this is getting a little crazy !!
Notaries only guarantee that the signature is valid--not that the document contains is valid. In fact, most notaries only log what the document IS, not what it says.
There is ZERO requirement that these affidavits be notarized. As I have said for the last several years--JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and the process is easy--not quick, but easy. There is not a single mention of notary in the 751 instructions about affidavits, so greatk, you are not doing anyone a service by pointing them to a link that completely contradicts what you say to be true

Oh gosh--if people can find shortcuts, let's encourage them instead of being grouchy old men (and women). Small minded and mean spirited comes to mind, so maybe being open hearted, inclusive, and optimistic are easier ways to live--at least it works for me. dunright--go for it and best of luck--maybe it works and maybe not, but assuming failure sure isn't a very good way to live--and I'm glad to see you aren't going down that path.
By the way, my wife is living in Costa Rica until we get through this--maybe we can meet sometime--I am back in CR the first week of March. Yes, I know my profile says she is Mexican--she is, but lives near San Jose.

    To the OP --
    1) Where does your wife live ?? Divorce laws are very different state to state, so in some states it will be easy, and in some more difficult.
    2) This is a big country and I can assure you that while you right now want to hide your face, no one here is going to care about what happened with your wife, but you won't really see that until you are here.
And then I think you will be surprised how quickly you adapt to a new culture. You can stand tall and be proud of who you are, and frankly no one will care about what happened with your wife -- but you won't know that feeling of total freedom until you are here.
And one thing you are not is screwed !! Every possible opportunity lies before you -- just reach out your hand and grasp your new life -- it all starts when you get off the plane and get the stamp in your passport -- it will be great -- actually better than great

And I forgot to mention that assuming you get into the US alright, you can immediately return to where you currently live to wrap things up there -- assuming you have enough cash to travel. It seems to me that that time is of the essence here -- if you want to get to the US and on the road to citizenship, you are dealing with a window that is closing -- might already be closed, so don't wait -- do it now or you may find that delaying even a few days makes the difference between a US opportunity and not having it ever again.
What's the downside -- a few bucks. What's the upside -- a life that is probably only available here. You are young, and the decision you make in the next days will undoubtedly change your life -- possibly forever.
Keep your airline reservation, and get on that plane next week -- remember what Confucius wrote many, many years ago -- you never know when you are having good luck. I suspect that good luck is waiting for you in the US. Do it !!

I think you know the answer. This is codependency -- big time. You gotta break the cycle one way or the other.
With 10 - 15 years to retirement you are still a young chick, and can do better -- much better.

And when you send him back, be ABSOLUTELY sure that you take his name off all the credit card accounts, or you may find yourself in an even deep hole. As they say, when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

Read it carefully -- only the expanded DACA is delayed -- the original is working fine and still available
Update: Due to a federal court order, USCIS will not begin accepting requests for the expansion of DACA on February 18 as originally planned. The court's temporary injunction, issued February 16, does not affect the existing DACA. Individuals may continue to come forward and request an initial grant of DACA or renewal of DACA under the guidelines established in 2012 and discussed below. Please check back for updates.

The issue is the Patriot act and anti money laundering laws.
If the amounts are small, there is unlikely any issue, but if the amounts are large -- over $10K -- then the bank is required to report the transactions to the regulators.
Most countries have reporting requirements about money brought into the country, but I have no idea about Nigeria. In the US, you have to report when you bring in more than $10000, for example.
Nigeria of course is famous for its scams, and this could just be another one, but scam or not, if your bank sees something suspicious or the amount is over $10K, they will report you to the regulators.
You can get around the whole scam question by using Western Union, MoneyGram, and countless other ways to send money internationally without any risk on your part.
