I waited until we were in AP for almost one year prior to contacting my congressman. I don't want to clog the wheels of progress with requests for assistance unless they are needed.
These persons who's response to every problem or delay is "call your congressman" are creating problems. A congressional inquiry must be answered within a certain amount of time and takes time away from the actual processing of visas/petitions.
I would advise that unless there is a serious problem to just be patient and wait.

In my opinion, it would be best to use these types of resources for the following reasons:

The case is outside of posted processing times, or
They have a compelling reason to request someone intervene on their behalf.
I think folks are often under the assumption that calling a Senator's office will somehow speed up the process, it's simply not true in most cases.

Well, if you're buying it used, you're buying it from an American. Your money is staying in America. So I'd call that a yup.

It's not like they're sending agents into your house to monitor your salt intake, or implanting you with a microchip. They're not telling you what to eat at all. They're telling food manufacturers how to manufacture food to be more safe and healthy. No one's stopping you from just pouring a whole durn canister of table salt down your throat.
We could stop the gov't from monitoring meat processing plants, too, if you have a problem with gov't regulations on processing food.

Same sex marriages are recognized in Canada.
It might be easier for you two, in the long run, to get Canadian citizenship, then travel to USA for the work gigs.

Your game-plan sounds excellent..... but we must ask, why would anyone go to this trouble to get back Cd's her kids didn't like anyway.
    Bottom line:
she bought CDs which turned out to be duds.
By some odd chance a recall was offered and she could have gotten a refund,
As sometimes happens, she missed the date to make a claim.
SHe sent in the CDS anyway though I think it was advised not to as they don't want the responsibility of returning them.
NOw she has neither the refund nor the crappy CDs.
I hardly see how this could possibly be worth more effort than an email or two.

#######? That is called "pulling your own fcuking weight around the house". Glad I am not married to a moron who thinks he is doing me some fantastic favor worthy of the hardcorest of sex by watching his own kid or putting a dirty knife in the dishwasher. If that is how those men normally are, no wonder the women don't want sex from them. Hard to ** someone you resent.

Since you are married already, you can't do a pre-nup anymore. I guess you could still set up a contract with your husband that would contain paragraphs you'd usually have in a prenup.
I understand why you would be upset about his idea of a pre-nup. However, it doesn't have to only protect him or "the richer spouse".
You can also have pre-nups that say "if you ever cheat, you won't get anything",...that is totally up to the couple what they put in a pre-nup. It's all about protecting your interests.
If you feel like this is now standing between you and your husband because of the estate and his mom and all that, I'd definitley bring it up to him. Ask him what exactly he would have put in there and see what it is actually all about.
I am sure that if he loves you the same as you love him, he is not about "screwing you over" or anything. I know it's a touchy subject, but don't let it become a problem down the road.
    all the best!

If you marry that wonderful man for love, and your marriage lasts as long as you hope for (as long as death do you part), the prenuptual has no meaning. It's like its never existed and nothing to worry about.
You have to see it as an insurance policy. Only under the conditions outlined in the prenup (which we don't know), when you get a divorce, he is protecting everything he worked for his entire life before he even knew you. You would be still entitled to some alimony, again, depending on your State's law.
Imagine a multi-millionaire marrying a gold digger. Shortly after the marriage, she divorces him, then wants half of his fortune. To prevent that, it's rather common today to set up a pre-nup, especially if one partner has a lot of assets, and the other one has very little.
The bottom line, right to the point, is this: you sign the pre-nup, or you do not get married. If I wanted a pre-nup, and my wife-to-be refuses to sign it, it would tell me that she's in it for the money, exactly what I would be afraid of and wanted myself to protect from. So I wouldn't marry her.

It's obvious from the article the parents couldn't really afford the child to begin with, so what the hell they are doing having a third child, when they can't even afford to take care of themselves, is beyond me.

    Awesome post.
From what I read, SCOTUS typically won't hear a case about a new law until it's actually in effect and has had a "ripening." It could be 2014 before we hear any decision on the constitutionality of it.

No. Don't care. They are never worn here for any reason or in Ukraine. I make my comment in that often the people who supposedly demand equal rights for women seem the first to shrink from actually doing anything, or accept some horrible treatment of them because it isn't convenient yo do otherwise. Just sayin'

    Hey Megan,
A new update! I actually ended up calling NVC to confirm and remove the last teeny doubt, and the lady(God Bless her!) said that they actually shipped out our package on the 11th,so then I went back and checked for those dates, and according to that my embassy already has our package then.
Could it get any more exciting?I am going to look in for you as well and get back to you!
