  1. Thanks for sharing your experience. I went to my scheduled Biometrics but there was nobody there. A lady was vacuming the place so I don't know if they were about to close. The officer joked around with me. I actually had a "hair" issue. It was humid that day and my hair started flipping up. It looked so stupid in the picture. He gave me two more chances to arrange my hair so I got it just barely. I thought of the member who shared her no make-up experience. Well, I thought, that won't happen to me. I came after work and was "fixed up." But the hair situation was a bit embarassing. The officer did not like it either, thats why he gave me the additional chance. Otherwise, this was a 10 minute deal, in and out.

  2. Yea it saves that amount of time you have to wait for the biometrics. It is worth a try if you have the time. if you search the forum you will find a lot of biometrics walk-in experiences. They have great info and sometime it is even about local locations as well. No harm of giving it a try, if it is done its done. Otherwise, your appointment is still there. ;)

Time is the key word here. I would have to ask off from work and I would hate driving there all the way and then being rejected. so, I wait patiently for my appointment. Only one more week and a half.

  3. Thanks M. You made me smile - you can't believe how much I have searched for that darn Impfbuch. Mine was red ( for east Germany) with a black cover over it. I could have sworn that I brought it to the States; I see it in my mind. I even remember how we all trotted over to the health center one day, in school, and got those shots.

Anyway, my second set was due today and I got them. They were not for hep, but MM something, tetanus and varicella or something like that. Oh well. I figured I finish what I started. But interesting was that the lady at the health center insisted that INS requires them and she could not believe that I did not need hep shots. Not sure where they get their info from.

  4. Got a question on these vaccinations needed for the medical form I-693.

I had to get them all since I had no evidence from my country, although I am sure at some point I had them done.

My doctor filled out the form after I got them done. I sent it off. Everything OK.

But at the clinic, where I got the shots, they told me I needed to come back for a second set on 2 of them and after 6 months one more time.

We are talking some money here. I asked the doctor and she recommended it.

Did any of you have a similar experience? Are they maybe needed for the Biometrics or something? Should I get them done?

    Thanks

  5. Here is a simple employment letter. Could you try to type it up and just give to them to sign? Sometimes companies get nervous as they don't know whats expected.
