  1. Typically, its best to make a photocopy of ALL pages of the USC passport - at least that's what I did, but if you are going to make a copy of his passport, just make a copy of everything if you plan to include it - less questions asked in the future

Regarding giving them a lot of information, extra paper work is fine if you have the time - Its called front-loading, and occasionally it helps at the interview stage. So don't be afraid to send the supporting papers you have.

Placing a post-it note on the top of each attached document is not a problem but I'll advice you have a cover letter itemizing the attachments.

  2. We had the same issue on the K1, as long as there is no Administrative review going on, you will get it.

    Ours took almost 1 month.

Go to the consulate if you do not get it on the 17th, I believe inquires are now at 10 or 11am.

Take your visa issuance letter with you when you go.

Typically, if there are any issues, if they have your phone on record they will attempt to call you - No worries, sometimes it just is - Oh also send them an inquiry email after the 17th

  3. I Just found out, I have recieved an interview Date January 21, 2011 I called on 12/7/10 and the operator told me, it was sent over to ACCRA. Just so ya know my case was completed November 2009.]

    That is a long wait!

Its good to see you both got it! Congrats and Godspeed!

  4. I was wondering if anybody has an idea of what kind of question they

will ask my mum in Lagos? Her interview is next month.

What type of interview is she going for?

Either way, select the "Reviews: Embassy/USCIS&POE" on the top right corner of your screen.

Choose "Nigeria consulate" and see what others have to say about their interview experience - Occasionally, many posters place samples of the questions they were asked during the interview which could help Mum depending on the interview type.

  5. Don't worry. As you can see from my timeline, we were told to pick up the visa on a specific date and it wasn't ready until about a month later! They said nothing was wrong with our case and we weren't put into AP, they just had a delay. In any case, thank God delay is not denial!

So true Cheymo! Its almost one month (in 4 days) - and after 4 consulate visits while traveling between states (1 interview, 1 fingerprint redo, 2 inquiries), 1 DOS call, 1 written but unsent correspondence - It finally, came with no rhyme or reason whatsoever for the delay. Thank God anyway!

  6. We had our interview Nov 12th. We were told to pick up our visa on 19th. She went there and was told it was not available for pick up. 22nd she got a call stating they needed her at the consulate for a fingerprint reprint because there was a mix up (how this is possible I dont understand)!!

She went on the 23rd, and during the fingerprint retake she was asked if she was giving back her passport (My first thought was WTH will they be asking if her passport was giving back to her when she was approved)- She responded NO. The CO gave her another letter stating to go back and pick it up on the 30th. Needless to say, its still not there as of today.

Next action plan Call DOS, and go back to the Consulate.

Anyone else had this problem recently? or finished their interview after the 12th and had any issues picking up their Visa? This is very frustrating

  8. It would be unfair if I didn't post here to say thank God I found Visa Journey and everyone here. You all have been so helpful! I would not have known what to do without all the information and help here

My fiancee and I practiced every question on the Nigerian consulate review posted by others, and sure enough many questions we practiced were asked. Not only that, she also heard a few other uestions from other people taking their own interviews as well.

:ot: Just a quick request, when you take the interview please post the questions at the minimum to help others, since it seems their questions do change even so slightly, but from all I've read there is a format or standard set of leading questions they use.

So she's finally coming home!!!
