  1. hi. i'm an LPR (came to US on K1). i'm now here in PI to get my 2 kids who are below 21 yrs old (on K2).

my question is, will i need a Cenomar (certificate of no marriage) for my 20 year old daughter for the interview? i hope to be able to get the interview/visa stamping done with no problem as she is aging out in july. we need to do her AOS soon as we get back to US.

    please help.

    thanks a lot!

  2. hi, dai! how are you? if only for your shots completion, i suggest you first look for the nearest health department clinic in your area. i did that and it worked well for me. didnt cost me anything because of our health insurance but if you will have to pay, i think it's only 12 dollars per shot/visit.

will call you later. good luck sa AOS ha.

  3. So ... our AOS from a K-1 interview is on Dec 15 in Detroit. The supporting evidence I was planning on bringing is as follows:

Wedding and other photos of us together (including at home) in the US.

Documents showing my wife as beneficiary of my 401(k) and Roth IRA accounts, as joint owner of our bank accounts, health insurance card with both our names on it, home and auto insurance documents in our names, copy of credit card in her married name (same account number as my card) a MI drivers temporary permit in her name with our address on it.

It seems crazy to get utility bills changed to include both our names. I'm not doing that. Also, is there any need to add her as owner of our home? How to do that?

Other than other other required documents (marriage license, pay stubs, etc.) is this enough supporting evidence of our relationship?

    Thanks ...

good luck on the interview, friends! i'm sure you'll do good. you have enough proof of marriage. if you want, you can tell them to call me. i can vouch for you guys! haha! i'll have my biometrics next week. hopefully i'll get my EAD soon after that. i cant wait to work and stay in cadillac. not that i'm complaining but we're booked up to the holidays. of course, we'll see you with your ninang mary on new year's. regards to bing.

    God bless!

hi, shiela! dont worry about detroit as your POE. to give you an idea, you can look at my timeline and read my experience when i flew in via NW last july. have a safe trip and congratulations too! God bless!

  5. Congrats to Monkeyjuice! Interview is a bit off but it gives you plenty of time to collect the necessary evidence :)

Freyja I'm expecting a EAD approval on Monday, so you better not let me down ;)

Looking at the spreadsheet, mike and riza and scandal still not had a biometrics appointment yet

hi, no news for us yet. we're traveling and wont be home till mid nov. keeping our fingers crossed. thanks!

hi again! got touch on EAD, Oct. 26 and approval on AP same day. no biometrics appointment (yet). congrats to everyone!

Congrats on the AP! Just to note you won't get EAD approval until you have completed Biometrics.

noted, thanks! hope to get/do it soon as we get home in 2 weeks. husband is happy i got the AP approval. we'll travel outside states in december. thanks again jimand christy for monitoring all the movements. God bless you!

What happen to the old crowd.....????

with vengeance? hope not! we like your new personal photo!

glad to see you around again.

  9. hello there! you need not get another police clearance from UAE. whatever you have is good enough. i am talking from experience. i stayed in bahrain for 3 years and presented bahrain good conduct certificate/police clearance with 3 months validity as well which i got prior k1 visa application. it was accepted during the interview. good luck on your journey! God bless!

  10. hello, everyone! good to see things are moving fast with you guys. i still dont have anything after NOA1 last 23rd sept. but when i called USCIS yesterday, i was told that this might be because of the issuance of my military ID (dependent) card where i already had my biometrics last august. we're hoping that could be the case otherwise, we have a problem.

good luck to the rest of us! God bless!

    riza (and mike)

  11. thanks, i will do that in couple of days from now. i'm just worried that the notice for biometrics would come when we're not home.

If you don't get it by friday I would guess it will come while you are gone AND have a date before you return if you are gone for a month...look at the spreadsheet and compare the NOA1 dates and when others got their bio letter and the date they had on them.

Is someone gonna be getting mail for you that will be able to contact you?

that's what i'm thinking too... yes, hubby's arranged for someone to check our mails everytime we're gone. we're still hoping we'd get it before friday and try for a walk in before we leave.

  12. hi, everyone! we just got back from our travel but got nothing on mail re:biometrics appointment after getting NOA last 23 Sept, not even an update on USCIS online case status (case still not found). we're traveling again from next weekend and wont be back for a month. i cant help but get worried. any suggestion/s? thanks!

    regards

Maybe it's a little early to start worrying but you could always call USCIS customer service & see if they know anything?

thanks, i will do that in couple of days from now. i'm just worried that the notice for biometrics would come when we're not home.

  13. I have created a spreadsheet time line for AOS September filers, if anyone would like to be added to the sheet or if there are any errors, incomplete values just post in this thread and I will make the necessary changes. Also any recommendations or improvements for the sheet would be greatly appreciated.

There are only two sets of data that is outstanding:

    1) Whether you submitted the I-693 Medical Form with your AOS Package

    2) Whether you intend doing an early walk in on Biometrics and if so when or if you are not and are attending Biometrics on the date that was given to you by USCIS.

    Thanks :)

    AOS September 2009 Filers

    1) yes, we submitted 1-693 with AOS.

    2) we hope to get the schedule for biometrics next week when we get back from our travel and from there we will decide whether or not we intend in doing an early walk in because we'll be gone again for another month.

  14. im so sorry to hear about this. i understand how you feel about that bahrain certificate and the hardships you and sally are going thru. i hope something can still be done. i will email her separately later.

    riza (and mike) moses

  15. I will concentrate for now on how to get my driver's license. Hahahaha! My husband can't wait to see me driving, and cursing a**hole of the road.

Adiiann - did you have a drivers license in your home country or are you learning on a learners permit now? I don't have a drivers license but need to get one now, however at the DMV it seems I have to have EAD or GC to get a learner's permit! Since K-1 is only valid for 90 days it's too short. Maybe differs between states... but were you able to get a learner's permit without your EAD? What did you have to show at the DMV? Thanks :)

Rules in my country of origin are different from here. So, I will get first my learning's permit. I don't have problem getting my state ID as well as trying to get my learning's permit when me and my husband went to DMV in our area. They told me that I can get learning's permit as soon as I am ready for written test.

I guess getting legal documents depends on what state you are.

hi, there! submitted AOS last sept 15 and hoping to get feedback this week as we're traveling as well.

@ freyja, i used to drive in PI but i needed to get the TIP here. i passed the written exam last thursday but when the card was about to be processed, the 'system' didnt accept it because my social security info is still in my maiden name. i will try to have it changed tomorrow to my married name but i'm not sure as the last time we went to social, they said i need to get my aos done first before i can have my last name change.

anyway, good luck to all of us here in september aos thread!

    regards,

    riza (and mike) moses

  16. hi, there! based on my own experience, yes, you need to get NBI clearance under your previous married name. they will surely look for it on your interview.

good luck on your journey! God bless

  17. hi there! i suggest you go to your local health department (that's what i did) and show her vaccination supplement. whatever she needs more will be administered to her. when i did that i was only asked to pay less than 20 dollars but of course our health insurance covered for it. as soon as i had mine completed, i called dr. arnold and arranged things with her too. now we're all set to send the AOS.

    good luck and God bless!
