My husband was very nervous applying for jobs due to Portuguese being his main language. When we would search for jobs for him we found one in our area that was looking for specific Portuguese English bilingual people. So I guess he probably lucked out on that one. Not sure how many Portuguese speaking people live in our city or surrounding area, but he interviewed for the position on a Friday and was told he had the job on Monday. It's with a very good company, making good money and he gets to speak his native language on a daily basis with other Brazilians that he works with, which I think helps him a lot. I think being bilingual, even if the person's English isn't perfect is a great asset to have. It gives that person more opportunities than a normal American that only speaks English probably wouldn't have.

I'm starting to get a little worried. We haven't heard anything about the AOS as far as the Green Card since March. I hope it didn't get lost somewhere. I'm tempted to call them and see if they have any different updates other than what the website says.

I do not get how you all are supposed to be adults. Everyday I read a new topic about someone who is waiting. Most are whining like little babies about how long you have to wait and it is your right to get processed right away etc etc. Some people even start crying after only 2-3 months.
I don't think the staff at the service centers are working slow on purpose. Most likely there have been a lot of applications coming in and we have the the straight up fact that Americas economy is very bad right now. So I don't think they are putting their last bucks on hiring more staff to help our love lives.
It's a few months of your lives and then you will hopefully spend the rest of your lives together. Relax and just remember what you are fighting for.

I got the vaccine after I was born and had an extreme allergic reaction to it. What my mother told me recently was that the vaccine is more dangerous to me personally than the whopping cough itself.

You can get one-way or round trip, it doesn't matter I believe with a K1. Round trip is usually cheaper I think, but if you can find a one-way cheaper then I'd go for it!
