Suppose we all have different experiences. Perhaps that alone should make you a little less judgmental....and your plainly rude. GL indeed.

yankepeach reacted to Nich-Nick in Is flu shots needed for I-693?
A K1 visa can be issued with no immunizations at all. Many fiance's arrive in the US, not meeting the vaccination requirements.
    To Natashia the OP:
The flu shot requirement used to be for adults over 50 (and children) but that changed in November. CDC now says everone older than 6 months should have a flu shot at medical exams during flu season (defined by USCIS as Oct. 1 - Mar 31).
You have met the requirements for AOS on your DS-3025. You've had Tdap, MMR, and VH meaning varicella history (chickenpox) so excused from the varicella shot. The results section was filled out properly. Incomplete...blanket waiver IS acceptable in the results section. If the date on your DS-3025 was not during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), then you don't have to have a flu shot. You can send in that DS-3025 and it will prove you have met the immunization requirements without an I-693.
If you decide you want a civil surgeon to do an I-693, then because it is flu season, you will need the flu shot. Does that make sense? If DS-3025 was dated before flu season, it is ok like it is with nothing else. But a new I-693 dated during flu season becomes the "official" record and would need a flu shot because of the date on it falls in flu season.

Seriously......how the heck is any one suppose to stay positive when the stress from missing each of our SO's is profoundly punctuated by the incredibly absurd processing times and wonder about everything under the sun. The biggest of which are, are we getting a RFE or are they denying us or simply, are they spending too much time at the water cooler talking about the single case they did that week and how exhausting it was to enter in the data and look at evidence. With my job I do a heck of a lot of data entry as well as confirming identification through documented evidence. I do dozens of clients a day as well as the members of said family. Granted what the USCIS does is probably a bit more detailed but it still should not take three to five months unless they have two or three people processing these. Some how with our government....I highly doubt that. Its ridiculous. And seriously ....talk about job security. Its bull patookie that it takes this long in the first place given the day and age of technology we live in. Any thing that these folks need to look at or confirm is easily assessable given they have the documentation right in front of them. Okay I will step down off my soap box and offer the platform to anyone else who agrees or even disagrees. Would really like to hear someone defend these folks given the situation we all are in.

I think for Alan and I, what has been helpful is not pining and whining about longing to be together. We try not to let ourselves get too emotional. We talk...we talk A LOT...everyday. This really helps. We laugh and joke and try to keep our spirits lifted. I have been reading self-help books on being a better partner/spouse, as I feel we could probably all use new information. This down time for us has made us both think a lot about who we are, why previous relationships may not have worked, and how we can prevent making the same mistakes in the past. My reading has also given us additional things to talk about. While being apart is so very difficult, we cannot change what we cannot change, so we just try to make it as pain-free for each other as possible and try to be supportive and not draining to one another.

Well now I also belong to this group. NVC has been performing additional administrative processing on our visa since 7-2-10. In reading the prior posts, I am guessing that ours was also flagged for a security clearance. So I guess I can't complain if that is why. Too bad NVC won't tell us, to at least give us a little peace while we wait.
I am glad to see the average AP time is now less than than a month, so Charina & I are about halfway through it then. All this waiting is so tough, Im keeping myself busy gathering together the papers and info for the embassy interview.

Well I called NVC again today and our case is still there. I asked if there was a difference between "additional processing" and "administrative processing," (I have read on this thread that some people were claiming there was) and was told nope, its all the same thing. I then stated that a K1 is a nonimmigrant visa and that it was my understanding it just passes thru NVC on the way to the consulate, she said well its just clerical work that needs to be done. Told me to call back at the end of the week and see if there is any update.

Yep, you're the OP = original poster. Sometimes op means original post, but you can discern which in the context in which it was written. But yeah, a lot of people could learn a thing or two from the way you responded. Could have turned a a into a sh!t fling for the weaker posters, or the ones with no humor sensor, over something that was not meant to flame.
    Well done!

Just got back from a week in London with my fiance; we are now just waiting for his appointment letter from the embassy.
Luckily(?!) to keep me distracted, one of my semi-feral outdoor kitties has moved her four kittens in under my front porch. The Great Kitten Trapping Escapade starts tomorrow. Can I interest anyone in a small fuzzy semi-feral kitten?
(If you need kittens to look at to help you out during your own downtime, here you go: http://manorofmixedblessings.com/2010/07/13/are-you-ready-for-the-cute-well-are-you/)

I love reading your posts they make me giggle, and NOTHING in this process has made me giggle... let me just add that the USCIS website BITES!!! Our application has been on acceptance since the begining, had an update once and nothing changed!!! UGH!!! I even called them talked to a drone and got nothing... just want something ANYTHING at this point. It would be one thing if EVERYONE was in line and dealing with this, but when so MANY jump line and get approved ahead it is hard to 'keep the faith' in the process....
