  1. My fiancee (now wife!) had good photo copies and had no problems for her July '09 interview. Not sure if they are absolutely required but the embassy people did look at them.

    Hope this helps......good luck

The officials do have the option to request original documents. So, bring the originals with photocopies. You don't want to be turned away for lack of sufficient documentation.

Also, this from the Manila Embassy Visa instructions packet:

"We will try to return documents that you submitted and asked us to return, but do not give us anything that cannot be replaced. Make copies of important documents and submit copies along with the originals you want returned to you."

    Thanks Guys!

I just want to be certain. I thought I read somewhere that you must have originals for the AOS process. I want to be sure if I give the originals to the Embassy I do get them back if needed down the road???

  2. Good day..just give them a day or two then try to call back again..don't wait for weeks..we've been through that(a lot of us here though..hehe)..after many calls, at last, we were able to get an interview date..ours will be on Aug.24(we were planning to have it on Aug.23 but they said it's not available anymore..they let us choose from aug.24-up..)... :ot2: ..i guess they might just having troubles(just wish they still have available dates for August..)..if you want, you can call them from time to time and try..it takes one to be persistent(sorry, I even told my fiance to be direct&sound strict when he call..lol..it was a good try too, we got our date!!) ..just be patient..God will provide always... :D:D:thumbs:

    Thanks for the advice :)

Just curious how many PINS did you Fiance have to buy? With only 3 calls per PIN I'm on my second $18.00 with one call remaining :(

    Salamat

  3. Well, for the last several days I've been trying to reach the US Embassy Manila to set an interview date for my fiance'. I tried using the $18.00 PIN via call center #, however keep getting the same problem.

After the agent is finished asking all the pertinent information i.e. case #, my address, name, etc...then my fiance's full name, address etc. They then inform me the system at the Embassy is being updated and they cannot make appointments at this time........"IT has informed us the problem would be rectified tomorrow and to call back." So, called back again and again was told the same thing now it is recommended to call the middle of next week when the system is undated

What kind of backlog will this create? Probably the same as Traffic in Makati on a Friday night!

    Bahala na :bonk:

  4. I agree with Tahoma. In my case, the NVC received our papers a week after the NOA2 issuance. Give it 1-2 weeks since it's summer in the States. You can schedule an appointment as long as you have your MNL Case Number.

    Good luck!

??? I'm a little confused with this statement.

I have a MNL Case number from the NVC however, I was under the impression you had to wait until the Embassy opened your case before you could schedule an interview?

If not I will be calling tomorrow to schedule. Feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. I am a subcontractor so therefore technically self employed however my 1099's come from one specific company and have been for the last several years. Do Write I'm self employed on the I-134 or do I put the company's name along with a letter of Employment even though I'm not an Employee???

For question 7 should I just put my Gross Income for 2009 and let the Consular Officer figure the rest by presenting copies of tax transcripts and copies of 2009 tax returns inlcluding all schedules?

    Time is of the essence.

    Thanks

  6. In preparation for my finacee's hopefully soon to be interview. Can someone provide a list of forms that she will need to send to the Embassy in Manila and what forms will she need to bring?

We already have these documents prepared:

    NBI Clearance

    Birth Certificate

    CENOMAR

    Proof of Existing Relationship

    chat logs

    emails

    phone logs

    photos

    Fiance's Letter of Intent.

We are filling out 2 copies of each

    DS-156

    DS-156K

    DS-157

    DS230

    Am I missing any?

Which ones will she need to send to the Embassy prior to interview and which ones will she bring with?

Also, is it necessary for me to send her the I-134 form with tax returns etc...? Or can I just bring it with me, I plan on arriving 2-3 days before her interview? I'm a little concerned with having my social security # and personal info traveling half way around the world.

    Thanks a Bunch,

  7. Hello All,

When we scheduled our K1 interview I neglected to ask the US consulate representative if we should send the DS-230 form in right away or just take it with us to the interview? They won't be sending a check list or letter she just referred us to the link with the interview directions....BTW...the DS-160 is not needed for the K1 visa I got solid clarification on that. Anyway...replies will be appreciated. Thank you and God Bless!

Really? We're in the process of filling out the DS156, DS156K, and the DS157 I thought all were still necessary for the K1 Visa? Did you have this confirmed from the Embassy in Manila?

  8. Hello all :)

I'm anticipating the arrival of our NOA2 in the next several weeks. So, getting ready to send my packet out to my fiance.

    The questions I have:

I've been self employed for many years and try to keep my stated income relatively low. I'm single with no dependents and 2009 will show my adjusted gross income )I believe line 22 of my 1040) states $20,100. According to the Federal poverty guidelines this should be sufficient for 2 people, right?

Does the Consular adjudicator use this as an exact guideline for income or do they have autonomous decision-making regarding income?

    Second part:

Being self employed, is an IRS Tax transcript sufficient enough for income verification for the I-134 or do I need to send a complete copy of taxes including 1099's?

I was reading that the requirements when filing I-864 AOS that it is necessary if self employed to include copies of all the schedules (C,D,E,F etc.) does this pertain to the I-134 also or only the I-864?

Sorry for the tedious questions. I just want to be thorough and exact when sending the documents. I want everything to meet all specifications the first time.

Once again thanks to all the great info this forum has provided!

  9. Hello! I think the First thing you have to do is , Check your Bank Information if The Amount you made to it, has been Cashed Out, there you can see the Date when it been Cashed, then You will recieve A Notice Of Action , telling that they Recieve the Amount. I f you don't have Notice of Action Yet, so it could be on the way to your Mail. Hope this make it helpful to you, Sometimes Its Depend where you live and the way the mail Man Do thier job as quick as we Expected.

Thanks everyone! Keeping my fingers crossed hoping I didn't mess anything up.

Checked with my bank and the check has not been cashed nor is there pending transactions :(

  10. First of all I'd like to give thanks to this site and to all members. All the information on Visa Journey has made the filing process much easier.

Hopefully some of the members here can help me with my question. I send my I-129 Fiancee visa out on 05-05-10 and the receipt of delivery was 05-07-10. As of today I have not received any other information or has my check been cashed. I've noticed similar petitions during my time frame and it has only taken two or three days to get notification. Is this normal or perhaps something has happened to my application?

Once again thank you to all members!

    Matthew
