  1. Hello March Fellows,

Yesterday I had my interview at 1:30 pm (Philadelphia, PA). There are many public parking around the building. Check-in around 1:10pm, first thru security (they were very friendly), then went to the 2nd floor. Right there, I gave my interview notice and the lady wrote down a "code" (perhaps the officer's last name???), forwarded me to the third floor where there were two other people waiting.. Nobody said a word, just took a seat and waited until an officer walked in and called a lady there. Then she asked if anybody else was there for the interview and she collected my appointment letter..

By exactly 1:30 pm, a young officer called me by my last name and I had to rush to follow him to his room (better take a seat close to the door). He told me to leave my bag (full of documents) in the chair that he pointed out and asked me to raise my right hand to take the oath. Right away I saw my big pile of documentation that I have submitted so far in his desk (just for the N-400, it has more than 1.000 pages!!!!).

He asked for my green card, passport and drivers license, and handled a paper sheet with my information to be confirmed, including my SSN #. Asked how many times I was married (just once), any kids (I said: "no, just cats.." and he laughed), if I want to change my name..

Without any warning he started to ask the six questions:

    1. What is the name of the national anthem? The Star-Spangled Banner

    2. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States? Pacific Ocean

    3. Why does the flag have 13 stripes? Because there were 13 original colonies

    4. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States? Terrorists attacked the United States

    5. How old do citizen have to be to vote for President? 18 and older

    6. What is the "rule of law"? Everyone must follow the law /Leaders must obey the law /Government must obey the law / No one is above the law

Then he showed a paper and asked to read: "How many US Senators do we have?" and write" "We have one hundred Senators"

After we finalized the interview he told me that he has never seen a submission like mine. He said, usually when they see a big package it usually a complicated case, where people have a lot to prove. In my case, he had a great experience going thru all my documentation and he said I did a wonderful job. He was sure me and my husband are a very happy couple!!!!

I asked him have many interview he performs per day and he answered 13...Then he asked if I was interested to attend the next Friday Oath Ceremony(07/26 @ 9AM).. and without hesitating and said "Absolutely", and he let me choose the time (morning or afternoon).. Then I asked if it was allowed to invited family to come over and he asked me how many people I wanted to bring.. I said three: my mother and father-in laws and husband, he said, not a problem.

By the end, he gave my Oath Ceremony Letter and My Test Result (approved).

I was very surprised how nice and friendly this officer was during the interview (10 minutes). He said it was very nice to meet me and wish me all the best!!!

Just want to thank everyone here in this forum for being my guide during this journey that is almost done!!

    Wish good luck to all!!

  3. On Aug.25 called one of our local House of Rep. for help. This person informed that he talked to USCIS and my case was being reviewed by an agent and should hear from them in the next 30 days. On Aug 27, called our local Senator's office and his assistant was very helpful. She requested that I fill the Privacy Release Form and I sent it right away.

On Aug.1, she informed that my case was approved on July 30 and forward to card production. No online updates/e-mail/text on this day.

Aug.2, received everything :e-mail, text and the Approval Letter in the mail (approved by local office - Philadelphia).

Now, just waiting for the GC!!!

    Thank you ALL !!

  6. OK.. Answering my own question.. Did my Bio today at UCSI York - Pa as scheduled on my Bio Appointment Letter.. While I was filling out the form, I asked the lady if they accept "Walk-In" and she told me that "YES", they do try to accommodate everyone who comes in.. However, they have a hard time to help people who go there between 8-9 am.. So her advise was if you need to do a "walk-in" visit, better to go between hours (example: 10:30/ 11:30..) and avoid rush hour (8-9am).

They are very nice and helpful people :)

  7. Hubby had his bio at York last month, we didn't do walk in though we went a few hours early. Only 1 person was there and she didn't have any ID so she had to leave and come back, nothing was said about being early. It's an hour drive for us, we're in Harrisburg. So we didn't want to risk it, but I got the impression it's no big deal if they aren't busy, they were just happy my hubby had everything he needed plus some. As We took passport, PA drivers license, green card, apt letter, NOA1 and birth certificate, though we only needed the apt letter and ID. There's no security guard at York, you just walk in and check in then fill out paperwork and then they take you when it's your turn, took 5 min.

Dear "Damian&Kelly", thank you very much for this specific information for USCIS York. I am just 20 min away from this office and I will try to submit my ROC on this Saturday and then, when I get the apt.letter I will try a 'walk-in':)

  8. you first will need the appointment letter,if you do have it you can go to the center check in with the security guard, if there not to busy thay should take you in, if not try another center if not to far, i think you will be o.k go early in the am.bring your photo ID your permanent resident card, state ID,passport, appointment letter.good luck.

Thank you for your advise :)

  9. Hello...

I am ready to submit my I-751 Package since my card expires on 11/25/2011. However, I am analyzing other people who have submitted this package since last month it seems that VSC has being scheduling Bios approx. in the next 30 days. I am wondering if anyone has tried a "early walk-in" at UCSI York located in York, PA. The reason I am asking this question is that my husband & I will be travelling to Germany from Sep.26 to Oct.2 2011 (Celebrating our second anniversary!!) Said that, I am afraid to send my package now and having the chance to be scheduled for Bio while I am travelling... I know that I can play save and send it on Aug. 31 and hoping that they will schedule my Bio for after I come back to USA. However, if anyone could help me to clarify if this place allows an early walk-in, I would be glad to send my package tomorrow :)

    Thank You:)

  10. Congratulations to:

Inky & Babylon for the GC !!!

Greg & everybody else who received the IL this week !!! Yes !!! Its getting closer & closer to the GC !!!!!

Also all October's filer who got their EAD & AP approved and in hands !!

We all know how hard and frustating is the waiting process .. But, when we get this step accomplished it makes you feel so much rewarded !!

Thank you very much, October's Filer Family, for all support and help !

    Wow !!

Now you can Drive, Work & Travel :jest:

    Congrats HeatDeath !!

  11. i was just confused..today i received a notification from USCIS that my EAD is ordered when just last Dec 3, i also got a notification about this.

    any idea about this?

    Thank you

and congrats to those who got their GCs :)

    Same thing happened to me.

When you get your EAD, you'll find it's valid from date is December 3rd, the date of the first card production ordered email.

I'm just about certain the 2nd card production ordered email is generated when the service center receives your card back from the card production facility.

In the next day you should get a "Approval notice sent" email. That will mean they have actually sent out your EAD card.

I'm pretty sure they're following the same process with my GC as well.

On Dec 2nd I got a card production ordered email that said they ordered production on Dec 2nd.

On Dec 3rd I got a second card production email, identical to the first, saying my card production was ordered on the 2nd. I think that mean that they got my GC back from the production facility the same day they ordered it, which makes sense if the CSC is also the card production facility and/or they prioritize GC production ahead of EAD production, so that GCs are made the same day, but EADs take a week to come back.

Today, Dec 7, I received an Approval Notice Mailed email, which tells me my GC is in the mail, hopefully.

I'm just not sure where the Welcome notice fits into this. It may be the approval notice mailed out today, and the GC may or may not be bundled with it, I don't know yet.

But I think I should be receiving my GC in the next 2-3 days, but who knows, it could show up today! :)

On the downside, tomorrow I have to go to the DMV to do a driving test to get my Utah drivers license. Seriously irritating. Their policy is all out-of-country drivers have to be retested, and I understand that, but really, Canada shouldn't count. Sigh.

Oh well, wish me luck for stuff in the mail today and my driver's test tomorrow!

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

    Congratulations!

Just got my "White" Green Card !!!! It's so "beautifil" !!! wowowowowowow

Also got the "Welcome Notice Section: Fiance (e) Adjustment COA:CF1 " Letter

I am sure we will see more post like this this week !!!

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Were your Welcome notice and card in the same envelope, or separate?

If separate, are they postmarked the same day?

They were sent in two different envelopes. The "Welcome Notice" was posted on Dec 2 and the GC at the same day they sent the approval e-mail, on Dec 3.

Yours will be soon in your hands !!!

  12. Post-Decision Activity

On December 3, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Congrats for all EADs, APs, AOS approvals and Bio Appoitments this week !!! :star:

We are moving fast now !!!
