Just like what the first responder mentioned, every case is unique and having that age gap maybe or may not be an issue. Gather evidence as much as you can, this is the only way you can prove that your relationship is real and good luck with the interview.

I processed all my paperwork back in Saudi Arabia as well, it's much easier than in my home country. Have him talk to his company if he can do that, I used our company PO Box back in Dammam and it was okay with my boss.

You have provided too much proof, by doing this, the consul would definitely have a suspicion. Try next time and be a little subtle, besides the embassy already knows everything about you even before the interview. My cousin and her friend applied for a tourist visa back in the 90's and her friend only shows that she works at the bank and with a little savings and she got approved, on the other hand, my cousin showed everything she has and yet she got denied.
Sometimes, it's also all about luck to get interviewed by a consul who happened to start his or day with a good cup of coffee .

That's a red flag, but you can try.

How about the envelope containing all your paperwork that you are not allowed to open? What is your POE?

Congratulations! and that was really fast!

Hi Guys,
Does anyone applied citizenship with an expired passport? I just got a yellow mail from USCIS yesterday, it stated that USCIS recommends me to bring all passports and travel documents(including expired and current) issued by any government. I don't have a current passport right now it was expired March 09,2014. Pls. help ... Thank you in advance.Brin
Bring it even if it's expired, chances are they won't ask for it. I got the yellow paper as well but the officer did not ask for anything that I brought indicated on that paper.
Good luck!

Hi guys, i need some kind on enlightenment. My 5th yr anniversary is August 10. Can I submit the application now? What are the requirements because i got married last year in the Philippines and my wife and child are still there, waiting for my citizenship the file petition for them. I have the following:
Green card
W2's
Id
Marriage contract
When will i pay the form? Is it during the application? How do i pay for it? How much they charge? - It's $680 check or money order, write down your case number behind the check. You'll have to send together with the application and the rest of the documents. Good luck!

Hi
Please answer this question only if you truly understand my situation and are aware of all the rules and regulations regarding this.
Background: I was born as an Indian citizen and moved to Canada 8 years ago, became a Permanent REsident of Canada and am now a Canadian Citizen (last month). India does not allow dual citizenship, but lets u get a OCI card (Overseas Citizen of India) which is somewhat like a lifelong visa but not citizenship. Therefore I got OCI on my Canadian Passport. I also have US Green Card, which I got through my wife, who is a citizen of US (CR-1 Visa). I have the GC which is valid for 2 years and will need to remove conditions soon. I live and work in the United states and changed my Citizenship while on the 2 year CR1 Green Card. - Are you talking about the Canadian citizenship here?
Question 1 : Would I have any problems applying for removal of conditions on my Green Card ? I do have a lot of evidence of bonafide marraige as I live in the US now and file taxes and have tonnes of paperwork (like lease, car insurance, health coverage etc) .. You should be fine, unless you submitting false evidences
Question 2: Once I get my ROC done and get a 10 year GC, WIll I be able to naturalize for US CItizenship after 3 years (since I first became a GC Holder). would me already having a Canadian citizenship affect my case ? Yes, you can file after 3 years and for the second question, I think it won't affect since you are giving up your Canadian citizenship or becomes a dual citizenship if Canada allows it.
Thanks in advance!

What are the current processing times (average) for the whole process from the time the N-400 is received to the Oath Ceremony?
I would say 5 months, but still, it depends.

THANK YOU!!!

If you got your GC thru marriage to a US citizen, i would check the PERMANENT RESIDENT AND SPOUSE OF A US CITIZEN

How' s everyone doing! Just had my interview last June 4th and it was smooth sailing, the officer was straight to the point, interview took less that 30 minutes. Now, just waiting for my Oath taking appointment. Good luck to everyone who already got the schedule for interview.

I just feel bad for the people who are filing with Vermont, it seems like there's no progress at all.
-
Congratulations!!

Mostly, it's case to case basis and no one can predict . I was CR-1 back then and it took for 6 months before the interview.

She should go to the immigrant section

CR-1 or K-1 is okay, I suggest try K-1 for it's a bet faster (depend on your case though) compare to CR-1. Both should be filed by you in the US except if you've been living to Costa Rica for a period of time where you can file the petition at the US embassy but I don't thin k you do. You're wife can have a dual citizenship if she desires too and if Costa Rica allows it according to their immigration law but you, as US citizen you can't have a Costa Rican citizenship.

No worries, most of your paperworks are already at the embassy during the interview and it has been scrutinized, just bring some copies of those documents just in case.
Bring photos that tell the story of your relationship, having family members on the pictures from both side is a plus. Proof of communication such as letters, cards and so on.
Good luck on your interview!!
-
Your presence is not necessary during the interview, I am from the Philippines but I was in the Middle East during the whole process and my wife cannot travel to that country.
Biometrics will be done in the US embassy on the day of his interview. Good luck!!

Once you obtain your CR1 visa you are allowed to travel in certain period of time this will not affect your status. However consult your lawyer fro some professional advice.

There are some other documents you can provide, rent or mortgage is just one of them. Open an account with Wells Fargo, you can have a joint checking account.
How about wireless phone bills? car insurance or car registration?
