  1. True MarilyP.........if you dont have it around.......then you go with second best lol.

Im not sure I could do the Haggis.......although I have never had it........I have seen it made one time......but I could not get myself to eat it LOL.....sorry Pedro but I think it might be an "acquired" taste perhaps? lol

  2. We live just outside of St Louis......about 70 miles southeast to be exact.......I wish we would have known about the meet.....but hubby has a strange working schedule that changes weekly.....and he has to work tomorrow.... :(

    Perhaps another time..... :P

We'd like to meet up with other VJ's at some point.

  3. Snoring.....lol.......the lovely sounds of it.........NOT.....lol

Hubby snores horribly.......but the funny thing is he only snores when I get into the bed......yep its true......he can be sleeping away while I am busy working on homework or just surfing the net but as soon as I crawl into bed.......the sheets begin to tremble.....and thus the snoring sounds emerge lol.

THe only thing I can do is give him a (gentle...lol kick) but with alittle force behind it.....or have him roll over. Works for alittle while but allows me enough time sometimes to fall asleep before he starts the cycle again.

Can you believe he has accused me of snoring as well???? I couldnt believe and yes I denied it as well..........until.........the little booger got his cam corder and recorded me LOL it was hilarious.......I snored but it wasnt really a snore sound......not sure what I was doing LOL.

Oh well........happens to the best of us right? lol

  4. Cool Frances........actually I was just figuring up when my husband's next weekend off is........and next weekend.......hmmmm.....can taste those fish n chips already LOL.

Anyway, Ill have to make sure we can do it and perhaps we may just pop into chicago next weekend....

    Thanks for the invite!

MarilynP.........Ive had the Gordon's fish before.......not bad.....just not the same if you know what I mean.......once you have an English style fish n chips.....nothing compares in my humble opinion LOL

    Thanks though for the suggestion

  5. Its hard now no matter which site you go to to find relatively "cheap" airfare.....what a shame......isnt it?

My husband and I have not been able to go back to England for a visit in 2 yrs.........sighs............mainly because he cant get enough time off from work.....but also because the price of 2 adult tickets and then the price for a toddler (alittle more than half of what an adult ticket costs) just gets wayyyy to expensive. I think the last time I check for a flight to England (manchester airport) it was about $2700 for all 3 of us to go.....:crying:

    Sharri

Ohhhh to catch those "specials" its sortof hard (in my humble opinion) because they sell so quickly. It seems you almost have to have an inside scoop on when an airline is going to have a major "special fare"........ugh!

  6. When I had my first born son........who weighed a whopping 10 lbs and 2 oz......they had broke my water and induced me around 6am that morning and I was not taken into surgery for a C-section....when they realized he was too darn big.......until 5pm that night. He was born just after 6pm.

So all in all for myself it was a 12 hour long haul.......horrible.......they say when you are induced it is alot worse then if you went on your own (labor pains that is).......I thought the whole process sucked LOL.

But it must not have been that bad.........as I had a total of 4 children LOL with the largest one weighing 10 lbs 11 oz born 3 weeks early......

  7. Try Airfare.com........Ive always found alot cheaper flights there when I was travelling back and forth to England. Perhaps it can help you as well.

Ive actually got flights from the USA to England for between $500-$700 but in order to get those rates even now....you have to book usually a month or two in advance.

    Good luck

  8. Your right Frances........sometimes the English Pubs over here become a bit too as you called it "Americanized".....lol. But at least they still have some of the traditional British stuff as well.

I do know there is and English Pub/Inn in St Louis called the Cheshire Lodge/Inn. Talk about a traditional looking atmospher lol......it makes you think you are walking straight into a Pub in England. They do have guestrooms as well.........and OH MY GAWD check out their Fantasy Rooms LOL. Those are something else as well..........very expensive (well to me it is anyway lol) and you have to book months ahead of time in order to get a Fantasy Room.

I havent come across anyone who has very visited there for Lodging or the Foxs and Hounds Pub. Looks like they have some English menu; however,

Fish N Chips unfortunately is not one of them LOL.....or I would have already been there in a heart beat....lol

Anyway, check out their website and those Fantasy Rooms.......maybe book yourself a lovely sexy getaway.........hehehe...... :P

He was jumping up and down in excitement as he was reading their menu LOL.

Shoot Im just getting excited at the mere thought of having some good ole English style Fish n Chips LOL......

My husband works crazy hours......2 on 2 off type of thing......so Ill have to see when his nex weekend is and make the trip to Chicago.

Its a straight shot for us from Interstate 57...........hehehe....... :hehe:

Thanks so much for the link and for the suggestion.........and everyone else............yippee...........Fish n Chips.........:dance::dance::thumbs::dance::dance:

    Sharri & Neil

Will have to check out Elephant & Castle web site as well.......maybe eat 2 days worth of Fish n Chips LOL......

  11. Ohhhh my gosh!! I recognize some of your names LOL...........it's great to see and speak to all again........ :P

Actually, I am closer to St Louis MO. I only live about 70 miles southeast of there. Chicago would be about a 5 hour drive for us.......but hey.....if we find some really good fish n chips then it would be worth the drive!! :P

Hey Frances.........what is the name of the place you were talking about.........perhaps we can check it out as well.......looks like we may be heading up to Chicago on a weekend and go to Elephant & Castle's..........sounds like the place to be.

I was talking to one of my British friends last nigh on yahoo and can you believe he said to me.......guess what I had for dinner last night? I said what?

His reply: Fish n Chips........mmmmm mmmmm.......lol. I was like you cheeky little &*$# LOL.....

Then he sent me this pic:

Ohhhhh it made my mouth water horribly LOL.

Thanks for replying everyone......Ill definitly have to drive to Chicago for some Fish N Chips if I cannot find any around St Louis LOL....

  12. Well......its been a long time since we last logged on here......but now we are removing conditions and felt the need to come onto Visa Journey to make sure we were doing what we should be.

Its been as equally long since we were last in England....... :(

Really missing some good ole English Fish N Chips.........(by the way....Im the USC....lol) not sure hubby is bothered so much about it and he is the one from England lol.

Oh well.......We live in southern Illinois and I am willing to travel for some English Fish N Chips.

Anyone who is neighboring the state of Illinois that knows any good places to get some Fish N Chips......I would greatly appreciate the name of the place if at all possible......lol :P

    Thanks ahead of time

    Sharri

  13. Wow.....we havent been on here in ages it seems!!

I remember you two filing about the same time as Neil & I did......so I figured you two would be on here asking questions or posting about removing conditions, etc.

I wouldnt suggest waiting too long before filing to have the conditions lifted.....in fact.....on this web site on the processing times.........Nebraska Service Center is processing Jan 2007 petitions..... :o:huh: That means they are running approximately 10 months behind on the I-751 if I read it correctly.

Think of it this way......if you have to borrow money to do the petition......you'll probably have the loan paid off before you get your paperwork even looked at.......LOL.......

We sent off all of our stuff today........October 31st...... :luv: so looks like it will be awhile before we hear anything or before they get to our paperwork.....sighs........ahhhhh to be caught up in the system yet again.......:P

How are you two doing anyway........its been probably over a year since we last spoke......I think Craig was having some problems adjusting to America....hows it going now?? Just curious.

    Take care

  14. Hi its been awhile since I last visited Visa Journey.......we've been members for some time now but after getting married and going through a fairly easy process during the K-1.......then a horrific AOS process.....everything just seems fast forwarded from that point.

Here we are approaching our 2nd anniversary to our marriage and Im alittle confused on what exactly we need to be doing to have the conditions removed from my husband. Normally we stay on top of anything to do with the INS but since we had soooo much problems with the service centers losing all my husbands orginial paperwork.......we kindof filed dealing with the INS away in a file with all the paperwork we have just to avoid it LOL....guess we needed a good break from service centers after the bad experience during our AOS.

Anyway......can anyone please explain in "simple terms" lol exactly when you are supposed to be filing to have your conditions removed. Ive heard several things.......just before your 90 wedding anniversary date or 90 days before your date of conditional status.

My husbands green card does not expire until Jan 2008 and our wedding anniversary is coming up soon so Im alittle confused with all these dates floating around my head.

Can anyone clear me up a bit or kindof guide me in the right condition so I can get on the ball.....

    Thanks in advance

    Sharri & Neil
