Thanks, Bern. It's good to know that I'm not the only one. When did you receive your welcome letter? I called USCIS earlier today. They told me 'Card production has not been ordered' -- and that there's a possibility that the airport has not sent them the packages yet. I know it's not a big deal but it's just frustrating. I just want to be DONE.

    3. Bern.

      Bern.

I got my first welcome letter on April 27, then again on May 7th. I wouldn't worry so much yet, they say give it a max 3 months, even though people tend to get them after a month.

Ok, thanks...I'll give another 2 weeks and then see what's going on again.

  3. Yeah, they said to wait another two weeks and then make an INFOPASS. Gawd, this is so frustrating.

  4. I called USCIS today. They said that card production has definitely not been ordered. I feel like an INFOPass coming on.

  5. Day # 32 since POE. Nothing in the mail yet

Hang in there... One of my friend's wife was told to wait for 2-3 months.

Yeah, I'll probably call after another two weeks.

I called again. They told me 'Card production has not been ordered' -- and that there's a possibility that the airport has not sent them the packages yet.

  6. Hey, nope. Nothing yet. Just the usual run-around. At least, I have an existing SSN so I was able to get a job.

  7. It's going well. I just got hired as a customer rep in a retail store so that's a plus! Need to get out of the house!

  8. When did your husband receive his 'Welcome Letter?'

  9. To those who POE'd in end May--anyone received their Welcome Letter or GC yet?

Well my wife received her 10 yr GC today, which marks 21 days after POE and we've got everything we need.

We got our CR1 GC today too, expiring 2 years from the date of POE.

Well, that's great news. I got nothing yet. No welcome letter, no SS card (thankfully, I had a SSN on a previous visa) and no sign of the GC. Chicago CBP was of absolutely no help.

  10. You will need your SSN before you can start working as most job applications/employers need that to hire you. I still haven't received either. It's frustrating to still be waiting. Thankfully, I have a SSN at least from my prior visa so I'm waiting for the local office to send me an updated 'unrestricted' card. No sign of welcome letter or GC yet.

  11. No problem! Good luck with everything.

  12. Hey--what's up at your end? Has your fiance reached the US?

  13. Cool. Have a great summer! : )

  14. You're welcome! Good luck and keep me posted! :)

  15. Oh, no! Waiter! No news yet? ####### is up with VSC? Have you contacted your Senator/Congressman? Made an InfoPASS appointment? I'm so sorry, I hope everything works out well for you. Keep in touch.

  16. Many congratulations! Hope your interview appointment is set soon! =)

  17. Hey--how'd your interview go?

  18. Hey--how'd your interview go?

  19. Congratulations! =)

  20. What I'd do is write a letter and have him carry that that explains who he is and have your name, phone number and address on it so if there are any questions or if he does run into any trouble, he can hand that letter/email over and they can contact you. You'll presumably be in the waiting area.

  21. Oh, I'm sure he'll be fine. Don't stress about that too much. Maybe there'll be someone on his flight or a translator around. There were a couple of people on my flight who spoke absolutely no English and they asked if I could help them.

  22. I'm sure there'll be someone on his flight who can help him out if he runs into any trouble. They might ask him a question or two at POE so hopefully, he'll be able to answer them. He will have to clear immigration, collect his baggage and then have his papers processed at Customs.

  23. : ) You guys live in TX, right?

  24. I had called USCIS. They said to expect the Welcome Letter in 2-3 weeks and to call them again if it doesn't come in 30 days.

  25. Get the new copy and submit that to NVC. There shouldn't be any issue because the BC was not required with the I-130. You can attach a cover letter with your DS230 packet (which is always recommended) and explain that this is a new updated original BC.
