Hello, question to what you had said above... My fiance is from Wales and we would like to be prepared as you were. How do we know which Dr ne needs to see for the examination? Is there anything specific? THanks so much and congrats on everything!
You might want to check this? But as far as I can remember there is only one doctors office that the embassy uses in the UK, I got this from here the VJ site, "Knightsbridge Doctors in London is the sole contractor for Embassy medicals".
Tel: 020 7486 7822
Hope this helps and good luck on your journey!

Aren't you sure that I just have to collect everything, go for medical and let them know that I have everything... Then they will issue us with a date??
Thats how it comes across in the letter.
You should have your packet 3 with the check list, once you have everything on the check list send it to the embassy and in about 3 weeks you will recive your packet 4 with your interview date.
-
We got are NVC case number by calling them right after we got NOA2 and was able to get the medical done before ever hearing anything from the embassy, we also had all the papers filled out when we got packet 3 and sent them the same day we recived packet 3.
I hope this helps!

You have been sent, what is known as, packet 3. Get these forms filled out and back to Embassy. Once they log them into their system you will be sent out another letter, packet 4, providing you with interview date and instructions.
You should be good for getting there for xmas, just get those forms filled out and sent back ASAP
Just wanted to add that it will take about 3 weeks after you send in packet 3 to get your interview date.
Best of luck!

We didn't hire a lawer, once we found this site we did it with the help of visa journey! I wouldn't think a lawer would waist the time his/her time messing up your case!

Congrats! We finally received the German police certificate yesterday- THANK GOD! and have translated it. Just need to get it notarized and call the courier to pick it up on Tuesday. Hoping to get the Visa and passport back in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!! I will let you know how it works out.
Thanks!!
Hey that's Great!
Congrats, your all most there! Good Luck!

Passport delievered! I had to check the embassy courier website, but the couriers delivered next day. Was told it would take 7-10 days, only took 6!! I fly tomorrow!
Congrats!! Have a great flight!
-
10 days is what it took for are visa to arrive.
-
Are turn around time from the time courier company got it to the deliver time is 2 days.
-
At our interview we were told that our Visa was approved pending receipt of police clearance form from Germany (My fiance was stationed there whole in the Army). My question is, how long is the turn around to receive our Visa and passport once the courier picks up them up? We were told it would be a simple process and should only take 3-5 days once everything was received by the Embassy. I am hoping to get some "real-time" experience from VJ users, as we are trying to arrange for him to move, set a wedding date, and purchase plane tickets, etc.. Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing, my fiancee was told by the courier people when she paid them 3-5 days, so she thought she would recive everything back in 3-5 days, she called the courier company and was told that when they recive everything from the embassy it takes 3-5 days to deliver but it takes the embassy 1-3 weeks to forward everything to them.
As so as we hear anything I'll let you know.
Hopefuly some people who were approved in the last month or so will come forward and let us know how long it takes from the interview to reciving there passport and paperwork back.

My fiancé has to have a German police certificate translated. Does the Embassy have strict regulations on what qualifies something as a "certified translation"? Does anyone have any suggested translation companies in England?
Thanks so much for any help/sugguestions/advice.

So sorry to hear of your troubles!

We send you are best wishes and prays, hopefuly the rest of your visa journey will be all down hill with No more speed bumps!!

Hi, sorry just found out the information I need on the embassy info page. I knew I had read it somewhere on here. Nerves setting in!
Didn't know how to delete the post though.
And if you forget something in your bag like a camra, they will let you run down the street to put it up and they will hold your place in line, at least they did for my fiance.
Good luck on your interview!

We were approved today!

Hello I would like to ask if any of you have used a laywer or some kind of serive to file a k1 visa?
here is my situation:
i am a 22 year old filipina, but was born and raised in the U.S. Went on vacation at 17 & met a great guy so decided to go to school in the Philippines to be with him. We've been together for 5 years and now have a 1 year old daughter. I finally graduated so I'm heading back to Virginia with our daughter. Rodel & I are not married because we decided that I graduate first. My question is, is there any way I can file the petition while I am still in the Philippines? & is it advisable to use a service? Pls help me, my daughter and I will really miss him. I'm just really looking for the best route. Thanks
YES you can do it on your own without a laywer!
Best of luck!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all fine!

I have one question, how long can I wait in my home country after I receive the K-1? Do I have to fly imeadiatly to the U.S, or can I wait a certain period? I know that after I get there holding the fiancée visa, I have 90 days to get married, but I need to know how long can I wait here in my home country after I receive the visa before flying to the U.S to be with my fiancé. Thanks in advance for your reply!

I'm pretty sure that that the K-1 visa is good for 6 months.

FFS....Three and a half months we wait only to receive a RFE today,i am almost done with this petition stuff and just move her over to the U.K.
Hang in there! I have read that people have cleared up a RFE a couple of weeks and then get there NOA2, your almost there.
Good luck!

Hi,
I have interview tomorrow morning in London. My spouse has traveled from US to come here and be with me. Is it possible for him to join me during my visit to embassy for interview?
Interview is for: IR1/CR1 immigration visa for US Citizen Spouse.
Thank you
- J
I have read that yes you can have a spouse or fiance be there with you at your interview in London. I wonder if you can go to the embassy site and check for sure?
Good luck at your interview!
