  1. If you have any other kind of photo-identification like a driver's license or a state id then you do not need to show your passport at the airport.

Also if you do have to show your passport (in case you do not have any other government issued ID) at the airport, they are only interested in you picture-id not your visa. Once you are inside US travelling domestic does not require you to confirm to any visa (expired/current). There would not be any problems, just show them your passport and they (only the security check people at the airport) are only interested in your picture ID.

  2. Congratulations Richa!! for the interview letters for your parents.

thank you rahul. but i am worried about documents and question in the interview? because over here everybody have spose based interview so curious what they can ask to parents?

What documents did the interview letter states to bring. I would take all the documents that you sent with the application in original and copies. About the questions try the forum

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=111

and search for interview parents keywords, you should find some information.

    Good luck.

Good news!! After 6 days of waiting after our "no decision" interview, it was APPROVED today

I received an email from USCIS which says that "Card production ordered"

Thanks and good luck to all (L)

  3. If you have not been able to reschedule your interview then you must GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW. There you can explain why your husband is not with you. If you have any documentation that shows why he is travelling that would help to, may be you can get a fax from your husband or his employer saying he is supposed to be in Alaska (if you can arrange that).

Also take all the documentation with you which you would have taken anyways to the interview just in case they need some documentation from you then your file would be up to date and complete and only interview would be left.

I am sure that IO at your local office would be able to reschedule your interview. Good luck!

  4. Here is what would happen in this case two scenarios

    1. You would get an RFE, send the papers with the RFE done deal.

    2. You would not get an RFE, when you would get your interview letter, it would state that bring in 693 form / vaccination records with you at the time of the interview if you have not sent it earlier with your application.

So in any case if you have your 693 sealed packet keep it safe. Keep the vaccination records safe as well.

  5. I would agree with Nik+Heather and add that she should come after her business in April in Moscow is over. There are too many tight situations here and you would need a relaxed and composed mind to file a good AOS application instead of a hurried one and it's a process which requires a sufficient amount of time with relaxed frame of mind. Also each case becomes different from time to time and finding solutions take time as well. Missing information, RFE's could delay the process even further.

It took us about 4 - 6 weeks to gather information, mostly understand the forms and the information pertaining to our case. It takes time to get marriage licence, then marriage certificate etc.

Read the AOS guide on VJ and see what it would take to file that application. She may/may not get an AP before April. And she should not leave the country before AP is issued.

  6. Also to add on let him know this as well...

    1. Pass through Immigration (ALONE) whether its JFK or anywhere else.

    2. Pass through Customs (ALONE)

only thing that you could help him with would be

    1. Either pick him up at JFK and drive back home. (expensive and painful driving)

    2. Fly to JFK, Pick him up at JFK, help check-in domestic and fly back home. (more expensive a little bit less painful)

    or the best...

    3. Pick him up at domestic airport. (not expensive, not painful)

Choice is yours actually his lol.

  7. how about Charlotte airport via Frankfurt on US Airways from Delhi. If that is closer for you to drive.

Otherwise you would have to drive/fly. If you are driving then he can get a direct flight to JFK.

  8. For all purposes you require certified copy of the marriage certificate. Since you just sent your papers in your file does not even have a case no. yet. If they send you NOA1 then you can send them the certified copy with the copy of your NOA1 receipt. If they send you an RFE before NOA1 then you can send your certificate copy.

I am not sure if you can send it right now but may be put your name, address etc, write a cover letter and mark on top of envelope copy of marriage certificate for AOS of XXX. But this is only how I am thinking, some more experienced Vjers might have seen somebody experience a similar case.

  9. Congrats on the recent approvals and good luck on upcoming interviews!

BigBubble, congrats on recieving the interview letter!

I'm so nervous about mine which is in a week! Guys who recieved the interview notice, what do you think they mean by "bring copies of supporting documents that you submitted with your application"? What is "supporting documents" exactly? Do they mean "supporting documents of bonafides of marriage"(included with I-130) or just ALL the documents submitted in general(EVERYTHING submitted in AOS package)?

1)Like,with I-864 we submitted copies of 7 month's worth of paystubs (which is 14 pages) of our joint sponsor, are we supposed to bring these 14 pages again including the additional 2 revent months' paystubs??

2)And copies of all W2s and tax returns too?

3)We also submitted our actual bank statement (original, not a copy), does it mean we need to print out a copy of it for the interview?

    4) Utility bill to show that household member's address matches ours, needs to be printed again?

    5) And a copy of I-94 and passport pages?

I just don't want to carry too much unneccesary stuff to the interview and then spend a bunch of time going through tons of prints and documents when looking for something. Let me know copies of what papers you are going to bring to your interview, and any input on this is appriciated!

We took a big folder box with separate files for each set of documents. In my case they asked for some documents that I thought may not be needed. Organize your documents and take everything, just in case. Good luck to you for the interview.

  10. Sorry for not updating yesterday, and you all would be glad that I didn't . We went to the interview and interview was friendly and most of the times it looked like she would approve us. She however said that you guys are done, returned my EAD and said that she has what she needs from us and would let us know the decision in 60 days.

Now today morning I get this SMS/email from USCIS, I go to check the status and AOS says they have ordered the card production.

    Bottom line: Approved.
