congrats to all who have completed this process. I filed in October 23rd 2013. But as of today No Interview Text or Letter Yet--should I be worried

Last update in the USCIS Case status is the following: On December 19, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling.

Then

On January 15 I received a letter requesting additional documents--State ID or DL to bring with me for the interview. However no interview notification has been received.

Is this normal--should we be worried.

On May 1, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

We never received an email or a text message, but we are happy. I hope you guys get some good news soon as well.

I left the US in Sept 2010 and came back Nov 2010. My GC is in my married name but my SSN was in my maiden. I had no issues entering. When I went to the SSA to finally change my SSN to my married name (this was AFTER i had left the US and reentered on my GC) I was informed that my name was maiden in the system. So basically we were in the same situation but the difference is nothing was said to me about it at the airport and I didn't know till months later on changing my SSN.

I wish I could tell you more but I haven't experienced any issues because of it except that when I changed my SSN they had to send off for manual verification so it took longer than normal to get my card, and when I went for my DL I had to take my marriage certificate to allow the name change 'cause of still being listed as maiden name. I would perhaps make an INFOPASS if you're worried about it and find out what's going on.

When we were informed of the situation by the immigration officer at the airport, it was not a big deal because my wife's passport at that time had her maiden name and IO was able verify both names right of way. My wife is currently applying for a new passport though her embassy which will have her new name (same as the GC). I work overseas and she will be working overseas in the near future, and we don't want to have any problems coming in and out the country if the GC has one name the system show something different. I will make an INFOPASS for wife to go see what they tell her; maybe it's not a big deal....better safe than sorry...

Hello everybody,

My wife received her 2 year green card with the correct last name (married name) and we thought it was all good until we traveled outside the US. When we returned to the US, the Immigration official informed us that the name on the GC did not matched the name on the USCIS system; In the system it shows her maiden name and the GC shows her married name. When went to the Social Security Office to get a new SSC (without the "DHS Authorization to work" note), we were informed once again that the name in the USCIS system reflects her maiden name and the GC reflects her married name. The card is correct, all her other US gov issued documents (DL, ID, SSC) reflect her new married name. we want to avoid any future complications when traveling abroad, and when we file for the 10 year GC. Has anyone out here had to deal with a similar situation? Do we need to file any paperwork to get this corrected? any help in the matter is greatly appreciated...

This question has been asked and answered several times so no, you're not the only one to have this happen to you.

You will receive a "Welcome letter" and the GC in two separate mailing. One is the card, one is the welcome letter. Either way your card is on the way so stress less.

Is this normally the way the process works? I'm still having difficulty understanding both USCIS messages.

Example: The first message states, the card production was order and should be mail to me in about 30 days. (this message is prety clear) however when the second message came in, it confused everything.

Example:

Message two: Your Case Status: Decision

On February 3, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision

The second message states that they registered my wife's new permanent resident status, and the new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days.

So, she she expect two cards, one in about 30 days and the other after 60 days??? Please help me break this puzzle.

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On February 3, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Two hours later my wife received a second email from USCIS saying something different and this got us worried. Please some help us understand these notices. The first Email on on "Your case status " says Card/Document Production, the second email says Decision.

Second email from USCIS:

On February 3, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Is this normal, or because the first email says, tha card is under production, but the second email says the case in under "DECISION"

please help us understand this notices..

I got my GC 5 months after the EAD and AP. I got impatient so I called my congressman, and 2 days later the card was approved!

WOW!!! it took 5 months after the EAD, that's a long time. Normally i would not be so impatient, but I work overseas and my wife used to work overseas with me, and now she just got offered her old job back. I hope the GC comes soon so she can join me.. Thanks for all the replies...

After the EAD arrives, how long does "Normally" takes to receive the GC or at least an update. It has been 30 days since my wire received the EAD but the GC has not been touched. We are also approaching the the 5 moth mark since the beggining of the AOS process.

Thanks, it's just that all of us would like to be approved right away. Hopefully we will get it soon. Is anybody else going through the same????? over 4 months???

I feel your pain man; I filed on 03 Sep 2010, the case was transfered to SCS on 14 Oct 2010. The biometrics were done on 27 Dec (this week). We are patiently waiting. We are approaching the 4 month window. I hope we get approve soon. Since the biometrics, no touches, no updates.....tic toc..

Next is waiting untill they have an available interview time to give you. If they do not give you an interview you could be waiting quite a while to get the green card in the mail.

Interview??? I thought once your case goes to the CSC, you don't get interviewed. This does not sound right......

My case was transfered to the CSC on 14 Oct 2010, the bimetrics were done today(finally). What's next??? My case has been sitting at the SCS for 2 1/2 months waiting for the Biometrics. Does anyone know if the next step is fairly fast???

Thank you all for your advice, as i was getting my wife ready to go to the Dallas Service Center, I received an email from the CSC, saying that they received a service request and after they review my case, a biometrics appointment letter was sent today (07 Dec 10) YESSSSSSSS ....so, after 95 days, our bio letter will finally arrive. The Bio appointment is for 27 Dec 10, but I will have my wife do a "walk-in Biometrics" I wish i could with her, but i work in Iraq, and will not be able to make it.

Thank you all for your advice...Since my case has been sitting at the CSC since 14 Oct, i hope the GC and EAD will be approved very soon.....let's hope...

It's been a while since i posted on this thread. Here is a litle breakdown of my wife's case:

Filed on 03 Sep

Received NOA on 10 Sep

Case sent to CSC 14 Oct 10 (No Bio appt.)

On 15 Nov, after a long time waiting for the Biometrics appoint, i submitted a service request by calling the USCIS 1800 number. I was told that i should hear some feedback with 30 days. Yesterday (06 Dec 10) i received an email saying that my service request was received and was sent to CSC for futher review. Today (07 Dec 10) i received an email from CSC saying that my service request was recieved and "MY WIFE'S BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT LETTER WAS SENT TODAY AND THAT SHE SHOULD RECEIVE IT IN ABOUT 10 DAYS" YESSSSSSSSS ..Finally, after 95 days after filing......

We live about 15 minutes from the Dallas Service Center, so once the letter arrives, she will try to do a "walk in biometrics". I hope the guard will let her in. I wish i could be there, but i work in Iraq and I won't be able to accompany her.....

I filed my wife's AOS package on 03 Sep 10, the case was transferred to th CSC on 14 Oct 10. It has been over 80 days since we filed and we have not yet received the biometrics appointment. I wonder what is taking the Dallas Service Center so long? I made several phone calls to the USCIS 1800 number, but nothing has been done about it. This is getting pretty ridiculous. I keep seeing other cases where the biometrics appointments are sent within a month or so. My good friend from Washington filed on 3 nov and already received his biometrics appointment. Does anyone know why Dallas is taking so long? Is there anything i can do? any assistance is appreciated. Thank you

On 15 Nov, i called the USCIS 1800 number and a service request was generated. I was told that I should hear something with 30 days. Today i received an email stating the following:

Therefore, we have taken the liberty of forwarding your service request, number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to the California Service Center.

I have no idea what this could be, did anyone here go through the same situation, or does anyone know if this could be a good thing or bad thing. My case was transfered to the CSC on 14 Oct. Thank you in advance
