In Vancouver you needed to give the ... I know I had Chicken Pox disease, do I still need a blood test?
No. If you actually had the disease, verbal confirmation of the EXACT YEAR YYYY is acceptable.
We cannot accept approximations such as "under 12" or "when I was young". Please provide the EXACT YEAR YYYY.
If you aren't sure just get your GP to do a blood test for anti-bodies. It takes about a week to get it back.
You don't need the flu shot unless your in the age group requiring it according to Dr. Seiden's office.

I see no reason she can't visit. Its important for her to show her ties to Canada, job, lease , phone bills etc. IT IS ENTIRELY up to the border official but if she has a return flight and evidence of filing her papers she should get through. I traveled back and forth through the whole process many times and was held up a couple of times for questioning but was never denied entry. Many of us have kept our relationships strong doing this. Just always tell the truth to the questions they ask.
All the best!

Booked the Nelligan through Fall Sweet Deal. It wasn't cheap but we figured after all this stress it would be a nice place to stay. http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/Offers
http://www.hotelnelligan.com/ The best flight deals we found were through West Jet. His through Kayak, not a cheap adventure flying to Montreal from the West Coast considering there is a consulate in Vancouver...:pop:But I hear the poutine is awesome!
Will give you a review after we're through! All the best to those of you with interviews!

Medical review ...my thoughts as well for others who may worry about the medical.
I have a past history of depression and surgeries. I also suffer from hypothyroidism which is on-going although my health is now good thankfully. Yet looking at the medical questionnaire and the word " CHRONIC " :unsure:I was unsure what they meant as some info I had found seemed to contraindicate what they wanted or needed. My own physician was also puzzled. She wondered what they were looking for?
I tried to obtain medical records of previous surgeries but they had been archived when I changed Dr.s, not forwarded as I had asked so I was troubled.
I contacted the hospitals for the exact dates and surgeon and prepared a letter from my current physician as to my current health and medications.
I was thankful I did as it made me more at ease for my medical exam and also had the information in hand the physician wanted and THANKFULLY I did not have to deal with having my case deferred.
THIS WAS THE INFORMATION THAT CONFUSED ME ...
After waiting so long for this appt. it didn't take much as it held my future in the balance. fortunately my husband told me not to worry that no matter what we would work through it.
My thoughts now are : DON'T OVER THINK THIS EXAM ... IF YOUR HEALTHY THAT IS THE MAIN THING ... IF NOT CONTINUE WITH WHATEVER TREATMENT YOU NEED, THINGS WILL WORK OUT!
7. MEDICAL RECORDS (IF APPLICABLE)
Bring physician's letters regarding any current or past C H R O N I C illness, MAJOR surgeries or hospitalizations.
If your information is incomplete, YOUR CASE WILL BE DEFERRED.
Major surgery usually involves an overnight stay and/or anesthesia. Your records should include the reason for surgery, the outcome
and prognosis. Please note that C-section birth, appendectomy, arthroscopic knee surgery, breast implants or wisdom teeth removal are
not considered major surgery.
If you have a Chronic Illness EITHER PAST OR PRESENT, bring information about your diagnosis, treatment and current status of your condition. Ensure you bring enough information to clearly outline your history and current condition or your case will be deferred until the proper information is received.
Patients who have previously tested positive for TB & HIV must bring good documentation regarding the current status and treatment records.
1. What do you mean by "Chronic Illness"?
Chronic illness is an ongoing condition such as diabetes, emphysema, asthma, etc.
If in any doubt, bring records or a letter from your Doctor about your condition, treatment and medication.
If you have previously tested positive for TB or HIV, you must bring good documentation about your current status and previous treatment records.

3. Do I need to bring a letter or medical history from my Doctor if I've never had a chronic illness or major surgery?
No. If you are in good health, you do NOT need a letter from your Doctor.
FOR ME IT WAS BETTER TO BE PREPARED AND SAFE THAN UNPREPARED AND SORRY:idea:
MY REVIEW.
With thanks to Philandjulie (F)I found that we should park in the lots behind the building where you can park for 13 dollars as opposed to horrible price in the underground.
I arrived at 6:10 am to find the doors had already been opened so I was number 14 in line. At 6:45 we were all told to line up in order and we were given the forms to fill out and sign. After turning those in we went in random order for our blood tests. At approximately 7:30 am we were called for A note for anyone with long hair, take something to tie it up, as the technician was looking for something for me to hold my hair up with...lol.
At approx. 8 am the Dr. started calling people in order by number for the exam. He was polite and asked me these questions : What does your husband do? Where are you going to live? What do you want to do when you get there?
I had given him my medical history in writing which he read, asked my to confirm the medications I was on. Asked me the names of the Dr.s who performed the surgeries, he knew of these Dr.s Asked about my health and that was it. The nurse who came in the exam room with me brought the papers with my medical history on it and said " we don't need to keep these".
I went out to have my height and weight done next and paid for the medical. The nurse at the front desk noticed I had depression ticked off on the form DS 2053 that they give you in the beginning to fill out. she asked if I had talked to the Dr. about it. I said yes that he had my notes. She said she would confirm this with him and that was it. I was done by 9:30.
I decided to go home and wait till 1:30 for my results. When I returned the room was full and one of the women I was talking with said my name had been called. I looked around the full room and thought, what was I missing? I got to the counter and she handed me my envelope and ex-ray. I was puzzled as I was way down on the list, and figured I would be one of the last they called. I asked if it was okay, she said YES you passed.
I felt like I was floating and had the biggest smile I've had on my face in awhile.
I said goodbye to some of the people i had met and told them about VISA JOURNEY and the help it has been for me. The ones I talked to had hired lawyers and were waiting even longer than we had.
THANK YOU VISAJOURNEY FRIENDS!!!!!
I WAS MORE RELAXED ARRIVING AT THE APPT. THAN I WAS WAITING FOR THE DAY TO COME. I HOPE THIS INFO HELPS TO ALLEVIATE UNNECESSARY WORRIES YOU MAY HAVE.

So happy for you both! Thanks for the review. It must be such a relief it's over
-
YES CALL,
They say to call them if you haven't received anything within this time frame.
All the best!
-
I agree more info, this does not allow your husband or wife in to your interview with this terminology as I read it. ????
-
That's why they do background checks, they are looking for fraud and terror threats. They aren't seeking to keep legitimate people out, so why worry unless you have a reason too.
-
So cute! Soon you'll all be together!
-
Ask Trailmix she might know but I don't remember seeing any. January yes, but I don't remember any in December. You could phone Montreal and ask if they are scheduling for Dec. They'll schedule till the end of this week, i wouldn't give up hope for November yet!
Here's hoping they finish off all June people! They are so far behind!!!
