  4. ====================================================================

    Jokes of the day.

    ====================================================================

    One fine day a girl proposed to a sardar (Indin Countryman) and the sardar denied simply saying that - "in our family we marry only with our relatives: my grandfather married my grandmother, my mom married my dad, my brother married my bhabhi, my sister married my jijajee, my uncle married my aunt and so on. so please excuse me."

    =====================================================================

    =====================================================================

    A concerned husband went to a doctor to talk about his wife. He says to the doctor, "Doctor, I think my wife is deaf because she never hears me the first time and always asks me to repeat things."

    "Well," the doctor replied, "Go home and tonight stand about 15 feet from her and say something to her. If she doesn't reply move about 5 feet close and say it again. Keep doing this so that we'll get an idea about the severity of her deafness."

    Sure enough, the husband goes home and does exactly as instructed. He starts off about 15 feet from his wife in the kitchen as she is chopping some vegetables and says, "Honey, what's for dinner?" He hears no response.

    He moves about 5 feet closer and asks again. No reply. He moves 5 feet closer. Still no reply.

    He gets fed up and moves right behind her, about an inch away, and asks again, "Honey, what's for dinner?"

    She replies, "For the fourth time, vegetable stew!"

    ======================================================================

    =====================================================================

    A man left for work one Friday afternoon. But, being payday, instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend partying with the boys and spending his entire paycheck.

    When He finally appeared at home, Sunday Night, he was confronted by a very angry wife and was barraged for nearly two hours with a tirade befitting his actions.

    Finally his wife stopped the nagging and simply said to him. "How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?"

    To which he replied. "That would be fine with me."

    Monday went by and he didn't see his wife. Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results. Come Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye.

  5. Dear Shonjaved, I don't think that is a racist comment at all. Most of the time when you speak on the phone with someone, you can very well say if the other person is African American or Chinese American or Indian American or Philipino American or Arab American or any other for that matter simply by their accent and pitch of voice and this is only a descriptive comment , not a racist one. Please don't mind. When I speak, people think I am middle eastern and they ask me if I am and I never find this racist.

    You would not be offended because your not African American. Travel more in your life people

    all this is racist #######. how the he11 can you say you know what race that person is because of their voice?

    btw, what does African American sound like?

    I think there is no point here to fight. No body talking here about racism at all here. We all here first Muslim then ‘black white or brown’ so take deep breathe and please remove all racism thoughts from top of your head.

  6. Atta Muhammad, 22, a barber by profession, was killed by unidentified gunmen in Liaquatabad, while he resisted a robbery bid within Super Market police limits.

    The area police said that two highwaymen intercepted Ata near Asna-e-Ashri Imambargah and tried to snatch his cell phone. When Ata resisted, the robbers opened fire upon him and fled.

    it is just tragic that people are getting killed left and right in karachi for having a cell phone in public. Everyday there is someone who dies for resisting the robbers. HUMan life has no value in karachi, human beings are considered like animals, just kill who ever you like for what ever reason you like. the robbers dont think twice, no second thougth, you either give the money or die, end of story, no second chances.

    And my friends as the saying goes "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE", this is true in real life in karachi

    Sir, look the crime rate in US. I know law and order situation in Pakistan is very bad but in America it is also alarming

  7. I have been feeling like giving up.. what does that mean? course its not like I can with draw the petiton not that I would want to. but, giving up is - no longer chatting and communicating with my sweetie. lately, communication is kind of not like it was.. :( we dont argue- not that.. we just dont have nothing to say.

    because, we are hurting. chatting is old, talking on the phone is old. its getting too hard for us.

    It is not a good idea to stop chatting and avoid telephonic conversation In my opinion it is best time for you guys from relationship stand point. Technically couples faced hardship of life together (hardship could be any type like financial, mental sexual or parentall) would be best companion because they know each other well from in and out side.

    Islam is the wonderful religion that teaches couple patience, love and everything in order to handle every phase of life.

    Humility, sacrifice, empathy, love, understanding, forgiveness, and hard work. Following these principles should help any marriage to improve. The essence of them all can be summed up in one sentence: Always treat your spouse the way you would like to be treated. If you follow this rule, your marriage will have a much greater chance for success. If you discard this rule, failure is just around the corner.

    Wsalam ..

  8. salaam alay kum everyone,

    how is everyone doing?

    walaykum a salaam

    rmash/hmash

    WoW, it is great news .. Congratulations 'Mubrak hooo bohat bohat'

    We are also waiting for my interview (CR1). Any words of wisdom about interivew related issues would be appreciable.

    Wsalam...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reminder ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MONDAY IS A US HOLIDAY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    ~~~~~~~~~~~ EMBASSY WILL BE CLOSED ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    It would be a long weekend for everyone (for us in States and for 'em in Pakistan).. !!!

  9. Please pray for us.. I seriously cant take this no more. :crying: we have been going though this

    last security check 50 days. we get nothing but canned responses. no one cares. we are just another meaningless ISL2005 case number. they dont care if we dont spend anniversarys togeather, holidays or birthdays. they dont care if my husband attend important events. they dont care if we can even touch. I feel like my freedom to love and be loved has been stripped from me. Perhaps maybe I never even had the freedom.

    Those stiff shirt policy makers hide behind things they never once look at the family that is suffering. They care about Oil and war. sometimes they will kiss a baby or two. I supposed I am doing nothing more than ranting and venting. but, then again my crys my please fall on deaths ears too. all I want to be with my wonderful husband and we live our life in peace. no drama, no problems - just peacefully.

    Shon,

    I can understand your pain besides I know this immigration process is really pain in body

    (not just in ### huh .). Especially for Muslims countries it is hard as rock. Be patience it will be over pretty soon.

    Cheers!!!

    My Lord, Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that don't believe. But I thank you that I believe.

    I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.

    I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.

  12. Thanks for the prayers. We got home last night his POE was bad experience. He had long extensive interview with two persons and last long time. I think it was total over 2 hours and they lost his luggage. Delta lost my 2 cases to Paksitan and were never found. Now Delta has misplaced his from Atlanta. We hope to have them delivered or found today. Have a good day everyone and wishing everyone together with their loved ones soon.

    Mary

    Finally he made it awesome. Now you can erase this whole immigration process from your memory. It is really painful. :P

    Anyway, wish you all the best May Lord Almighty helps you guys to understand each other. Have fun.

  13. Hi everybody,

    we fianaly got approved yesterday after 4 month...We are soooooooo very happy.

    Good luck to you all which are still waiting...There is no reason to be worried at the interview...at least not in Frankfurt, Germany

    Greetings

    Nina :dance::thumbs::dance:

    Congrats ......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Please guide me that when i should get my Police certificate and Medical ready.

    Please tell me the time saving tips

    thanking you

    You can’t get your medical done without ‘letter from embassy’. Embassy of United States in Islamabad has appointed a panel of doctors in all big cities of Pakistan (i.e. Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore) and they required a letter which will come along with several other documents in packet 3.5 (CR1/IR1) or packet (3/4) for K1/K3 cases.

    You can try to get a police report ahead of time.

  15. Does anyone know what CR1 and IR1 means? Or what the difference is between the two.

    The CR1 (Conditional Residence) or the 2 year Green Card. Less then 2 years marriage

    If you marriage was more than 2 years old the day you were given permanent residence, then you get the IR1 (Immediate Relative) which is the permanent Green Card.

    Both are immigrant visas and may be obtained on the approval of the I-130 followed by the consular interview

  16. Thanks everyone !

    I am ecstatic about this...I had been in the worst mood for weeks...road rage, talking to myself, and just being plain miserable. My anxiety level had risen to the point where I was thinking of tapping into my Boxer's Xanax ! (she has seperation anxiety)

    Usually I am such an optimist. I can find something to smile or laugh about in most situations, but recently I had lost my spark b/c of this-I felt as if the end would never come. I know we have the last lap to go in this triathalon of waiting, but I am just so happy that this is coming to a close now. I am looking toward the future with a smile. :D

    Thanks for the good wishes. So many of you have helped me along the way, with support, advice and kind words. I thank you.

    And so, the last lap begins...

    -Rose

    congrats .. !!!!

  17. does anyone knows how often visas denied after AR/AP? and is this automatic rejection of visa? or something else?

    AR/AP is not an automatic denial. A 221(g) just means they are checking things more closely. AR is security clearances. AP is more indepth. Sorry to say no one ever has posted that they were outright denied in the forums that I am aware of. Maybe someone else will know and can advise.

    Mary

    I found a paki couple post. Please check out the URL below related to AR/AP
