A not-so-fancy sleeve envelope to stick my GC into!

  4. Meh, it 'could' conceivably happen but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Mumbai's relatively pain-free.

  5. Darnell. OMG, I just read about your mom. I'm so sorry. I just wanted to pass on my condolences.

  6. It's called Administrative Review or Additional Processing (AR/AP) -- male beneficiaries from certain consulates are more likely to undergo AP than others, as a general observation.

  7. AP can be anything. Ranging from background checks/name/security clearance to home visits to ascertain the validity of the relationship. FYI--ALL applicant cases undergo AP. However, most cases get the required clearance from D.C. in 24 hours or less so we never get to hear about those cases. Others get 'flagged' in the system, for some reason or the other.

  8. Everybody's working for the weekend! =D

  9. Aw, okay! Cute. Good luck with everything! =D

  10. I'm sure everything will be fine. NVC moves a lot more quickly. USCIS is a royal PITA. Btw, I never asked, how did you guys meet?

  11. I know how frustrating it is. Hang in there, lady!

  12. Goodness! Congratulations--so happy fer you guys! Best wishes on your life together!

  13. It shouldn't be a problem. We didn't, but I know that a lot of Indians have done it. As for the AOS, you don't need it now. I always recommend 'recent forms' at the interview so have him FedEx the I864/I864A two weeks before your interview. Is your DS230 packet ready yet? I remember you were having some issues with the PCC?

  14. It shouldn't be a problem. My husband left 3 days after our wedding and we didn't have a honeymoon as such. He was unable to visit either during the nine months we were waiting. While he is in India, make sure you document that time. Take pictures, etc. You know the drill by now. You can always mention that you had a big-fat Indian wedding after the 'quickie civil ceremony' at t...

  15. I posted it in the July Interviews thread. You can also read my Chicago review.

      Sounds like a plan, Darnell!

  16. Yeah, we've been plagued at literally every step of the way, from receiving our NOA1 and now to the actual GC. I just want to be done. At least, we're now finally together again, and it's easier to deal with things together, rather than separate. Happy 4th to you too and I hope you have a smooth processing! Good luck with everything! =D

  17. All the best for your interview! =D

  18. Looking forward to fireworks, beer, pork chops and apple-sauce! Happy 4th, y'all!

SAME TO YOU, HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

  19. My card production was finally ordered on July 1.

  20. Yay, Germany! Klose

  21. Yes, my I-130 took 118 days and I was ready to slit my throat by then. He started 2-3 months ago, yes? So by the time the interview rolls around, he should have paystubs for around 6 months so it should be fine.

  22. He should have no problem during NVC. I can't say for certain for the interview because the CO views the 'totality of circumstances' and I'm not privy to your circumstances or income figures/assets etc. He/she will be. Have it ready at the time of the interview. If he's currently making over the required guidelines for the I-864 household size, NVC will not cause any problems.

  23. Yes, I am! I'm doing well. Hope you're doing fantastic as well! =D

  24. If your husband is making over PG, I wouldn't bother with the joint sponsor at NVC. He shouldn't have any issues during that stage. Have the I-864A ready to present to the CO/pre-screener if they mention it at that point.
