we have been approved as of June 5th! Sent my RFE response May 17th or so. Happily waiting for the card to arrive!
-
I know how you feel. We also had a RFE. My letter did state what I sent that they didnt approve and what they wanted. Along with our baby girls birth certificate I also sent pictures of the three of us! Good Luck!
in my letter it just seems very generic. just asks for birth certificates of any children, lease or mortgage agreements and anything that will show our marriage is bonafide. doesn't say anything except that our evidence was insufficient. I honestly don't remember what I sent the first time... I'm sure I included a mortgage statement and an ultrasound of a little 7 week pregnant baby blob
oh, and insurance document showing both our names.
-
I don't want to say that we have been using unemployment, you know? It looks bad... I got fired when I found out I was pregnant and started forgetting things.... I was with the company for a long time. So far what I will send back is;
copy of DL's showing same address
baby boy's birth certificate showing we are mother and father
copy of the front of credit cards showing same number with both our names
overdue bills showing my name and his name (none were allowed to be joint, but a gas bill in my name and an electric bill in his name both for the same house)
I'm going to try and get the mortgage agreement... the first time I sent a mortgage statement with both our names, but there must be some other type of agreement contract thing...
A letter stating we haven't filed taxes, and our w2's for 2011 and 2012
Anyone have any other ideas that would help???

Just got an RFE today in the mail. Dated March 1st. we don't use a joint bank account anymore since I lost my job, but we did just have a beautiful baby boy on the tenth. I think I may call them to find out exactly what they want... I don't want this messed up, we need that card asap!
-
Sorry! I didn't remember when I put it in the mail. All I know is the day I got the delivery receipt was the date on the NOA. I think I did overnight... whatever the most expensive USPS was to the PO Box address... sorry!

Ignore my above post, I think I got it formatted right this time.

We got the NOA1's, went in for biometrics (After moving from Portland Oregon to Kansas City Kansas!!) we were able to re-arrange the appointment so we could go into the Kansas office and not the original Portland office. We moved from our first Kansas apartment to another Kansas apartment (water damage in the old one) and now I'm stressed that his EAD won't be forwarded by the post office. I already changed address for the second time with USCIS, but they said they mailed the EAD a couple days before. Sooooo, a little panicked about that, but we'll see... Its not like he's got a job lined up yet... But yeah... Lots of stuff going on... wish you all the best, I'll try to keep my timeline updated.
-
every one is very quiet now they got their loved ones with them, aww so good to see
Yep... that I am sooo grateful for... but I'm back on the wagon to get my AOS filed...
Allie... YOU TOTALLY KNOW ME!!!!

Just plugging along over here...Nigel's putting in somewhat of a garden and so we're just fixing up the yard a bit...so he's busy....found a few nice British sorta pubs here that i've never seen before even after like 15 years in this town! So we're having fun, anxious to get biometrics done so we can get his permit slowly after I suppose. So all is well over here!
I'm pretty good here too... Riggs got his SSN, saved up enough for completing the AOS packet... now I'm just researching what to do for that... but things are good here... just working alot while he's at home.... I'll go check out the AOS thread now...

I'm now getting ready for work. Its so sad, only having 4 days to adjust to this wonderful new life together. I never realized how much more food 2 people go through compared to just me. crazy.
He's checked on how to get the SSN, and we'll be doing that on the week after next. Then getting a drivers license, in the state of Oregon requires a SSN
Plus the wedding in a few weeks here, have no idea what I'm going to wear!! I'll make Riggs post up his reviews, he's being lazy.

I'm so excited!!!!

*sigh*
just now called DoS again & per Joanna no interview date yet
You'll probably get it in the first half of Jan (Your appointment date that is)... we've noticed quite the trend with booking interview dates in the first half of a month, then quiet for the last half (as far as interview booking is concerned). Take a look at my sig.... its pretty common (minus taking so long to send in Packet 3... that was Riggs's fault
)
If you're reading this Riggs, you know I love you

I think right now they're not allowing carry on baggage, other than personal items for flights US bound.
You might want to check on that before he flies out.
So far, there are no rules for the flights from London other than the extended time to board. American Airlines stated that there's no travel advisories that will change his ability to carry on one bag and a personal item. Riggs is only taking his other girlfriend, a 17.5 inch laptop named "Kate"... lol
-
Any updates?
Yes! The visa did not print yesterday, therefore he will not be making his flight on the 31st. But this morning, we have learned that they have printed the Visa, and it will be delivered ON the 31st. Too late by hours to make it to the airport in time. So, that flight is now canceled ($160 cancellation fee?!?!?!) and the $754 that I paid for the ticket has gone towards his new ticket on Jan 6th (all other flights sooner were over a grand), and the new ticket was only $686, so my cancellation fee ends up being $93. We have to wait another week, but at least it gets me some time to clean up around the house.
And of course he's nervous like crazy about flying, even worse with all the recent terrorist activity... always something to stress about with him I suppose...

I'm going to make Yorkshire pudding for Christmas as well! I made a test batch in a mini muffin pan, with lil' smokies in the middle... and american version of "Toad in the Hole" ? They were DELICIOUS.. aside from a tad greasy.. but that's okay!
-
And if you're suffering for a decent cuppa, my husband can make do with Tetley's British Blend. Our Wal-Mart used to carry it but they've stopped; we get it at Kroger's now. We use an extra bag in the pot compared to full-fledged teas we order online or get from back home. So far as tea in the US goes, I've come to believe that if you can find a decent substitute then you are still only halfway home. You need a decent teapot (I imported an authentic Brown Betty) and you need to warm the interior of the pot by swirling and then dumping a bit of the boiled water BEFORE you put the bags in for steeping.
I've been hooked on PG Tips, I buy them at World Market... they have them all over the place, I think...

The Visa still hasn't printed. If it doesn't print and get handed to the couriers by Tuesday (The first day they open after Christmas) then I'm going to lose $200 in rescheduling fees... I really hope this isn't an aweful New Years...

Frangellico Bread Pudding
1 large panettone, about 2 pounds
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups whole milk
Zest of 1/2 lemon
4 extra large eggs
1 stick butter, melted
White Chocolate
Cream
Frangellico Liqueur
In a saucepan, bring the milk and lemon zest to a simmer, remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. In a large bowl, mix the 3/4 cup sugar with the eggs. Gradually stir in the hot milk. Add Frangellico to taste – about 1.5 ounces.
Trim one slice of panettone so that it fits into the bottom of the souffle dish. Spoon 2 or 3 tablespoons of melted butter over it and then enough of the custard mixture to cover the panettone. Let it absorb the custard, adding more if necessary to cover. Repeat with additional slices of panettone, melted butter, and custard until the dish is filled to the very top. With each slice (and especially the last), use your palm to hold down the panettone until it completely submerged and saturated with custard. Do not compress the panettone, or the pudding will be too dense. Drizzle any remaining butter over the top.
Place the souffle dish into a larger pan filled with enough very hot tap water to come three-quarters of the way up the side of the dish. Bake for about an hour and a half. The top should be puffed and brown, the pudding should begin to pull away from the sides of the dish, and the internal temperature should rise to between 160 and 170 degrees. Allow the pudding to cool for at least 15 minutes.
While cooling, melt some white chocolate in a saucepan over low heat. Add some cream and 2 ounces of Frangellico. Pour over individual servings of pudding before serving.
What temperature oven? How much sugar? (1/2 or 3/4 cup?)

Cool, Riggs arrives 40 minutes before New Year?
That's pretty awesome.
Problem.
His Visa still hasn't been printed. He might not get it in time for his flight... I am so upset over this.... I shouldn't have booked his flight so early, but I was so excited, now I could end up losing hundreds.

I thought so too! I also got a great deal.. day before, day after, all those tickets were around $1,000 to $1,200! But the ticket I got including all taxes and fees.... $764! I couldn't believe it! And we'll be together to kiss at midnight!
