Yea!!!! Green card received today!!! One week after approval letter so they must be speeding up
-
I received my approval letter today card ordered! Finally after 2 RFE's
-
Congrats to you guys! I got an approval today it said my cards has been ordered but may take up to 60 days... Well at least I'm approved !
-
I sent my police check in on the 17th so lets see how fast they process these ?
-
Well I got an RFE today as well...grrrr! I had to go for a criminal record check as well ....as they couldn't read my fingerprints even though I had them done twice. So I went to the San Diego record check office paid the 14 dollars and now I WAIT for them to send me the report to send to USCIS. No part of this process has been simple
-
Mine says initial review also...grrrrr!
-
Hi
Sorry your going through this! I got called back for fingerprints at the time of my biometrics appt as they couldn't read them. I was told that with women sometimes its common but not to worry. ( They are used to it ). I would go to a precinct to get it done. Yes to notarizing an affidavit.
Now I'm wondering if I too will get an RFE
Hope all is well otherwise!!!!
-
Awesome news for your approvals! Hopefully soon the rest of will get ours
-
I think it landed on the wrong desk! Maybe mine will come back with an RFE at some point. I did not send my marriage cert. either. I did show ID in both names when I had my biometrics done and they verified my husbands name from the file on record with USCIS. I sent the standard requirements bank statements, credit cards in both names etc. Hopefully they will get your info soon and send you along ROC road for 6-7 months of waiting unless you get fortunate like a few others here.
-
Congrats on your approval! I'm happy that you have finished this stage!!! It shows they can process them faster if they want to
)) Every once in a while a file seems to land on the right desk. I think most of us are getting used to the wait
-
Why do you think you'll get an RFE? They are slow...
-
Good stuff !! Congrats. Yup now the waiting. I made a few copies of the extension letter. I keep one in my wallet with the green card given that the g/c is expired. Plus I have an extra one or two copies just in case. Looks like the May crew is starting to get approved. Been a while, hope you are well !
Thanks I hope your liking your job and enjoying life with your new family
I am loving the weather here! My kids visit fairly frequently which is nice, if I'd moved to Toronto that wouldn't happen too often .
Your 10 year card should arrive soon by the looks of it!

I got a letter yesterday that I will have to have my biometrics redone as the FBI couldn't read my fingerprints ... new appt for Jan 8th 2013. Frustrating I thought I was done with that!
-
Great news! That was quick ( relatively ) hope it picks up for everyone!
-
Biometrics done today
They verified my married name took photo and fingerprints and was done. It was suggested to photo copy my extension paper just in case with travel it gets lost. So now the wait with our familiar group
-
That's great!

Thank you for the feedback guys! I was a little nervous about sending the confirmation for my address change since I did it on the late side; I didn't want to create problems... And I got my notice at my old address too
I requested the transcripts last night but I think I'll just send the returns. I have the transcript for our 2010 return, just not this last one.
Thank you again for your help!
On a side note I did not get a reminder to file for removal of conditions. Also, my green card was issued in my maiden name. I sent in my I751 with my married name and they sent my NOA1 and biometric appt. to me in my married name. I didn't send in the W2's with my tax returns just the returns that were done by a tax accountant.
Welcome to the long wait everyone
-
Hi everyone! I'm getting my evidence ready, and just had a quick question: should I delay sending the forms in and wait for my tax transcript or can I send in my tax returns? The guide said it was preferable, but wanted to see what you guys had done.
Also, I sent in my address change notice about a month and a half ago. To this date, I haven't received any confirmation and neither has my sponsor. Should I include the copy of the forms and delivery confirmation from USPS in the package or not even bother with that?
Thank you for the help!
I never received a confirmation letter of my address change either. We sent in our tax returns.

Congrats Spoom
I was wondering what happens at the biometrics appt?

I sent in 6 statements with the first and last page. They were random months from the beginning of arrival in the US to present. I didn't want to copy everything and felt with the other supporting evidence it would be enough.
-
Have a biometrics appt. now in december
-
I just sent my ROC and used my married name. My GreenCard was issued in my maiden name. My NOA arrived yesterday and was addressed to me in my married name so hopefully they will give me my new GreenCard to me in my married name as well. Hope that helps
-
I got my NOA letter yesterday. On the form it states " your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year'. So that would be from the date of expiration of your GreenCard in my humble opinion
Applying, then travelling to Canada? (split)
in US Citizenship General Discussion

Hi,
I'm in a similar situation. I married a narcissist and I'm getting a divorce. I also have stage 3 cancer so I want to return to Canada for a break from this situation. Can I apply for Citizenship and then leave for Canada for a break. I will be coming back and forth for medical treatment and finalizing the divorce but I cannot afford
to live here without his spousal support.
Any suggestions or links.
thank you in advance
