Hmm, I'm trying to think if we sent any original documents with the I-864. I think maybe the employment letter was original? The form itself needs to be an original, of course, signed in blue ink. Whatever it was, I got almost everything back at the interview. They kept some of my joint sponsor's documents.

No transparent folders, all of that ends up on the floor. Just a big envelope, attach papers with paper-clips. Make sure the case # is written on all the doocuments.

You will receive a 'WELCOME LETTER' from USCIS which will contain a tracking number to check the status of your GC. You will receive your GC a couple of days after the GC production has been ordered (by USCIS).

I received a total of two 'WELCOME LETTERS' -- the GC arrived 2 days after the second one. I was asked to wait for 14 days after POE before they could put in a request to update my old SSN to an unrestricted one.

Hmm, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask them where the bill is? You can email the DS3032 now, if you want. I'm not sure what the approx. dates are for NVC, I believe it is slowing down so it might be a few days before you receive anything in your inbox.

Usually, the embassy will extend the petition automatically but I would still recommend that you ask for an official extension via email. Good luck!

I turned in my documents at the Calcutta VFS. They only took certain things in their own binder. I took the rest of my evidence on interview date. I never had a chance to enter the VFS office as the bus was already ready to leave for the consulate by the time I got there.

Do NOT wait for the NVC to send you anything via mail. What I did -- compile my DS230 packet and mailed to my husband the day after we got our NOA2. He sent it to NVC once our IV bill cleared.
