*does a "lets sell Leslie's house" dance*
-
Hey Bri, have you called DOS yet? I guess a whole bunch of P4's got sent out this week! Maybe you???
goodness i hope so. we called the DOS a few days ago and they told Joe that they send them out in batches and its just a matter of waiting. we were not given any more information to go off of unfortunately. i think we'd both be at ease if we knew the P4 was on it's way. i've got all my docs in order, my teter tests, my tetanus shot, my criminal clearance sheet, affidavit of support, his income tax return packet, proof of his employment and both mthly & annual salary, our letters of intent and my 5 passport photos with an additional 2 to update my passport (it expires next july). i just gotta wait on Joe to fax my Mum a copy of his lease and his drivers license and go to my medical in Oct. then we're prepared for the interview.
i had to see Joe off today. i tried my best to stay strong so that he wouldn't get upset before he had to drive the 8hrs home. but the moment i stepped through my front door, i just bawled. my family is super supportive and my nephew is coming to stay for the weekend. so plenty to occupy me. but it's only temporary. after spending the last 5.5mths with him by my side, i have to endure the final 2mths without him and it's gonna be hard. i cry to myself now and then and it's only been just over 2hrs since he left. i just keep telling myself there are plenty of us Feb Filers who are still separated and i was lucky enough to be with mine all summer. hopefully in a day or so i'll be back to normal (i'm not a big crier).
Me...Well, 2 wks until the interview! Holy Hanna it's been a long haul. I still haven't sold the house & I'm ready to lose it. We can't plan anything until this place sells. I just don't know what to do. I'm bordering panic mode. I would of really liked to POE in Oct., but it's not looking like it now.
are you not able to leave it with a family member to oversee while you deal with a realtor while in the US? what about selling it with just a bit of money after breaking even? it's rough selling a house so close to the winter months and with the housing market so crummy these last few years....it's gonna be tough. so sorry you're super stressed about it, but i hope and pray to the stars that someone good will come along and grab that house! where abouts is it and how much is it on the market for? have you tried putting it in the papers or craigslist or supermarket bulletin boards? even facebook?! advertise your face off!

first i'd like to say WAKE THE F UP VERMONT AND GET YOUR ####### TOGETHER! *takes a deep breath* i still cannot believe Paul and Van are still going through this #######. it's ridiculous!!
Poacher, grats on the wedding!!!! bet Veka is happy with at least her permit. soon enough she'll have her license and her independence to bustle around.
Solmarc, glad the medical went by without any hiccups. best of luck on the interview!!
Princess, that was sweet of Ken to take the day off so that you could see the wee one's off to school. glad they've got mates to play with and a wee kitty to boot!
Les hope the days are passing quickly, 24th isn't far off now. keep your spirits up luv!
Joe and I are still waiting on our P4. Rather unsure whether it'll come to me, or him. We're up in Canada at my mums place (been back since Sept 1), he leaves to go back to the US tomorrow morning (I've been lucky enough to spend the summer in the US and he brought me back to Canada do the last minute stuff for the process and so now we'll be separated until the day before the interview date). I thought for sure we'd have received something in the post by now but nothing's come yet.

I am sooo nervous Leslie, i feel i am going to have a breakdown, next week ill know... well i am pretty sure we are fine and we will get the visa, but also i am just, i cant explain it, my head is spinning...

been 42 days since our P3 was logged and DOS has no information on our P4 being sent out. only thing i got done was my vacs and booked a Medical date. woo...
-
it does help, thanks a ton!!
-
grats on the smooth trip over the US UK. glad to hear the wee ones are settling in well.
i can't find the list for age appropriate needles that are required to update our vaccination records. would anyone happen to know which are required for those who are 30-40yrs of age?
-
that's ridiculous. Paul and Van, you guys sent in more then Joe and I did and ours went through fine. seems like someone on the USCIS end dropped the ball. but either way, whatever their request is likely something very small and fixable. being that it's the last of the february petitions, it will get pushed through upon return.
don't let this stupidity rain on your parade. keep your chin up and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers hoping the rest of your process goes MUCH smoother.
on a side note, i'm wondering if there are any other military couples out there going through this process. Joe has just received orders to report to a different state (Dec 10 2010) and i'm wondering how that might affect our petition process.
-
Ok,Joe just called DOS and they told him our p3 was logged at the end of July. So we're pretty much a month later in timelines Les. Here's to hoping!
-
i just noticed, between your timeline and ours, that it took them 8 days to log your p3. so judging from that time...ours arriving on July 16, Montreal would have logged ours around July 26. That would put Montreal at sending our p4 out by the 1st of Sept (which is the week Joe and I drive back to Toronto - a great homecoming present!). So hopefully we should have our interview for the 3rd week of Oct (fingers crossed!).
i just hope we have the same luck as you two!!
-
thanks girl! you will be very soon, i just know it!
did you find out if your p3 was logged in?
Joe is going to call the DOS on Monday from work and see what's up. Hopefully it's been logged and it's just a matter of waiting our 40+ days for our interview date.

WE GOT AN INTERVIEW DATE!!! SEPT 24TH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grats Les!! I have some hope we might actually get ours soon after...maybe, or I hope so!! Hehe. But *jumps up and down cheering for Les and Scott*. I'm SO happy for you both!!!!
-
*yawns and stretches*
well it's been awhile. i lost or well, forgot my login/pw. hope all is well. still nothing signifying that our P3 has been rec'd/logged. we sent it out July 12th and it should have been received by July 14th. it's not nearly a month later with no word. i hate that Montreal takes forever to get stuff done. it's ridiculous how difficult they make it for Canadians. *sigh*
Paul and Van, i'm glad someone is finally stepping in to take ownership of the disaster that is your case file. i can only try to imagine how frustrated you both are.
anyhoos, that's our update :/
take care for now everyone *fingers crossed for everyone here*

haven't found any numbers to or people to contact to ask. Joe said he'll call the State Department for help.
-
i'm in panic crisis mode, for some reason my DS-160 didn't want to print out, nor did the confirmation page. so now it's been submitted and i have no document that it was. what am i supposed to do now??????
-
126 damn days now and still nothing.... GRRRRRRRR!!!
Congrats to those who have been lucky to get everything and get their interview set!
you definitely need to call someone because that's some serious bs right there.
-
got the letter from NVC with MTL case #. waiting on my mum in Toronto to let me know when the packet arrives (as i'm still visiting the US).
-
I swear they hate Canada! Is it because we are so close? Or because we are the least of their threats on this planet? LOL!
I'ma go with both. *keeps her fingers crossed for Van* GO CANADA!
Oh and I know Princess won't see this until she's back, but hope things went well in London!!

126 DAYS OF HELL AND WORRY AND WAIT IS FINALLY OVER!
I just came back from a day out shopping with my Mom and I heard the text and thought "it's probably my friend," even though when I get a text at this time of day I always HOPE it will be the government. The ONE DAY I thought for sure we would not get approved AND WE FINALLY ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought I'd never be able to type this.
Thank you SO much to EVERYONE who has helped and supported me! I will continue to stand by those who are still awaiting the joy that I have just received. Thank you for the midget, poacher, he did some good! Time to pass it off to yourcdnangel, O&C, and anyone else still on the waiting list!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It's been 125 days for us.. pbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbth. *blows raspberries* They're so slowwww. Neither of us have a criminal record, have been previously married, there is nothing holding them back. Just laziness.
ya, i'm a high ranking police officers daughter and Joe is in the US Army. so needless to say our background checks are spotless. while he has been previously married, a certified and stamped copy of his decree was also in our original packet. so really, it would have been a "lets read their story. ok looks legit." and pass it along sort of deal. i just don't get the hold up.
*keeps fingers crossed not only for herself but the other Feb stragglers that VSC has seemingly forgotten*
