Well add us to this pitifully long waiting list!!!! I'm so tired of the waiting and checking my emails and looking to see if any of us have an interview date. I think waiting over a year for this is absolutely unacceptable. However there seems to be nothing we are able to do about it. Why have the fiance visa been processed faster? I hope everyone would be processed quickly but that hasn't been the case.
I also agree that calling NVC has not been helpful. They follow a script that has been written and practically read from it verbatim. I'm tired of having people ask me why we don't live together by now?
all the best to all of you waiting!!!

I would hope everyone gets one! I think after waiting all this time if I didn't have that email I'd be calling them non- stop to make sure they hadn't forgotten us. That's how it feels at this point with no interview date as of yet! 83 days and counting ....
Hopefully someone will have an interview soon out of the group of us waiting
!!!!!

Hi,
US hubby talked with NVC today. They know they are behind and are trying to catch up on the interviews so they will continue this week to arrange for interviews.
Don't give up if you haven't heard today! They are working all week on assigning interviews for September.
I gather this was a manager as he's been frustrated with the wait.
Hopefully this info was correct!!!!
thinking of all who are waiting for info!!!!

So what to do when your alone in the evening and time and space keep you apart...(not to mention the immigration process! ) Exercise the lungs you've been wanting to use ranting
... ahem try singing maybe!
So lets see what you all can do with your voices ?!

I think if you have a note from your Dr. you can apply for an exemption. I forget the forms name but it is on the gov's website.
All the best!
-
Nice job! Well its 344 days today since filing our I130 and hard to believe no interview date.

Okay so I'll admit I am a health nut and pay attention to the news. I'm not gullible but I've watched first hand how environmental substances can harm your health.
This affects all of us! So I'm posting this link with the hope of helping even a few who watch it!

Hi,
You'll be fine!!! You know how nervous we get when crossing the border as everyone is a suspect
. You've managed that with confidence and no problems. Well they have already done your background check, you've been cleared by your police check, and you have a true love who supports you!
We all find love in the strangest places, that's what love is about. Not an arranged marriage, and you already live in a great country so your not escaping from horrible conditions. RELAX... BREATHE.... EXHALE... All of us here are with you in spirit! This is a poem I wrote I'll share with you to ponder and maybe it will bring some peace of mind to you!
TRUE LOVE MEANS
Will you walk with me through this fragile world?
Will you be my friend and share my thoughts and dreams?
Will you whisper my name in your darkest hour?
I hold all the moments we've treasured so dear.
Each like a delicate snowflake never repeated.
Will you rest in my heart? May I rest in your?
Whether together or apart held by a prayer.
Life in an everlasting garden of peace and love.
Like bubbles I will blow away any sadness and despair.
With a hug and a smile and a soft touch may we express our love.
Love is a gift given freely no strings attached.
Trust proven by genuine love and constant attention.
So take my hand and kiss it gently.
Never will we have to part for we are joined in one heart.
Silence will envelope us with ease and breath.
Knowing we will always share a special glance,
A knowing smile, and three meaningful words.
Don't hide your thoughts from me.
Release all the darkness so the light will shine forth.
If tears like raindrops fall,
Rest assured a rainbow will follow.
For I will then in a moment be by your side.
A commitment we have made before friends and family.
Sharing a joy of a united love.
A vow not taken lightly,
To remain faithful and respectful.
Of our precious LOVE.

Hi Josh,
The K3 is obsolete now. So actually if you marry you will file the I130 for the CR1
. This is the guide for doing that ... http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1
She will be able to visit you but have to prove ties to Canada when she does. File asap as the process is not quick. Montreal is really slow. For some reason the fiance visa's seem to be faster at the moment. So check the guides to see which you think will work better for you. Yes the CR1 is cheaper but if you factor in the flying back and forth maybe the K1 is cheaper, if cost makes a difference.
All the best to you both!

I live in Vancouver and it just makes no sense that I have to pay hundreds of $ to fly to Montreal for a fifteen minute interview!
If Montreal has to do more then they should hire more staff! arrggghhhhhh!!
-
Congrats and thanks for the number! I wonder if they'll respond to CR1 people???
-
Hi,
I searched but couldn't find one. Here is there toll free number they are available till 10pm eastern time I think. , 1-800-829-1040
Waiting along with you

As far as I know he cannot file for a green card without leaving the country since he entered without inspection.
As to "waiting" well he risk arrest, deportation, jail time, he can't work, he can't get a job. So if the thought of your husband being incarcerated and deported doesn't bother you take the risk.
Her question was an honest one and many don't know the laws ..your answer was cryptic. If she didn't care she wouldn't ask!
-
Awesome news, maybe they could encourage Montreal along!

I met my hubby through a music site called Jango. Its not a dating site but maybe its turning into one ...
He's a musician, and I love music and photography. We talked for hours on the phone and decided to meet in Seattle as I go there often and he has family there. The rest is history. He flew up to visit me in Vancouver and i showed him our lovely city and he proposed and we got married on the beach in Kits. I can't remember how many times he's missed his flight home. I remeber the border guards giving me a bad time for going to visit someone I hadn't met in person. Yet talking for hours on end with no intent to impress actually was better than meeting first.
PS>>> I agree great idea Vero, some interesting stories eh!
-
He will need a new one as unless it was in the last 2 years it it not sufficient. Here is a link for you to read.

I try to add humour to this process!

I just want to add that you are so close to your interview that it's not worth it, and you told them 2 weeks. That is why they said to leave in 2 weeks. One reason they ask when were you last down, and your ties to Canada is to see if your being honest with them. They type in info for the next customs agent. For them to have kept you that long and yet still let you through, they are giving you the benefit of the doubt for not having enough proof with you. You don't want to jeopardize your visa.
I'm guessing you drove down or you would have missed your flight? Enjoy your time there, hopefully they'l have an interview date for you when you get home.
When I've travelled by air sometimes they have stamped my passport and other times they haven't. Going by car has some times been more of a hassle, if not with family or friends even just to shop.
Soon it will be over and you'll sail through.
