I've got $200 on the coin toss
It's gonna be a real nail biter of a toss! After that I'll shut off the game until 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter
Brother LI - The Bishop prophesizes that the Patriots will win the coin toss, and will be winning at the end of the 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, and 4th quarter.
And, Madonna will DOMINATE at half time with only hints at a wardrobe malfunction

Silly Bishop, blessed are those who do not cavort with actresses and supermodels. Doubting Thomas will see the (Matt) Light as he and the rest of the Patriots Offensive Line is driven back into him. Brother Eli, the humble, along with St. Brandon of Jacobs with rend asunder Goliath...errr...Wilfork and the evil Bill "Caiaphus" Belichick will see the light on his hidden video equipment. Many acts of transubstantiation will be witnessed as third downs are converted to touchdowns thanks to Brother Eli, The Humble and the Cruz. Amen!!!
'Eli-te' art a braggart and thus shall be smitten and clothed in Patriot sackcloth...
Don't forget, when it comes to Superbowls, the Bishop is infallible

It is possible to know the truth, and still be impressed by our Founding Fathers. What a bunch of idiots!
+1
A reading of American History and the Founding Fathers will show that they were, indeed, tremendous men accomplishing tremendous feats while starting this nation.
However, American history is also clear that one, if not the only, subject that the Founding Fathers refused to face was the issue of slavery in the fledgling USA. The topic was so divisive that it threatened to forever prevent the 'Union' of states from forming, thus the Founding Fathers never took on the subject, purposefully avoided it, in order to be able to successfully start the USA. Its a shame it had to be that way but if I were in their shoes I don't know if I could have found a way to end slavery, and start the nation, at the same time. In retrospect, I've always suspected that the Founding Fathers would now state that they should have tackled the issue of slavery because their purposeful decision not to address the issue led to the actions of the Civil War...a terrible outcome.
Blessings to the Thread,

@ Brother5
Personally, I kinda like the idea of a cashless society. I have rarely used cash in the past 5 years or so. I pretty much pay for everything by credit card (earning points) and then pay that credit card at the end of the month from an app on my iphone. It works well...

Wow. Ravens Cundiff will be looking for a new job next year.
Ya...that was really sad. The Ravens had the game won if they'd just hung onto the pass into the endzone in the last minute...or made the field goal to send it to OT.
However, neither happened so Blessings to the Pats to beat the Giants in the Superbowl.
If the Pats lose to the Giants 2X in the SuperBowl...then
You know...when the Raven's dropped that touchdown pass, and then missed that chipshot field goal...for the first time in my life, I actually felt sorry for Ray Lewis

Creationists kinda rub me the wrong way too...but, hey...what can I say?
I had to study creationism while earning my undergrad in religion...and I just never 'got it'...don't believe it.
However, in my opinion this Creationist movement is a new kinda theology and most Christians don't subscribe to it. Catholics definitely don't subscribe to it. In other words, it gets a lot of kooky press...but doesn't really have much of a following.
However, I still would like to go to their museum...that sounds like fun!

To counter Brother LI, I'm going to have to start posting stuff about 'Nice Things' that God does which Human's enjoy
Like 'God Creates internet and VJ'....Man drives it into the ground by opening a "Politics and Religion" forum and slamming Him!
Just kidding

Good luck with that.
Would be nice to see Brady have to play against a real defense. Brady has maybe the best offensive line in football.
Yep, that is why it is really going to be New England's offense vs. Baltimore's defense...if the Raven's D can hold Brady to a 'draw', then the game will be decided on Flacco vs. New England's defense, and Flacco's offense will win that battle.
I'd like to see the Raven's win, but after living outside of Ann Arbor and watching Brady play there I don't mind if the Pats win.
The only thing I really don't want to happen is for Eli to win another superbowl...that would be the scvk!

Of course that would be silly, everyone has some meaning in life..... even if it amounts to keeping up with American Idol.
I suspect the better question is; Are Atheists coming up short in some areas of deep meaning in their life?
There are a number of findings which suggest, perhaps.
These questions are answered in the Indian Spiritual Classic, The Mahabharata, classified as one of the world's greatest (if not the greatest) works of literature. This is an absolutely wonderful work of theology in which there are two warriors who are cousins from the same bloodline: Arjuna and Karna. Each are equal in all physical and mental attributes and both are outstanding human beings on every level, morality included, and both are very pure and disciplined in all their thoughts and actions. Yet, according to the Epic, Arjuna is a ardent seeker/lover of God while Karna has a more distant relationship with God...more like an agnostic (to try to put the original sanskrit into an English concept we can understand). In this beautiful Epic, it is shown that both men live wonderful and fulfilling lives...almost mirror images of each other's existence. However, Arjuna's life shines more fully when fully tested, because of his seeking/belief in God.
Its unfortunate that Christian literature is so very weak when compared to the Epics of some other religions. In my case, I've often only found the true meaning of Christianity after reading other religion's literature.

It's never the one that threw the first punch...
Or in your case, the second!

don't think its that difficult of a scenario:
1) Keep legal immigration about like as it is...its not that tough...we all make it through it and it is a pretty good screening.
2) Enforce the laws we currently have in place regarding illegal immigration.
If we did those two things...without any new legislation...I guess we'd be in pretty good shape.

This is the problem, many of us DO follow the law and have no or little complaints......mostly we complain about lack of current info and no definitive time line and YES,, DO follow the law on illegal immigration, this is what we would like to see....why is it that many come to this country illegally with little or no punishment and the possibilty of amnesty and there are many with loved ones that have to jump thru hoops..
Ya...your's is a good question. However, I never felt like I had to 'jump through hoops'. All I had to do was follow the legal process...thats it! I actually thought it was pretty simple...or else I couldn't have done it
Papers...and time...that was the only requirement, it doesn't get much simpler than that...in my opinion.
I can't sweat the illegal immigrants, which is why I say if we enforced the rules we have, we'd probably all be alright with the outcome. I can't blame them for wanting to come here, but I think they should only come here legally.
Amnesty...tough topic...I really am on the fence on that one...but I'd lean to sending all home.
Blessings to you!

I think the more important question is, "Can you live without beer!?

It was me?

You don't? I do. We get buried. No mystery there at all.
Awwww mannnnn...that is the 'fundamentals' of death. Where is the imagination (and fun) in that?
The Bishop gives your reply two thumbs down for an unimaginative response

As a believer, my thought is that ALL people (believers and non-believers) are created in God's image. So, the innate desire to live a good life which is full of meaning has nothing to do with if the person believes or not, because we're all created the same cloth. Its in our DNA.

We live pretty simply. I've always been against the "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality. I think that's the problem in this country. We buy things that we don't need, with money that we don't have, to impress people that we don't like.
SisterSusitala is wise, as is my brother LuckyTxn and Sister Girl from Celebes.

That, and the missed FG, were crushing to a Marylander such as myself
. That is another reason why I predict the Patriots win...obviously they have help from above
...plus, since my mighty Raven's lost, we need to be able to say that we lost the eventual SuperBowl Champions
Plus, they CAN'T lose 2x SuperBowls to Eli/Giants
