others' signatures and postings I know they sometimes give some info - only prints back, or 2 out of 3 clearances given, etc. - but I can't seem to get anything from them

sorry all I'm just getting so frustrated... i get so discouraged when i see people out of ISL waiting anywhere from 4-9 months after AP/AR (with fingerprints) begins, and almost four months into our AP/AR we're just now getting prints in and the checks at DOS!!! :crying: I do have faith in Allah and that everything happens when He wills it to happen, but this process becomes soooo draining at times!!! I'm grateful that I got to spend some time with him, and I know there are plenty of people here that have been separated for much longer, and I need to be grateful that my situation isn't worse, but I just wonder if/when it's going to happen... Please keep me in your prayers everyone so that I don't lose my mind - and not necessarily for just the visa, but for patience!!!! :help:

anyone have any good news to share?

Thanks Mary and Dude you guys clear today lot of things.

    Omid,

I am sorry but we are all in the same boat. I don’t know you know about case but let me tell u little about my case. My I130 approved in 14 months for 13 months my file was just sitting in Houston office for no reason. We have no idea why Texas Service center didn’t approve petition it at first sight. Anyway Texas service center transferred my file to Houston office due to some unexplainable reasons and Houston office didn’t pay any attention on it. I used to visit Houston office twice in a month via Info Pass and all that crappie officers over there didn’t listen to me. I had very horrible experience. Finally with help of sister Shon I wrote some letter to Mr. Vice President and involve me Senator and Congressman but they didn’t help me quickly it took me four months even after their involvement to get a interview letter from Houston office (Allah ho Akbar).

Anyway long story short when I went on interview the CO told us (me and my lawyer) that he has no idea why Texas Service center called my interview instead of approving the petition at first sight. My file was crystal cleared the only doubt they had as per my lawyer about my citizenship requirement (a neutralized citizen should pass five years) before applying to his/her citizenship. According to the law I applied my citizenship 90 days prior to five years and it is acceptable by law. Well one thing here, which is very obvious if they have doubt about the law then WHY INS, didn’t object it when they issued me citizenship. I filed my N400 (Citizenship) paper from Houston and Houston office issued me neutralized certificate if it was against the law they why didn’t object it at that time. Anyway the CO who was supposed to take my interview didn’t ask me anything instead he told us (me & my lawyer) that he is very sorry my file got stuck there due to no reasons. He accepted that due to shortage of staff and lack of knowledge there are one or two cases in every 150 like mine. In other words it is very possibility that anything anyone.

In my opinion immigration as whole is miserable process especially if you are from ‘RED’ rated countries unfortunately Pakistan name in that list.

The main reason here to discuss all that was to boost your morale. You are not alone in this dirty tank. We are all here with you. So don’t worry be happy. Everything will be all right one day. Inshallah.

All praises to Allah & his messenger Muhammad sww.

  12. Mary or Shon,

I am sure you guys have answer to this question. Do a visa applicant have to sumbit following documents with package 3.5 as mentioned by Mr.DoodWala on his post.

Requirements for packet 3.5 (CR-1) Courtesy of Dood Wala:

1- Ds-230 part 1 and part 2 (remember you sign part 1 but do not sign part 2, you sign it infront of the CO).

2- Orignal copy of Marriage certificate and translated copy (if marriage certificate was in Urdu).

    3-Police Certificate.

    4-Medical report (no X-rays reports).

5-Death or divorce certificate of previous marriage (this options only apply to Beneficiary).

6- If I-864 is not submitted at NVC, must turn it in with Packet 3.5

7- If I-864 submitted at NVC, then the beneficiary must write a 1 page letter stating that the petitioner has submitted the I-864 at the NVC.

    8- 2 pictures.

9- orignal copy of Birth Certificate and translated copy (if orignal was in Urdu).

    Hey thanks Dude for this.

  13. We dont have the visa in hand. we just have to wait.. :(

 what do you mean??? what does he have to wait for now?? did he go down? leave his passport?? shonnie please don't leave us hanging like that

your peeps await ..what is going on sister shon?

Shon you didn't update us? Could you please explain us do you mean by ' You did not get Visa' we are all your well-wisher and you guys are in our prayers and thoughts.

  14. Need some words of wisdom from U guys once my wife will get package 3.5. Anythings specials we have to take care or just sign papers and send them back to embassy in order for them to schedule our interview.

Here is list of the documents I will send to my wife for our interview.

    1) DS-230 (completed and filled out with Adobe Acrobat Pro, since I've heard they prefer and may require typewritten or computer filled application rather than hand-written application forms)

    2) I-864 Affidavit of support (it is for CR1/IR1 only completed and filled out with Acrobat, and notarized -- this form must be notarized)

    3) My last year's 1040, last year's W-2, tax transcripts from tax years 2003-2005 3 years)

    4) A dated letter on company letterhead from my employer stating how long I have been working for them, position and job title, annual salary, and detailed employment history 5) Copies of our last journey itineraries during my last trip to Pakistan (Visa stamped, Passport copies, hotel receipts)

    6) Copies of phone bills with my calls to her highlighted

    8) Receipts of money I transferred to her

    7) Her birthday cards, wishing cards to me and mine to her.

    8) Wedding photographs. (Three albums, which include wedding reception, valima)

    9) Photocopies of wedding certificates and other papers related to marriage.

Please add anything if I skip something.

    Thanks,

I think she will be needing Police report too.

About I-864, were you not supposed to submit it in USA?

Dont panic about TCS/others delivery. You have enough information with you that what packet 3.5 requires. So begin your work and make such startegy that time between packet received and submitted back should be minimized. Obviously this can be done if u start compiling the documents right from today.

One more thing. correct me if i am wrong, your above list majorly consist items that should be shown during interview. so concentrate majorly on packet 3.5 required documents.

    Dude,

Thanks for your input. In my understanding we are not going to return any document with package 3.5 except a form that will be signed by my wife. I know we have to submit all documents at time of interview and you also confirmed that too.

Do we have to submit anything in the response of package 3.5? Please advise.

I-486 package already submitted here in NVC but my lawyer told me it will NOT going to hurt if my wife carry a copy at time of interview. Some times CO asked about it.By the way my wife called the embassy and they will send an other 3.5 package.

    -Dude
