There are plenty of numbers there, including in the immigrant visa section. It does not have to be "mine02 please call this number"
From my experience (different consulate, but still), you can contact pretty much any number or e-mail and they will forward you where you need to go. I have done it several times in the past. -
IIRC, USCs do not have to prove they have sufficient income for their minor child to immigrate.
What does the interview letter say? They usually have a list of the stuff they want you to bring to the interview. Although, in my experience, these lists may be inaccurate. I personally would bring all I have:) But you can contact the Consulate and make sure.

no updates at all for my mom.
Did you try to contact them? A friend of mine did not get any updates for almost two months. She called the consulate and got her visa the next day.

I have never seen a "ready" status either with my mom's case or with my dad's. Only "AP". Also never so many updates. My dad's case was put in AP the day of the interview, and then updated on July 16 when they requested more paperwork. That's it. I am assuming they have not yet looked at the document tthey received on August 5.

Hi everybody! Just want to ask you guys about my moms visa application.
My moms timeline is:
July 2, 2015- Interview at US Embassy Manila, Administrative processing because we didn't meet the poverty guidelines. They asked for qualified joint sponsor.
July 10, 2015-Submitted the required documents to 2go.
July 15, 2015-Documents received by the USEM
July 16, 2015-Updated at CEAC (Still AP)
July 21, 2015-Updated at CEAC (Still AP)
And until now I don't have any updates on my moms case. Which is frustrating.
Is this normal? Please HELP!
Its been 12 days and no update in ceac website.
In my father's case there was no updates for 10-12 days and then they requested more papers.
The original reason for 221g was that the NVC never forwarded the joint sponsor's documents to the consulate, so I had to obtain them all over again and then mail via USPS.

So how long did it take in your case from the time the Consulate received the papers to visa issued? My father's documents were received at the Consulate today.

Today the Consulate called my dad in Russia and requested more paperwork. Unfortunately, they want the original that even I do not have at the moment. So I have to obtain it form the joint sponsor and then somehow have it delivered to the Consulate in Moscow. I'm hoping to be able to mail it directly. I cannot have it delivered to my dad, because no express delivery company delivers where he lives, and regular postal service is bound to lose it.
So we are looking at probably at least another month before my dad can get his visa in hand.
This confusion and delay is not caused by me or my father failing to provide the necessary paperwork. It was all sent to NVC in time (twice, for that matter). Then NVC failed to transfer the sponsor documents to the Consulate.

Hello fellow VJ members. I didno mean to hijack this thread i just have a quick question.
I filled out I130 and sent it June 30 for my mom. (USCIS Received it JULY6 and said they forwarded it to Nebraska Center)
On part C - info about petitioner's relative - list spouse and all children >> i did not put my father's name and mine.
I dont know what will happen? Are they gonna return it?

Unfortunately, they have a right to deny your application if the form is incomplete. Call USCIS ASAP to correct that.

I'm a US Citizen and I'm still in process of getting both parents IR5 visa. I just have one quick question.
I'm thinking of traveling to see parents AFTER their visa is approved and plan on coming back to the US with them. Is it ok to do so?
Sure. Why not? Just remember that their visa is only valid for 6 months after the date of their medical exam.

I figured I'd share my dad's interview experience in case someone's parent finds themselves in a similar situation.
My dad has a history of criminal prosecution. I cannot present all the details here. Let me just say it was local government bureaucracy related and nobody got harmed or could possibly get harmed. He was not guilty and was never arrested or convicted, and the case was dismissed. All these facts are clearly stated in his background check report, which was sent to NVC and then forwarded to the Consulate.
And yet the first thing he heard as he walked into his visa interview was: "You are banned from entering the US based on your criminal background." I am not sure whether the officer was incompetent or they did it on purpose to knock my dad off his balance (I normally tend to not assume that government officials are unintelligent). It took another officer and my dad telling them most of his story and pointing out the appropriate line in the police report to prove that he is not a convicted criminal and can enter the US just fine.
Remember that the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" does not apply in a citizen vs.government case. They will always assume that you are guilty and demand that you prove your innocence to them. And the first step is not to let them intimidate you, which can be easy in a situation with a middle-aged or older parent dealing with a foreign government and officials that do not always speak or understand the parent's language very well.

With that income you do not need a joint sponsor.
Fortunately, the consulate said I can e-mail them the documents. I guess what happened was NVC lost the first set and never forwarded the second one to the consulate.

My dad did not get his visa today. I have not seen the letter yet, but he says they said our family income was not sufficient. They want me to prove I have enough income or find a joint sponsor.
The hilarious thing is I did find a joint sponsor a long time ago. I sent all her papers to NVC. Then I sent them again when NVC sent me an RFE claiming the income was insufficient. And my dad had all the copies of the joint sponsor's paperwork with him at the interview.
The joint sponsor's income is twice as much as is required for a household of seven (my family), and she only has three in hers.
I can send them all her papers for the fourth time, of course. But how do I know they will not ignore those yet again without explanation?

My dad passed his medical exam on the 10th of June.
Now on to the interview.
Hopefully there will be no paperwork issues this time around. My mom lost over two months last year because of incorrect Police certificate. She only found out about the mistakes in it at the interview.

There is no rhyme or reason in what center you case goes to. California actually is a good one, faster than most.

LPRs can't petition for parents, and there are no in-law options. You will have to wait until your wife becomes a USC.
