My prediction on VJ says my EAD should be approved this week - here's to hoping! I haven't had any touches since May 7th. I'm hoping since I'm complaining about it, i'll wake up and have an email from uscis that it was approved or at least an interview letter!
-
James did his biometrics on the 6th this month, no touches or progress since then. I am hoping they just forgot to tell us when they transferred our case
If our petition doesn't get transferred to CSC and has to go to our local office for processing will USCIS let us know? Does it usually stay in Chicago longer if it doesn't go to CSC?
James & I thought we wouldn't care about processing times for his GC since we get to be together for it, but it suuucks that he can't work. I'm definitely eager for his EAD to come.

Just throwing our names in as April filers, we filed on the 9th and received our emailed confirmation yesterday.

Gareth and Emily: visa-in-hand 12/10/09
The flight from England usually takes about 22-26 hours if you go through the east coast. However, I found a really good deal on a student travel site for a ticket through Reykjavik that will get him into Seattle in 11 hours, a 4 hour layover then just a quick 4 hr flight up to alaska! So I guess that's still 19 hours, but oh well! Unless something goes wrong, he will be coming over in mid February.

SUPERDUPER!!!
Wonder if James and Megan had success in England today?
He passed, just needs to provide the long form birth certificate!

Congratulations to all the recent approvals!
Despite our first P3 getting lost, James resent our information in last Tuesday and he called DOS today and we already have our interview! Not until November 12, but that's totally fine by us! I'm just glad to finally know.

Exactly the answer I was looking for, thanks!
-
It doesn't actually, it just states that I must fill in the forms on the website. It doesn't specificly say which ones to send in. I'm assuming all but some clarification would be nice.

I'm on packet 3 I think. I was forwarded a letter via the mail which then told me to go to the following website: http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html
I've filled every document out on that page, however I am unsure which ones I send to the embassy address. Is it all of them or certain ones? The website doesn't make its self very clear.
Thanks

James got a letter in the mail today saying that no response had been received. He called and they confirmed that the P3 we returned was lost. We're going to resubmit it Monday I think; it was originally submitted September 18th.
-
So James (beneficiary) got a letter in the mail saying nothing has been received and they will dismiss our petition if nothing is received in 60 days. So he called the embassy and they confirmed that nothing had been received and he should resubmit the IV Checklist - it was originally submitted September 18 and still hasn't shown up.
The lady on the phone also mentioned that James should submit a DS-230 part 1 or his case wouldn't progress; everywhere else i have read said to sit on your paperwork until interview time and don't send in anything but the IV Checklist. Have I just been misinformed or has everyone else sent this in?
To answer my own question, I just read more on the embassy site and apparently we're supposed to
Good thing that form got lost.

To apply for a marriage license in Alaska, both parties must have their Social Security numbers, ID, appear in person and sign after taking an oath. There is a 3 day waiting period before you can pick it up and it's only valid for 3 months. Does it usually take very long to be issued a SS number?

I wish I was in Chicago right now. The heat in Cali is insane.
I will be there in 4 days ^___^
In Chicago?
Yep, 12 hour layover!

Sorry, way too long to read before work
I will agree that there would probably be someone out there that would be offended by the mention of death at a wedding, but then again there could be people offended by eating meat at a wedding, wearing a white dress at a wedding etc. People love to find something to complaint about. If it's meaningful to the couple it should be embraced!
I don't know if polyglots tend to flock together, but since the song is in French, I don't think many people will notice

... I'm thinking of the song "Je l'aime a mourir" for our first dance. It's really more about the woman in the relationship, but it means a lot to both Lamine and I. It means "I'll love him/her until I die."
I can speak French as well a little (six years of training but that was 20+ years ago). I know that the French have no problem with death and love but FYI, other cultures will cringe to see the two mentioned together. Maybe something to think about.
Does "till death do us part" ring a bell?
I don't think it's inappropriate for a wedding!

Omg, how did I know...I called the NVC today and they said we're in "Additional processing" too....AAAAAARRRGH! %^&*^%$!!!
Maybe I shouldn't have called at all....
I feel so sick right now.....just want to cry my face off....MAKES ME SOOOO MAD........i want to but i dont want to tell anyone about this you know, especially Nigel who seems to be also quite frustrated with this stupid process...was getting all exited on the progress and now look at where we are at....seeing some stats...now we're in the same boat is our Ian and Lisa...
I'm absolutely livid.
If it makes you feel any better, literally from the moment NVC told us that they had received our case, they said we were in Additional Processing. The girl said that everyone goes through it, but she didn't really know what that meant. I get the feeling that the term "Additional Processing" is kind of just thrown around a bit. We weren't even there very long! Just over a week. I know it feels really lame to waste time being processed at NVC, but at this point try not to despair over Additional Processing! It may turn out to be no time at all, then you'll be off to London and you're on the last leg!

Just got email from Bangkok Embassy. Nan's interview is set for 7am 31 August!!! She is freaking out, as am I.
I am flying over tuesday next week after a retirement ceremoney next monday down in Anchorage. I can not believe it happened that fast. we just mailed the Pkt 3 off last Friday! I am freaking out now!
Holy Cow! It is happening!
Best of luck to everyone else!
Neil
Are you stationed out of Ft. Rich or Elmendorf?

NVC finally got our file yesterday. They said right off the bat that it was undergoing additional processing, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what that means for our timeline.

I love etsy <3 That dress reminds of Anne of Green Gables, when Anne performed the highwayman at the White Sands! Actually it might be the lady's hair.

A burrito sounds delicious! And attaya_girl, apparently even when you are being "argumentative" you are always extremely nice and tactful!
I'm not too bummed out about his interview being after I go to London, I just thought it would be really special if I could be there for it. Fortunately it shouldn't affect the outcome! We can just cross our fingers that they don't forget about us, stlouis
at least our noa2s have arrived
As far as flowers go, I once got 3 dozen roses from a guy I played an online game with. Unfortunately, they arrived the day of my sister's wedding and EVERYONE asked who they were from and I had to explain. I think they had the opposite effect the guy hoped they'd have
On the flip side, when James gave me roses and balloons when he thought he wouldn't be there for Valentines day, I was overjoyed! He walked to the store through the snow while I was at work and had everything waiting for me when I got home, he was so proud! I think I was touched more by the gesture and the thought behind it than I was by the flowers, but they were beautiful nonetheless
