  1. Priority- based on when you became eligible to file for citizenship. I was eligible in April but filed in June

In-line- you have completed biometrics and will be assigned an interview. Just let's you know the USCIS is processing and arranging your interview soon.

    CORRECTION:

Priority- based on when they received and began processing your file

I mistakenly explained the eligibility date, not the priority in the prior post.

  2. Could someone explains what Priority and In LIne mean here?

Priority- based on when you became eligible to file for citizenship. I was eligible in April but filed in June

In-line- you have completed biometrics and will be assigned an interview. Just let's you know the USCIS is processing and arranging your interview soon.

  3. On July 1, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview.

  4. You're welcome. Not sure if besaangel is saying they're not currently accepting walk ins at that office, but basically any office can do walk ins it's just a matter if they will take you or not. You can try the one closest to you, or a different one and see what happens. The worst that can happen is they'll deny your walk in and say come back when you're scheduled. Doing an early walk in is better than rescheduling because rescheduling can cause all kinds of delays in the process. Good luck!

The question was did anyone do a walkin in NYC this month, which there hasnr been. Hopefully I didn't read it wrong but that's what I answered to.

I was busy this week but I had a EB on Thursday at Dover. Online status still says initial review

  5. I'll be trying for a walk-in tomorrow, granted my appt is next Wednesday. I've done this for all USCIS processing and they are really awesome. The officers know me by now and were telling me about their kids, asking about hubby, asking me about nursing school and showing me their "better than an iPhone" phone lol.

My BFF husband took me to the ROC walk-in since he had his military biometric in Dover also and was freaked when he came to pick me up and heard the officer and I "arguing" about why I wasn't carrying a suitcase-sized purse or fancy wallet and makeup bag. Dude is hilarious!

  6. Yes it will be different. If they are outside the country you go the consular filing route. If they are in the U.S. they can adjust status in the U.S. (assuming they did not intend to come in and adjust status when they last entered).

Yes, she can go out of status if that's what you're asking. Since she is filing as the immediate relative of a U.S. citizen, it doesn't matter. Also, F1 people have a 60-day grace period after they graduate.

well she will be oos by then... we have had a few family issues that have taken precedence over my citizenship being filed so she'll have to wait until then

    thanks for all the replies

  7. Same here.. Its just too expensive, quite frankly we wanted a house as opposed to throwing a wedding for other people to enjoy the free food and drinks while I pay $20k for them

We were asked at the AOS interview:

Where did you get married? Justice of the peace

No wedding? Nope, too costly and all of the family wouldnt be able to attend

Who was there? A few members of his family

Why not mine? They are in Jamaica and was too expensive (plus it was January and too cold for them)

Why wasnt his mom there? She thinks we are too young (22) btw

Ok, you guys are good... and that was it... I think they understand that we are not all into the wedding "bliss" and it doesne mean a thing in regards to your love
