hi. How r u...
Thanks for your answer. I wasn't 100% sure so I thought I'd ask.
Another question. What do I do if her F1 status expires before I get my citizenship or before I get to file for her? I think it will be rather close

Hi guys, I am in the process of filing for my citizenship (this month) through marriage and will be looking to file for my mother when I get my approval... Question is, she is here on an F-1 and has been in good standing since she came here in 2006. Well I'd like to know if the process will be any different when filing for a parent that resides out of the country?
I'll be filing for my dad also but he still lives in Jamaica, so I know that will take 6-12 months.
Thanks in advance

Hi all... I'll be a few weeks late this time. School and work are kicking my behind but it should be ok once I pay my state taxes

The only thing I can assume is that she probably missed the appointment because of the DV scenario(s) occurred around this time and went home out of fear. But then again, she could've consulted an immigration officer before she did anything irrational like flee the country. Then again, there isn't enough info from the OP so I'm just speculating

Yes, a copy is sufficient... As long as it is in English, you are fine

Thank you very much, Little_My. Your feedback is very helpful and I really appreciate it .
About the medical form, since I have to fill in the address, I just wonder if I should schedule for an appointment after the move-in date so that the address is consistent with the other forms. Seems like it takes some time to finish the form. I'll check out to see certified civil surgeon in my area.
My opinion: if you can get a date after you officially move-in (like the next day/week), that would be great but if not, its not a deal-breaker or red flag. Then again, this would depend on how urgent your AOS is or how soon you'd like to file. If you'd like, you could add a letter explaining the circumstances of your living situation to ease your nerves but it would not be a necessity... All the best

Id suggest trying to get her into a community college and start from there... My mom & I did that for 2 yrs and then transferred to a University... Im thinking thats more affordable if she is still interested but as suggested, start paper-work asap if she still wants to

I just called USCIS and they said they will be sending out an appointment for bio metrics. Anyone know what this is? I know its fingerprints and photos but is that it? Also how long will it take after the bio metrics?
Thanks
yep, pretty much... u fill out a demographic form but that usually it.. as far as how long it takes is relative and has been varying

Hey love, it was the bio appt notice. Strange!

FYI, then you look at January VSC list, it's still 64%!!! (Some people got RFE in October and are still waiting for approval...)
Yes, it's a bummer.
We do have to try to not stress abt it. Everything in its time

This over-stay issue will most likely be forgiven upon filing for AOS. As previously stated, the age shouldnt be a problem either
