Amyyduck got a reaction from saintike in USCIS-CSC background check delayed the case
In the past week, you've posted a new thread containing this SAME information FIVE separate times. I'm sorry you don't like the answers that you're getting, but unfortunately they're true. You've contacted everyone you can, no one can speed up the process for you. It sucks, but you'll just have to wait it out. Posting this same thread over and over again is not going to help.

Amyyduck got a reaction from pddp in America...your bread sucks.
Blame the government! (generally my go-to place to lay blame) But seriously, the US government subsidizes corn farmers making corn the most prevalent crop in America. They had to come up with some way to use it all so they started putting it in EVERYTHING! Almost all non-perishables contain HFCS or some other corn byproduct. Think you can escape it by cutting into a nice juicy steak? Try again, the livestock here is all corn-fed as well. It's inescapable and there is substantial proof that as corn production has increased, so has the nation's waistline.
This is a pretty good article if you're interested in reading more. http://st4tic.wordpress.com/2008/04/25/corn-subsidies-how-congress-is-shortchanging-our-health-and-sweetening-things-for-the-food-industry/

I'm so glad you were able to enjoy your honeymoon without any problems, and thank you so much for posting about it as well! I've been making (tentative, of course) plans for the wedding and honeymoon and I really wanted to be able to go to the USVI but had read so many contradicting things that I wasn't sure.
This makes me feel so much better! =)

There were actually a couple of NOA2's handed out early this month. Check Igor's list for VSC. Also VJ members only make up a tiny fraction of all the petitions that USCIS receives, so for all we know, there've been TONS of approvals recently, just not VJ ones.

Actually there is a +1 button down in the right hand corner. It doesn't do a whole lot but if enough people "+1" a post, it gets a star next to it and a label that says "popular" or something like that.

    Hey guys, quick update:
Another July VSC filer was just approved today, well he found out today but the approval was dated for the 18th.
At this point any progress is good news so I'm very happy about this!

Anyway, OP, I am going to second Amyyduck's advice and say to read the instructions again thoroughly before sending off your application. Better to be safe than sorry in case you may have missed other important information. Good luck!

Amyyduck reacted to candn in The CSC Received over 2,000 I-129Fs in August
First, I am not looking at the negative side of things. I am looking at it from a economic and political viewpoint. I could care less about waiting as I anticipated it BUT there are ways of handling things more efficiently. All my posts are about how things can (and should be) handled differently to provide equitable service to all. Second, maybe the government should operate as a private instiution when it comes to the demand for visas. When there is an increase in visas then increase your staff to address the issue to make your goal. The "they cannot anticipate demand" is a lousy excuse especially when there are so many unemployed citizens. Next, as a taxpayer, fee payor, and US born citizen I expect more from my government regarding fees for service. If I am paying for a service, I expect a service. If I pay my taxes late, I can incur a penalty. If they process late, then I have the right to question why I am paying for less than I receive. It may or may not do any good but I do have the RIGHT to state what I feel about it. Why should someone that has a clean record and clearcut case wait months NOT because they have issues with their case but because they are sitting on a shelf somewhere????? It only take 15 or so minutes to adjudicate a file that is complete and problem-free. Finally I am not lucky to be eligible to apply for citizenship as I already have it. I am speaking from a processing standpoint and as the petitioner. My fiance and I already said it's not about the citizenship, it's about the being together so if he can't come here, I will go there. It would be nice for him to come here but it's not all about obtaining American citizenship as much as two people in love being together.
I am not unsympathetic to the USCIS adjudicators but I will not sit here and remotely pretend to think this process is the best. Thank you for showing the other side of the picture.

That seems like a waste of time to me. Any responsible adult knows better than to make their facebook profile open to the public. And if you're stupid enough to post incriminating evidence on VJ, then you deserve to get found out and denied for it.
People put way too much stuff out there these days for people to see. Whatever happened to privacy??

Amyyduck reacted to Penny Lane in "Touched" ..... Where?
Well, this post is certainly full of overreactions.
It really isn't difficult to research a simple question. There are so many posts a day, it should be assumed that the question you'd like to ask has been asked and answered before. There is a search function because of this. While there are no stupid questions, there are the same questions nearly every day sometimes. Going back a page or two doesn't take long.
However, if people aren't interested in answering the question, it's easy to simply provide a link to where the answer is and move on. I don't think anybody was being rude or unhelpful, just trying to guide people into using this forum to its full potential.

I find it's best to tell the truth. If they never directly ask you who you're staying with or who you're here to see, then by all means don't bring it up. But if asked a direct question, you have to answer honestly.

First of all: breathe. Its all going to be ok. Vermont and California are no longer doing K-1 intake. Texas does the initial processing of all K-1 petitions these days and then forwards them on to either VSC or CSC for adjudication. Your petition is in the right place and it looks like your NOA1 should be right around the corner. Welcome to the long waiting period!

Amyyduck got a reaction from B & C in Affidavit of Support- Alternative Options
Ok, so here is my understanding of the situation:
The I-134 doesn't technically require you to have a copy of your most recent tax return. That requirement is actually tied to the I-864 which is a similar form but you file it during AOS rather than during K-1. They use the I-134 to pre-evaluate whether or not you would qualify under the I-864 requirements. Definitely you can also use a couple of other things as proof of income such as a few recent paystubs, a letter from your employer and a letter from your bank stating that you make a regular deposit of $X (your paycheck). I did a little bit of searching as well and someone else was recommended to write a letter stating that because they received no income for the years x - y they were not required to file a tax return, hence the lack of return. The thread can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/268909-sponsor-did-not-file-tax-returns-in-all-of-the-last-3-years/
Hopefully someone else will come along who has done it before and can give you better advice. For now though, hopefully that helps.

Edit: That advice is probably sound for when you go through AOS but I did a quick re-read of the I-134 instructions http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf as well as the affidavit of support tips http://www.visajourney.com/content/support and I'm no longer convinced that a copy of your tax return is actually required.

If your instinct is saying yes and you can afford the trip without too much trouble then I'd say definitely go for it. I'm planning on being there for my Fiancé's interview, not for the sake of making our case stronger but simply because I know my Fiancé well enough to know that he'll need me there when the time comes. And because if everything turns out the way it should, I want to be there with him so that we can celebrate together!
