  1. Hi,

I wouldn't risk it as you'll need it at some point anyway. I was given an RFE because my divorce certificate didn't have the courts RED SEAL even though it was the original document. I had to go to the court that issued it and pay for them to certify that it was the original document.

I think its better to be safe than " shoulda coulda woulda". An RFE will hold you up more than getting the document.

Just a thought for whats its worth.:D

  2. Hi,

The panel physician makes the decision according to the government website. What if the applicant has a history of harmful or violent behavior?

Applicants with any history of harmful or violent behavior resulting in injury to people or animals, or harm to inanimate objects must provide information that will allow the panel physician to determine if the behavior was related to a psychiatric or medical problem, or to drug or alcohol use. Harmful behavior includes attempted suicide or self-harm, no matter how minor in nature.

If the panel physician had the information and gave him an okay then he obviously felt that medically he is fine. Having letters from his physician was a good thing.

    All the best!

  3. Hi,

A quick add on to this topic. I was issued an RFE for electronic processing of my long form birth certificate for EP. You can request and pay for it online http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/subjects/cards/birth_certificate.shtml.

When you scan the document make a note with it that it is an original and that it has the parents names and birth places on it. It looks like what our money does with holograms on it and a scan of it looks weird to be honest!

    :)

  4. Its nice to see someone who is honest and seeking help, it takes courage to do this on a public forum. Its a large weight for you both I'm sure. I have no helpful advice other than to seek some legal counsel and I hope there is someone out there who has access to that info in the US for you and your family. Honesty will serve you well!

I hope things will work out in the best way for all of you.

Found a song that might help in the times it feels overwhelming.

    All the best!

  5. Your welcome, I think the last people out after the exam was about 10 am. I'm sure you'll have no problem! I laugh about it now but all my worry makes me feel like I've aged 10 years ! So I really wanted to express how just being prepared is all you need to be.

    ;)

  6. Hi,

It is a wait for Montreal and hopefully they get some extra help for their back-log !!

Your interview took 414 days from your I-130 NOA1 date. There were some hic-cups with EP, they lost out OPTIN email and they didn't recognize the NEW long form birth certificate so we had to resend it with an explanation but it would have been faster than mailing it anyway.

Hence it took longer than it should have getting through NVC. Double check things before you send them, make sure you add the Cover sheet, and you'll be fine.

The wait is the agonizing part.

Thank goodness for this site and the support!

  7. So I've been living in the US for a year and a half now, and I've never been so sick!

A few factors I am aware of:

    *The cold and dry weather: We live in Wyoming;

*My working environment: As a substitute teacher, I am in constant contact with kids (from kindergarteners to high schoolers).

I eat healthily, I am active and I exercise.. and in spite of being careful with germs at school, I still get sick quite often (colds with fevers, sinus infections...) and everytime it is knocking me down!

Any ideas why? I used to get a cold once in a blue moon in France, and the symptoms were never as strong as what they are here.

Any tips on getting my immune system stronger and more adapted to American germs/bacteria/viruses?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hi,

Even a good move causes stress and it's possible that dealing with the stress and continual exposure to viruses has left you immune system weak . I'm no Dr but you may want to add vitamin D to your diet and look up some info on your adrenal glands and what will build up your immune system.

I had similar issues for a couple of years, you name it I caught it . Had some blood tests done and was found my vitamin D level was close to nil. We use so many skin care products that have SPF 's in them that unless we spend 30 min a day in the sun we will lack this essential vitamin. There is lots of info out there to help our immune systems ;) Oh how I loved France by the way!

Hope this info might help, feel better soon!!!

  8. HI,

Phone them early in the morning or after 8 in the evening its the easiest time to get through.

Electronic processing is 'USUALLY ' faster.

Make sure they accept your OPTIN before you send your documents. the letter they send you back looks like the one below. You can have everything ready to go though. All documents should be originals and if you were divorced it need the Government seal . The birth certificate needs to be the long form showing your parents names and place of birth. Just a couple of things I learned along my journey.

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your interest in processing your case electronically with the National Visa Center (NVC).

Your case has been updated with the email address you have provided to us.

All further communication with NVC will now be done through this email address NVCElectronic@state.gov.

All documents and forms that we request and require from you should be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the Consular officer at the visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

Any questions regarding your petition should now be directed to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

All the best for a speedy trip through NVC:D
