hey chill im hispanic too and i dont see or have even ever spoken to a Cuban girl (maybe even seen one) so i wouldn't know. Here in Ny it's usually the Colombians or puerto rican girls that would say a statement like that, oh Dominicans too, it was funny and very random i almost spilled my coffee when i read it... LOL

I told Oksana the same thing. Most of her clothes are going to be worthless in Florida. I told her to pack only the light clothes. We'll nuy new stuff when she gets here. Siberian weather and Florida weather are so different that 90% of her wardrobe is too heavy.

You all should consider using those "space bags". When I go to bring my SO back here, I am taking a bunch of those. They are those space saving plastic bags that you suck the air out to compress the size. We'll be able to bring almost all her clothes back this way much easier.

I use the backpacker/traveler equivalent of these - compression stuff sacks. They weigh only a few ounces and you put clothes etc in them, and then pull the straps (basically one on each "corner") and it squeezes the stuff inside down to about half the size (thought the weight is the same. Space Bags weigh more, and if you put a hole in them, they are useless.

As for packing and flying here, Jenny already said she plans on one bag and a carry-on (I just love that she is so practical!). I will also likely fly with a suitcase with only a little space used - enough for a few pairs of shorts, underwear, and shirts which she can fill too. My other bag will be my diving gear which I usually smuggle on as "carry on". If we need to get more stuff here, we will send a big box or 2 via mail. And don't forget, trying to bring all the lotions, shampoos, etc makes little sense. Bring enough for a few days (travel size) and go shopping here to get that stuff (or like me, buy some for her and have it waiting for her).

ANOTHER THING!!...MY GIRL ISNT SURE ABOUT BRINGING HER FAVORITE DOG...I TOLD HER ITS UP TO HER WHATEVER SHE WANTS TO DO, SHE LOVES THAT DOG SO I UNDERSTAND HER, SO FAR SHE ISNT SURE YET BECAUSE SHE'S SCARED IT MIGHT AFFECT HER, PLUS THE CHANGE OF ENVIRONMENT, OVER THERE THE DOG LIVES IN A BIGGER PLACE AND ITS MORE FREE...COMPARED TO NY THAT HERE IT'LL BE IN AN APARTMENT PLUS THE COLD WINTER WEATHER....IT'S A SCHNAUZER SO ITS A SMALL DOG, SO SHE MIGHT BE RIGHT.

If your girl decides to bring her dog, she needs to be prepared to leave the dog in animal quarantine when she enters. This will possibly for a number of months...

Look into the details well ahead of time to arrange shots, etc that can keep this to a minimum.

i read that would happen if the rabies vaccine was administered i think when it's less than a month? if its just over 30 days then the dog is good to go... but i would really recommend her a vet that knows about taking dogs into trips and make sure he gets her ready for clearance, but again...my girl could change her mind and just leave her dog behind...her family loves the dog alot too and they want her to leave her, so she's confused at the moment, that's why i told her its up to her. Yeah her mom lives on Long Island so we will visit there often, but my family lives in S. Florida and we will probably alternate holidays. I am trying to convince her that New York is best in the summer. We'll see how that goes over.

I live in Fort Lauderdale, about 3 hours away from Orlando and my best friend is from Lithuania. She speaks Russian and so if your gal needs someone to talk to I'm sure Vilma would be happy to talk to her. And that is great that her mom is also in USA.....

that would be awesome. I have been preparing her for the first few weeks she is here. They are going to be difficult for her, because her only friends will be my friends. Which is fine, but we all generally work the same schedule so she won't have very many people to talk to or hang our with while I am at work. So anyways when she can make new friends is cool with me. Her mom is the best she flew into Russia the last time I was there just so we could spend Christmas together as a family.

My girl has already acquainted with my friends here through facebook. Most people here wanna meet her already and also hang out with her...well both of us, it's like she's the one missing in our group because she gets along with everyone. they save you space and a little of air weight, but the luggage will still weight as if you were not using them. i have used them in my last couple of trips and like i said...they dont really save you weight, just space. They do come in handy though!

Hey guys i have a question i hope someone answer it... DO I HAVE TO PAY $400 in the interview for when my fiancee receives her visa? cuz i read a line that said:

deberá pagar este costo en la fecha de la cita." so this mean that i gotta pay that when she's granted the visa OR this was already paid when i filed the K1 and i sent my check for $455?

hey everyone thanks, so i'm doing what's being told here, you're all great now....the other wait for the package from nevada to get to lima y after that have the interview set up..... I'm going to the interview, so far i'm predicting is very close to my vacations time from work so i'm just waiting to know the date of the interview in the lima embassy and after that ask for my vacations and get my ticket and off i go! any more suggestions?
