I sincerely don't get why the spousal visa holders are so hurt about K-1 being processed IN THESE CURRENT TIMES with the same urgency as the spousal visas. For the purposes of the immigration process, K-1s should be lumped together with CR-1/IR-1. Period.

As far as I'm concerned the petition has served its purpose - it has people talking about the fact that the K1 visa is not addressed in the travel ban and some agree it should be exempt. Be pedantic about it and don't sign it, what ever.

Lol that's WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO!!!!! Fortunately the US DOES have a fiance visa and for some people it is the only reasonable option to get married.

The petition makes a false statement about US government policy......they could have simply done what you just stated......

Hmm, I beg to differ. Australia has a partner visa. It does not require you to get married within 90 days.

Of course, that’s the request they have pointed out. And the ultimate goal. Stating that a fiancé can be considered “immediate family” is confirmed to prove that they are considered that way in the DS, and as such could be exempt. I would want to remind you of the fact that the DS is an official form, released by the government indeed.

If you want to be Immediate Family then the option is to get married.  Very few countries have a Fiance Visa.

I'm also still waiting on the case number. I've noticed some people get it quickly, others closer to the 6-week mark... But it is coming!! ❤️

K-1 packet mailed on 11/27, got to Texas on 11/30, but may be picked up/signed for today, 12/2. So I guess that makes me a December filer! 😁 Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and hoping for a speedy approval for all!

I mean why prepare for it when it could be a month from now, or a year from now. It's not like you are preparing to pass the bar exam. The beneficiary will be asked questions that should be natural to asnwer. Easy.

I expect this to be clarified in the FAM (or at least memos from DOS to the COs) before the consulates reopen. It won't be piecemeal where one CO or consulate treats it one way and another a different way.
I think the OP just got a response from somebody who wasn't sure and winged it. It didn't even quote a section of the INA or EO.
    Time will tell.

Here is the problem as I see it. Someone who answered the email is not fully vetted in the EO. Their answer is not coming from the EO but someone who has not interrupted the EO. So, you can populate any part of the EO but if the embassy states this is the way it will be then this is the way it will be.

It seems clear, to me, that K-1 visas are not affected by the latest EO.  It is a non-immigrant visa.  Be aware that CBP at POE has final say regarding any non-citizen's entry into the US.....not any consulate.

After patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) waiting, here we are, 149 days later, and we FINALLY see that our NOA 2 is Approved!!!
    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We discussed yesterday that we were going to stop checking-in every day to see what was happening with our case because it broke our hearts each time we didn't see any movement. I guess we just needed a shift of energy and the USCIS felt the change and I was woken up abruptly by a notification sound I hadn't heart before (the case tracker). Since I was still groggy, I went to the USCIS website and refreshed about a million times just to make sure it wasn't a dream! 😍

Now we just need this virus to pass so we can get on with our happily ever after! 👩‍❤️‍👨#StayHomeSoWeCanGetMarried

    NOA 2 - April 29, 2020
