That clearly show you were working as an ind comtractor and whtever income you had is clearly stated on the tax returns.
The only thing is your current client can write you letter which shows you are stillworking for them, means it could be asumed you would still be making approx same amount this year as well.
Yes, that is an excellent answer above, I agree. I think the words to stay away from are "employer" or "employee" - use customer or client. The letter from the company you work for is added proof, why not include it? I am self-employed also but don't work for just one company or I would include it. And honestly, they can see from your tax transcripts you are self employed, so even if the letter does say employee they can tell when it means. Good luck!

my fiancé (now husband) did not have an appointment paper. Show up early and they will read your fiancé's name. Read the reviews for Cuba so you know how the system works when you line up early in the park near the Interest Section. He did not have a paper.
You can perhaps confirm the appointment via email direct with Havana. There is an email address on the website. (we didn't do that though). I asked them some question over email (I forgot what now, to be honest) - put the HAV case number in the subject line) and put Petitioner: Name Beneficiary: Name
at the top of your email and then ask your question. They answered my email within a week.
    Good luck!

I have not heard of the package being mailed to your address in Cuba. I believe the way it works in Cuba is to make an appointment to pick up the packet. At least this is what we did. One of you needs to call and make the appointment. In our case, it was easier for me (the U.S. citizen) to make the appointment. He goes to the U.S. Public Interest section once he has the appointment to pick up the packet.

I don't understand how you can file your taxes with a loss but still say you make over the threshold. They will look at your net self-employment income after expenses, not your gross receipts Maybe I have misunderstood and if so, I apologize. (I am both self employed as well as a tax preparer so I do have experience with filing for a visa and my taxes as self employed.) But it does seem you will need a co-sponsor. This is a helpful forum, I hope you find the advice you need. Read all the guides twice and the instructions to the forms twice. Good luck with your journey.

The tax transcripts will show dividend income from stocks if any were earned, and capital gain or loss from stocks if any were sold. Tax transcripts do not show names of what stocks are held or sold, and they don't show the value of the holdings that remain.
But, tax returns will show some information about what companies you earn dividends in, or have sold stock from - it is on the Schedule B and Schedule D respectively.
I suggest you have them order a tax transcript to see what information is on it and set their mind at ease if that is what they are worried about.

Lesigh, the folks that are negative are just louder than those of us that aren't. Glad you are here, wish you could fix all of our problems and speed up the process, realize that of course you can't but thanks for the input you are able to give. These are unfortunately typical responses for an online open forum, but really, most people here are helpful and nice.

Hi Tim and Mav, thank you for your opinion about whether it is needed or not, but that is not my question.
I asked for feedback on the letter itself. Thank you to R and F for emailing me some examples. I probably should not have used the word affidavit, I am not going to have them notarized, the ones in Spanish will be translated and attested they are a truthful translation. There is no need from what I've heard to have them notarized.

And just to clarify a small point- when the above posters have stated that workers contribute or pay into the unemployment system - I am sure it is different from state to state, but in California it is not the employee who contributes to the unemployment insurance system - it is the employer that contributes/pays into the system NOT the employee. The employer pays into the system on behalf of the specific employee, based on their earnings.
