DouglasFiel got a reaction from Bronuff Russs in Average time to go through customs and immigration at the U.S. POE?
I fly international all of the time... I have only had an issue once. Incoming flight was delayed... That given...
1. Minneapolis is not a major point of entry. So, number of potential international flights needing to clear customs is less.
2. They (The airlines) have minimum connection times for all airports. They can not book tickets that violate the airport
minimum connect time.
3. Lots of flights out of there... If you miss one,, easy to get another.
My two cents,,, and believe me,,, it is not worth much more.

DouglasFiel got a reaction from msgrateful in divorced in US but marriage not annuled in Philippines
Your BF does not need to get annulment in the Philippines. I was in the same situation and re-married in the PI. You have to provide divorce decrees...
But, there is no where,,, it is mentioned (as far as the Philippines Government) is concerned the previous citizenship of your ex-wife. The US government
will know from the paperwork,,, but, again the USCIS is just concerned the divorce is properly documented and that the previous marriage was not fraudulent
for the purposes of obtaining a visa.

DouglasFiel got a reaction from Brother Hesekiel in Citizenship
Assuming you are a US citizen. Your wife is able to apply for citizenship 90 days before her 3 year anniversary of arrival. Example. My wife arrive 8/24/09 applied for citizenship N400 5/25/12 and received her citizenship on 9/25/12. She applied for her US passport on 9/25/12 (using her cert of citizenship).
Side note. you do not have to apply for an N-600 for the stepson if you do not want... You can just apply for a passport for him using the Wifes Cert of citizenship papers. The US passport will
then become proof of citizenship for him... Cheaper and quicker.

DouglasFiel got a reaction from rade2rising in Establishing Credit - tips and tricks please
You do not need to carry a balance to increase your credit score. The average balance gets reported and the current balance
is reflected. I think my avg credit shows a couple of grand a month even though I have always pay off my balance in full.
The only way I might be attempted to use credit on a credit card,,, was if it was zero percent interest and I have the cash
in savings. A good example of this might be,,, student loans. If someone will lend you 10k at no interest for 3 years.
Why not replace (student load debt which is not discharageble through bankrupcy) with unsecured debt (that is).

DouglasFiel got a reaction from wusmc71 in She wants to go back Home (Philippines)
We all have issues... And hopefully, your wife is just saying things she does not mean... It is tough
taking on someone elses reality and sometimes people have a fairy-tale idea of things to come. Kinda
like our teenagers having children.
I too had custody of a small child in a previous divorce (Now grown up and on her own). Not too many
Dads get custody (that makes you a rarity and speaks volumes).
I had a friend in front of a Divorce Court Judge here in Texas. He was told "Sorry son, we don't let big boys
raise little boys here in Texas". And that was it, he lost his custody battle.
Being optimistic,,, maybe, your wife just needs some Filipina friends that can help her understand life here
in the good old USA is not the land of milk and honey for everyone. Most of us have to milk the cows (getting
kicked in the process) and harvest our own honey (getting stung in the process).
We live a bit north of Austin, Texas. It has not been easy on my wife either. Took her a mountain of studying
and test taking to get RN license and her first job (21 months after her arrival here).
I am sure my wife would be more then willing to lend a ear. Send us a PM if you wish to exchange contact info.

Mall of America is the 21st largest mall in the world... Mall of Asia is #10.

Ferdinand Magellan
Magellan's expedition of 15191522 became the first expedition to sail from the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean (then named "peaceful sea" by Magellan; the passage being made via the Strait of Magellan), and the first to cross the Pacific. It also completed the first circumnavigation of the Earth, although Magellan himself did not complete the entire voyage, being killed during the Battle of Mactan in the Philippines.
Moral of the story...
These So called natives can take care of an unwanted foreign intrusion themselves.
Regards and good luck with the chismoso.
