  1. My wife applied for the police cert through the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)..it took her a few days. She had to pay a small fee for it. She lives in Canada still. And apparently the OPP Said they will have that document on file for a year..then it expires. (I am just going off what they told she and I at the office)

    *EDIT*

They asked if this was for Immigration to the USA, and then did it for us.

I sent my application Feb. 3 this year...i sent them email and its not on their system yet..i hope they will release faster for i dont have any criminal conviction....

  2. I'm a little ignorant to the police certificate. I'm also Canadian and am wondering where you got the information from for your police certificate.

Myabe you can get it faster....i am applying mine overseas for i was just working in toronto for 1 year...i contacted the RCMP and thats what they said the processing takes 120 days i didnt expect that long if i just known i aplly it earlier but scared for its expired in 3 months and dont know how the NVC goes.
  3. Hi Guys,

I have a question before getting police certificate...do i have to get 3 police certificate for i live in 3 diffirent cities in one country....and also in DS 230 in question number 2 i am still using my maiden name but it says give maiden name if you are married do i have to write my maiden name in there? its confusing.....for i know most CR1 visa applicants are using their maiden name and change it when they enter to US....is any advice out there....thanks!!!

  4. Just have this question do i need to put how much money in the bank and need a proof...how about if the applicant dont have savings and have a nice job and a nice salary but its just enough for everything....is he still need a co-sponsor.....well im just being nosey and confused about this matter....

    Hi,

If you meet the 125% poverty line. you dont need to put how much many you have in the bank.. and you wont need a co-sponsor too...

you just need to present them:

    1. recent year of your ITR with W2

    2. your previous three years ITR with W2 (optional)

    3. employment letter (see sample format here in VJ

    4. 6 months recent pay stub.

you can use I-864EZ instead of I-864 if you are just petitioning your wife. But if she has kids/dependents, you need to use the I-864.

    hope this helps.

    Thanks.

i have my irs transcript i took june this year do i need to get a latest one or those are still ok.

  6. I like the title of this thread. My wife has interview next month and this week we found out that we need to file I-130 for my step son. He is 7 years old. I'm going to send his I-130 this monday. Please let me know how much time it will take him for get approved from NVC. Is it possible for him to be approved and have interview with his mother next month?

Is there a way to link his I-130 with my wife's approved I-130?

My wife is not happy for missing his I-130 even though I had a lawyer too. We were going for K3 and then end up going for I-130 when it was approved quicker.

    Thanks in advance

Do we need to pay $400 each for the I-864?...is anybody know..thanks!

  7. Hey Guys,

I know i am not the only one who is filing for CR-1 and CR-2 i got 2 stepchildren, most members only talked about CR-1 i think this is the time to those who got experienced in filing CR-2 will give some ideas to those who are new filers....let say...we can also get RFE if we missed something for CR-2. Is anyone here filing their stepchild/stepchildren together with the mom. Come and join to this thread...

I did. Follow the I-130 instructions for documents to submit for step-children and you won't miss anything. Key easy issues is no G325a but do need step-children's birth certificates and your marriage certificate in each child's I-130 filing.

Yes you are right....but im talking about the NVC processing there are some points that makes me confused like the payment of DS-3032 wich you can just pay the principal beneficiary and it carried the stepchildren.

  9. In the vast vast majority of cases the subject never comes up, nothing you mentions suggest otherwise.

If she has any concerns have a one off consultation with an immigration lawyer.

Unfortunately there are many posters on this site who do not have a clue.

Tell your friend to go back home before her I-94 expired and file a CR-1 visa....tell her to gather all the papers needed for Cr-1 let her husband send it immigration while she is on her own country and wait for approval then less worries about her status....i advice this for we got the same problem..my wife came here as a tourist visa...we worried so much about the AOS...i let her go back to her country before her I-94 expired thats because i dont want to take the risk....i got an approval of her CR-1 a week ago we got an approval just for 2 months waiting.....even though my wife didnt came here for the intention to get married....i rather not to take the risk for if she got denied there's no way to re-apply. Just follow the rules about the visa is more easier way than worrying what gonna be happend next. I am so thankful of this site and to all those advising me before for what to do....
