  1. Hi everyone, I have question. when you guys send all your documents (AOS & IV Packages). Did you guys just put it in one manila envelope or 2 envelope 1 is for AOS and 1 is for IV Package? and what is the better way? Thanks in advance! :)

It used not to make any difference, and I used to send two separate packages as soon as I had them ready. Now you have to send them both together and use one cover letter they sent you to go with it.

  2. Could someone clarify this for me. I have never dealt with two incomes in the family before for sponsor purposes.

If the joint sponsor has two incomes in the family (he and spouse) and they file a joint return, is the spouse required to fill out I-854a as a household member? Or does the income from joint tax return count as individual? The second income does not influence the required amount much and doesn't have to be used at all, exept it is included in the adjusted gross on the tax return. If not used on the I-864, the amounts (adjusted gross and individual income) will be different.

I got all the papers from the joint sponsor and need to know ASAP if I-864a from his spouse is required.

    Thanks!

  3. Now the procedure is changed after 31 Aug and ELIS accounts are no more required.I paid fee on 22nd of Aug ie later than you but can still log in. Payment receipt# is available in case summary.

Did you try to check status by entering payment receipt number?

It says that if the fee was paid before Aug. 31, you can no longer access the account. So no, I cannot log in into my account. It sends me straight to USCIS main page.

The only payment receipt number I have is from pay.gov. It does not work on USCIS site.

  4. What receipt# did you enter to check your status at USCIS? It sounds like you entered the old ie i 130 receipt number. you need to enter the receipt number provided in the ELIS account. My father also entered on 3rd Sep. and his status at USCIS initially showed that card is being produced and now it shows that card is mailed, it is not yet received though. Case status at ELIS account remained stuck at "optimized" but now it is "closed".

I don't think I have a number provided by ELIS. I have the receipt number for the fee payment, but that is from pay.gov.

I paid the fee and did not go back to the ELIS page until the first week of September, and that's when it said I could not log in into my account anymore. So I can't get into the account and I do not have the number. How did you get the number?

  5. Does anybody know how to track the GC production now? ELIS sends you to USCIS Case Status, but the only thing that does is show the year-old info when the case was sent to NVC, if you track by USCIS case number.

I paid the ELIS fee on August 18 and my father entered the US on September 3. Still no GC. I know it's not out of the 45 day time frame yet, but it certainly would be nice to be able to know what's going on.

  6. HI guys, I-130 for my wife was approved on 09/21/2015 from Vermont Service Center after a year of waiting, My PD is September 8, 2014...What is the next step then???

The case will go to NVC. You will receive a welcome letter from NVC with a cover sheet for the documents, case number, and invoice number, as well as instructions. Took 2 months for us, but may differ.

  7. Hi guys

    I have quick question

I petition my mom on april 9 2015 after long wait they just transfer her case to local office ( i checked her statueonline) didnt ask me for anything yet

My question im supposed to traver out of tge country for amonth

what happend if i dont send them the required papers until i am back ???

Yould they cancel my case ???

Required papers by NVC? They give you a year to send your papers. If you get an RFE from USCIS, they usually give you at least a month to respond, normally more like 2 or 3, if it involves getting foreign paperwork.

  8. . If she cant call them then you probably really have to just wait for the welcome letter. Or you can try to write them a letter. NOA 2 got approved feb. Received welcome letter july 17. She will receive it email if you guys are receiving instructions thru email. I agree with you the mailed intructions you will receive after few months in other country. Husband got his 4 months after the date when it was sent by nvc. When is your PD?

    PD is September 15, 2014.

Ok, then about 5 months from NOA 2 to welcome letter? No hurry, I suppose... It would be December for us.

  9. With mine it 3wks . Once your mother receives her welcome letter from NVC she can assign you as the agent Your mother has to call them thats the only way.I Think. If NOA2 is recieved keep on calling NVC to check for the CAse and invoice#.

My mother cannot call them. She does not speak English.

When does the welcome letter come? It will come to her home address in the US, right? I have never received anything from NVC by regular mail before, only e-mail. My parents received some paperwork from NVC in their home country, but that took months.

  10. So how long after the case is sent to NVC before a case number is assigned? The NOA said a month, as usual. I was thinking about calling NVC soon, but here's the potential problem.

Clearly I am the person who does all the paperwork and deals with the whole process for my brother. My mom cannot use the computer and does not know any English aside from some simple words and phrases. I will be my brother's agent once that form is available. Until then, though, will NVC give me the case and invoice numbers over the phone if I'm neither the beneficiary nor the petitioner, nor the offical agent? In the past, when my husband filed for our children, USCIS refused to talk to me because I was not part of the deal, so to speak. It did not matter to them that I was the mother, because I was neither the petitioner, nor the beneficiary. If NVC does not give me my brother's case information, I'm afraid it will be a while before I can do anything with his case, because if they try to communicate with him (as it says in the letter) or with our mother, they will get nothing. If they mail something to my brother's address outside the US, it wll most likely get lost or take months to arrive.

So have anyone tried to contact NVC on behalf of their petitioning parents? How did it go?
